Great idea to bring singles together
I really like the idea of bringing people together for certain ages, especially for people who looking for partners, who are single.
Love the recent boat party met bunch of nice girls and guys. Nice view of London from river.

Was a fantastic evening, met loads of lovely people, lots of girls and guys!
The key and padlock game indeed a clever ice breaker, many people opened conversation with it.
Alcohol is priced reasonably.
The views along the river from East to West were superb. Saw all major landmarks along the Thames!
The Madison event is also great!
Will be going to both again!

False advertising
I booked a speed dating event at the Luxe on 10th September only to find out the venue had been permanently closed for months. I was not offered a refund and am very confused as to why this company would advertise events at a venue they knew would not be open. In response to Rob, I understand venues closing down unexpectedly which is fine but what I don't understand is why there are various events advertised at the Luxe if it is a known fact that the Luxe is permanently closed.

Originally was a 2 star review but judging how the company responds to other complaints I have felt the need to reduce this to the lowest. I don't hold out much hope for a polite response to the following.
In short:
- Booking site states a venue in Shoreditch, confirmation email immediately changes venue to Cornhill. Company response to other reviews stating similar had said that venue closed down weeks ago, but obviously haven't bothered to update their booking sites.
- Host turned up at 19:45, when sign on starts at 19:30. A lot of confused guests wondering what's going on.
- Host doesn't have a list of people who have booked and is just writing names down on their phone.
- Never been to an event with such a mismatch in numbers. 10 women and over 20 guys. Some men had to wait nearly an hour to get to their first date.
- No name badges. In review responses the company likes to rely on what standard to expect at a speed dating event when it suits them (loud, close proximity etc), but somehow thinks name badges are quote "cringe". Instead you spend 25% of your date trying to work out how to spell their name.
- Nothing to write your matches down on. In other responses they have claimed it's communicated before the event that you must note them down on your phone. This is wholly untrue. I have checked all emails and this is not mentioned. It was also not mentioned on the night.
- £20 is a lot for such a poorly run event.
- Website states expect 15-20 dates. Men got 10.

Unfortunatley venues do change from time to time and we reserve the right to do so. Our venue in Shoreditch closed down and we have not found a permanent replacement yet. Forge bar is a great venue and certainly an upgrade on the advertised one. The host should arrive at 7pm ready to greet guests at 7:30pm. If the host was late then I can only apologise for that. The host was provided with a list of names as I sent it to her at 5:30pm. We organise a lot of events and 99% of events go ahead without any problems and are fairly well balanced but sometimes as is life, things do not always go to plan. It should be noted that on our website we do clearly state that we cannot guarantee equal numbers because it's simply not possible but i'm aware no one reads this. We cancel any event that has less than 10 dates but I believe that 10+ introductions is an acceptable number of people to meet at a Speed Dating event. There are other companies out there that would consider that a 'full house'. I know we had a few more guys but generally most guys are cool with waiting around or having a few drinks etc. I'm sorry this caused problems for you. Yes, IMO name badges are cringy and we do not use them. It makes us stand out and draws unwanted attention. Logistically they fall off and get stuck on tables and glasses. We want the focus to be on conversation and meeting people not admin. All your dates can be viewed within your user cp from the moment the event starts and that will show you their names and a photo if they have uploaded one. The matches are done on your phone and this should have been communicated by the host. I take on board the fact it's not mentioned on e-mail prior to the event this is something i'm changing this week. Yes, we do state that you can 'expect' X amount of dates but this is not a guarantee (this is based on average number of dates at the venue from previous experience) How can I possibly know how many people are going to turn up? I will speak to my host about this event and find out what time she arrived and if the matching was explained properly and if not, why not. I would like to follow this up with you but as you have chosen to leave this review under an alias this is not currently possible. Lovely way to spend an evening
Tom was an excellent host at both events I attended these past few weeks. Most personable, fun, made everyone feel welcome and a great ambassador for DateinaDash. Lovely events, helas no knight in shining armour for me, but still a good laugh, relaxed and a great atmosphere.

Event location changed and not communicated
Bought tickets to an event in Shoreditch and arrived at the location to find out it has been permanently closed for a month. Tried to contact dateinadash and their phone line doesn’t seem to work, and couldn’t get in touch until a few days later when it turned out the event location had changed and hadn’t been communicated.
Thankfully I was given a refund and kindly offered to attend a different event for free but it’s a shame that organisation prior to the event had been poor and that the new location wasn’t widely communicated.

Rob is an excellent host
Rob is an excellent host, I went to his speed dating by myself and I was a little apprehensive at the beginning since it was my very first time and I was going all by myself, but he has excellent manner and vey good social skills, he made me feel immediately at ease and I met plenty of nice and interesting people. I had a lovely night at his event. I highly recommend !

Terrible customer service
I booked to attend a speed dating event with a friend. Trainstrikes were announced the day before the event, making it impossible to attend the speed dating session. I tried to transfer my ticket by using the message system on the DateinaDash website. I received a very short message saying I hadn't given enough noticed. I replied to that message explaining I had tried my best and that it was exceptional circumstances, but no response. I tried to phone loads of times and was cut off every time without being able to speak to anyone (I'm convinced the phone number on this website doesn't actually work). I think the customer service at DateinaDash is terrible.

The train strikes were not announced the day before, like all the recent train strikes they were announced a week earlier so it gave people time to plan alternative transport for work etc. I'm sorry that you were unaware that there was a national train strike but we cannot do anything when a customer cancels only hours before an event starts. I understand this must be frustrating for you but there is no excuse to leave a negative review about our business because we have done nothing wrong. Our T&C's clearly outline our policy and you agreed to this prior to booking. The reason we have this policy is to ensure that events go ahead with an equal ratio of men and women. Obviously if everyone cancelled on the day then it would make it very hard to resell the tickets. If you want to have a pop at anyone then please direct your anger towards the RMT who have further strikes planned over the summer. It should also be noted that your friend was able to move their booking as they e-mailed within the correct timeframe. Regards, Rob.

If you're in two minds just do it
Well, I tried a Date in a Dash speed dating event in the City. This was my first singles event after several months as a mature single guy, I'd previously been in a very long term relationship. There were a few no-shows, which made the sex balance a little off. The venue was great except it was slightly too small for the numbers. Some of the tables were crammed together and it was sometimes hard to hear each other speak. Online, many of the ladies did not set a profile picture, or the aspect ratio of the uploaded pictures was so off as to make them useless. This means it is essential you use a pen and paper for notes, because you cannot rely on visual clues on the website as reminders after the event, and, disappointingly, DIAD do not advise this ahead of time nor provide any stationery. If you are using the online system please upload a decent picture which clearly shows your face -- the representation potential matches see later will be tiny, so make it just or mostly of your face.
Despite the less-than-perfect set up this gets a solid five stars with me. The event organiser was excellent, pleasant and professional -- and I met a match! It was the last lady I spoke to, when the whistle blew we stayed and chatted with others for a while, and then went off together to a cocktail bar. I doubt we show as a match in the DIAD system as I don't think she's logged back in. However, we are most certainly working well together. I’m delighted.

Forget dating apps
Should have started going to events like this ages ago, it's a fun event and everyone is easy to talk to.
It was quite noisy at one venue (very loud music), but overall I can recommend it.
