I wish I'd seen these reviews before…

I wish I'd seen these reviews before getting involved with these people. Nowhere when you are starting the search does it inform you about the subscription. I only found it in their menu after the fact. I have lost money, I have informed my bank who have blocked the payments, (lets see how that goes). I have told the company that their payment requests are now blocked and I wish to cancel my subscription. Again, lets see how that goes. Will update as and when. Oh, and I have reported them to the National Cyber Scam people too. Am also getting in touch with Google as I am sure these scammers are operating outside of their procedures. UPDATE: no refund according to bank, I agreed to it apparently. WHERE EXACTLY WAS THIS THAT I AM SUPPOSED TO HAVE AGREED TO??? Bank has suggested I go to dispute against company but bank website doesn't have an option for this type of thing. Section 75 would have covered me if I'd used a credit card instead of a debit. Guess I'm getting a credit card...

This company is a scammer i like others paid 50p to search for a relative, nothing. They couldn't find anyone. Now they have taken £39 from my account. They tried using DATAAPP1, the bank blocked it. So they tried again DATAAPP1 levallois per and it was paid. Cancelled my card , soundslike that won't help tho

Used a search engine website to find a…

Used a search engine website to find a family member, it said it had found them
But needed to pay 50p to unlock 1 time payment. Paid the 50p then said no one found which was frustrating, then few days later tried to take £39.99 but I had no money in the account I used as I use that for all online payments. They are overeating
On people and scamming them. No mention of a recurring payment or anything.

Report as Fraud

i have had a similar experience to everybody else; have now reported this company to Action Fraud and would encourage everybody else to do the same.

My bank ( Barclays) kindly refunded me twice now, and are trying to block payments since the first payment was flagged by them as fraudulent, but data app craftily changed the payment name ever so slightly. i requested my card being blocked and replaced, but similar to others, there seems to be little the banks can do on subscriptions, not that anybody actually willingly and knowingly subscribed!

Scam company have taken £39 from my…

Scam company have taken £39 from my bank account for past 3 months till my bank declined them today.
Never signed up for this just a one off payment to research family tree.
As stated by other reviews they don't recognise my email address.
Avoid this company at all costs

No luck with re- embursment

My bank Nationwide does not believe this is a scam and I did not authorise these payments. They have blocked the firm but won't or can not re-emburse my money and told me to go to citizens advice
As a pensioner on limited income this is poor customer service. It's a good job it wasn't thousands

Scam

Scam, would give no stars if possible.

My father recently passed, i was trying to locate his old friends, took 50p, which was fine, but then 2 days later took £39 from my account. Went onto website to cancel, added my email address only to be told my email address does not exist, am now trying to recoup the payment with my bank and cancel any future payments. DISGUSTING COMPANY, preying on people.

Scam, 48hr trial 50p but charge £39.00 with no warning. When queried they say it’s clear on the site that you have to unsubscribe before the 48hrs is up, it’s not.

This site is just a scam

This site is just a scam. I have only noticed today that £39 had been taken from my bank account. After contacting my bank they informed me that this is a recurring payment and has been paid since February, unfortunately I had not noticed. My bank have now cancelled this payment. Upon trying to contact this company they are saying my email does not exist. BE VERY WARY OF THIS COMPANY AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

If I can give 0 or minus then I most definitely would. Same as everyone else...hidden in the very small print is a sign up to monthly subscriptions. LLOYDS bank done nothing to help other than cancel my card giving me hassle and telling me the payment can only be stopped for 14 months and they will start up again even with new card so have to contact Data NET. Done that, they didn't care, cancelled but not interested in the £39 taken but they wouldn't be would they...If everyone only pays 1 of these before noticing its a lot of money to them! People with morals like this really are the scum of earth.

Avoid& Watch out for this shady scam company! They employ deceptive tactics to extract £39 from unsuspecting individuals without their explicit consent. Initially, I agreed to a seemingly innocuous 50p charge for a document which it wasn’t available anything on their data, only to wake up the next day to a staggering £39 subscription fee forcefully deducted from my account. To make matters worse, I don't even have an account with them; they shamelessly exploited my email and card details for their own gain. When I confronted them about this blatant act of theft, they callously shifted the blame onto me, insisting that the responsibility lay in my failure and They blamed me for their sneaky actions.Yet, let's be crystal clear: there was no indication whatsoever of any subscription agreement on my end. Despite their hollow assurances to rectify the situation, they shamelessly Despite their hollow assurances to fix the problem, they shamelessly backed out of their promise, leaving me out of pocket and furious! I refuse to tolerate such egregious behaviour from this fraudulent company. They should face consequences for their terrible actions.Any reputable company worth its salt would promptly refund the money in such circumstances. Same as the everyone else , 50p one day £39 the next day . I have phoned my bank which is nationwide they have put a block on them taking any more money . They advised I e mail these horrible people and ask for my money back. Don't hold out much hope . Feel like a right idiot

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Paid 50p and then got charged £39. EVERYBODY HAS A 14 DAY REFUND PERIOD. I called this number 020 4525 5459, told them I would like a refund and they refunded me no problem. Phone call only lasted about 1 minute.

I have also been scammed! Agreed to pay 50p 2 days ago as I am trying to find a long lost family member, said there was a match, paid 50p to be told there is no match, 2 days later they take £39 subscription fee unauthorised! I called them they refuse to give my money back and no manager available for me to speak to! How can they prey on people looking for long lost relatives!! It's heartbreaking
