I an so glad I didn't check the reviews before I ordered from this company, because I really love what I've got and the customer service was the best I've ever experienced 10/10. The dresses are my favourite thing to wear. One of the dresses I ordered snapped the elastic while I was wearing it so I emailed them about it snd they replied almost immediately and offered me a new dress plus 20% off my future order and a free shipping return label. I couldnt ask for more- the dresses are so beautiful and I'll definitely be ordering more clothes from them
These dresses are terrible quality fabrics and sewing. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
The whole concept seems exploitative if you actually visit their store and see how terrible the quality is in every single style. Way wayyy overpriced. My dress ripped on the second wear from walking past a door and I am sooo glad I did not purchase more. They only post 5 star reviews submitted on their website. The entire brand has no credibility when they do that. Steer clear

I got a beautiful dress Kyra Maxi Coral - but much to big for me.
The return and refund policy is much to complicated - and very expensive to make a return.
The dress is beautiful, but not easy to make a refund - You could have much more succes, if you offer or send a return label with the dress.
I am not sure I want to order dresses again.
Reading the refund problems people have.

Very poor quality. I made a purchase of a few dresses and every single one was terrible quality. They have very good marketing because there's no way these cost more than $20 to make. The patterns are also slightly off. Outdated returns policy too.

Do Not purchased from this place - Purchased a dress after 3 wears - the tie breaks off. Email customer support who says "sorry for the small fault". Actually cant wear the dress without the tie. Take it to it seamstress to get it fixed? Really?

These dresses are so expensive and are extremely poor quality. They literally fall apart at the seams. I have paid to fix two myself, and now a third. You literally cannot breathe on them or they'll tear.
I won't be buying any more, and don't recommend them to friends - even if they like the dress.

I wore the Bhoomi Mini dress two times since I got it last Saturday. I adored it, but my excitement was short-lived when I discovered that the material tore easily from a slight tug.
Have I simply wasted $150? I am truly shocked that an item of this price could have such poor quality. I am genuinely disheartened, and extremely sad by this.
I anticipated this dress being a go-to piece for me, one that I could wear repeatedly. Yet, the fabric is excessively delicate. So thin beyond belief.

i am trying to return an item but keeps saying no order found not happy

D.O. India used to be a nice brand with soft flowing fine cotton block garments from India. They took returns and the business seemed in line with what is right. Now, the fabric is rough, colours do not match what is in their photos, and they do not do returns, only credits. I have had enough experiences with them now to know there are no pieces I want to swap my latest return order for …. I want a refund. The colour was way off and the item was not what was expected. I don’t recommend the risk ordering from them, unless you want your money sitting there waiting to be used on just anything if things don’t work out; I am being forced to buy something I don’t need or want

Actually I am quite disappointed at this moment. I wore this dress < 5 times and just - very gently - cold handwashed it for the first time. Upon hanging it, I noticed the seam at the neckline already had come loose and had formed a gap of 4 cm… this feels like very poor quality. I’m so disappointed because I’ve treated this dress as a garment so special - now it feels like fast fashion still.
Edit: DoI have offered to cover the cost of bringing the dress to the repair shop. I don't know how often this happens, I would've liked to see a reassurance that this (almost) never does. But while it's a satisfactory solution, this shouldn't happen after the first wash. Based off the (otherwise very friendly customer service email) I don't think I'll be shopping here again.
Edit #2: More kudos to the customer service. Nice person who really thinks along and takes you seriously. I'm currently waiting for a partial refund which I find a good solution here.

I purchased 3 mini dresses. They are way too short. On their website they are advertised as being 4-7cm longer which makes a huge difference when it comes to mini dresses and their length. I am only short too so I don’t understand how anyone who is medium height or tall wears these. All the models advertising these dresses show that they reach just above the knee. On me they barely cover my bum. Really bummed. I have contacted them but awaiting a response. Hope to return them for a full refund as I don’t wear long dresses.

In reply to the Daughters of India response to my recent complaint about a dress with a dye mark on the front of the skirt.
Your initial response was less than helpful, and because of the size of the dye mark this garment should never have left your premises. On Jade a dye mark is very obvious. I gave you the opportunity to put things right but your response was negative.
I have now taken the poor dress to my alterations lady and she is in the process of removing the skirt from this dress and thereby cutting out the mark. The dress is a Kyra which has plenty of fabric, and so I am hopeful that this action will provide a solution to the problem you so kindly left me with.
I am in no doubt that had I been permitted to return it to you at my cost and received a 'gift card', you would then have charged me again with shipping of any replacement garment.
You are well aware of how I feel about your company and actions and I have nothing more to say on this sorry subject.

Overpriced - very flimsy fabric, significantly different to the photo's on website, I would call the dress i received cream not white and sizing not accurate.
Didn't even waste my time contacting them about an exchange as I have read reviews, their customer service is lacking.

Unfortunately I just can’t give more than 2 stars. I’ve purchased 4 dresses from daughters of India in the past 2 years - 3 worn 3-4 times and 1 worn 10 or so times. All have come apart at the seams. The quality just isn’t there to warrant the price point.

I’ve purchased three dresses as I am trying to support slow fashion brands and all three developed tips along the seems within weeks.
Unfortunately the material is so flimsy that the dresses I purchased at least, couldn’t withstand gentle use which included hand washing and line drying and only lasted a few wears.

I bought the Kyra dress and after 1 wash the clothes dont look new anymore. Bad quality. I dont recommend. Too overpriced for the quality and returns or exchanges are bad. Do not buy.

I bought a dress that was on sale - it was a bit snug so I contacted them by email to ask if I could exchange it for another size.
Unfortunately for me, company policy doesn't allow a size exchange on a sale item even when they have the stock. The company policies are ruthless.
I thought I'd have a lovely dress for summer but I won't be able to wear it so I'm unable to review the dress.
I wouldn't recommend DOI

Cute design but very low quality.
Dresses are see through, and a bit too short. Fabric is extremely thin.
After a few washes (hand wash) it does shrink a bit.
Overall the price is way too high vs the quality.

Ordered a dress which is very see through and less colourful than shown online. No refund permitted and communication generally off putting. Wish I'd read these reviews and the Reddit thread on them before ordering!
