Beautiful umbrellas, very high quality. Got my first one stolen, but thanks to the loss protection program I bought a new one for half the price!

Davek Solo received within 2 days of ordering ✓

I chose to buy once a high quality product (ref Davek's YouTube add, and Terry Pratchet's Sam Vines). My expectations were high as they are at Apple Store, BMW etc:

Opening the delivery packaging the presentation box looked good; great gift feel; but had a light dent in the corner. As I opened the box I found a small selection of minor defects: circle of gloss rubbed from base-plate on handle (probably vibration within packaging). Slight glue visible around the caps rim. Loose thread on the label.
I opened the umbrella outside, and I can say its a good sturdy, presentable design. Feels well balanced in the hand. The design is clever; large velcro strap reliable; easy to fasten.
As others have commented hand strap is too small to fit wrist through; but myself, I found it fitted comfortably over my thumb and we good for hanging up to dry.

I contacted support to raise the concerns, I had. Who got back to me a couple of days later offering refund or replacement. But by that time I'd ended up using it in a downpour; and decided despite the cosmetic issues it was a fantastic little Umbrella.. so was going to stay.

I really like the concept, product and what Davek are trying to do. I hope they can sort out the source of these minor issues; so that their customers with customer know they have the privilege to be holding the best Umbrella money can buy.

Excellent product and better than I expected, although the sun is now out so haven't been able to use it in anger but no doubt it'll be worth the money.

I had some reservations about buying an item sold in the USA from here in the UK, bit it arrived remarkably quickly and beautifully packaged. Clearly it is a quality product, by far the best umbrella I have ever owned - but Sod’s Law, the weather has changed here in the UK to heat-wave conditions and I have yet to use it!

Quick service. the umbrella operates with a touch of the button and WOOSH. Splendid ! Just add rain .

... if I wasn't planning to give away 2 of the 3 Solos I have just bought. So I have only tried one which I'm keeping as a present to myself. Nothing I can criticise, maybe the leather strap could be an inch longer, and it all seems to be engineered extremely well.

Just in time for summer!

Having said that, there were problems with both the other Solos. One had a badly bent spoke, the other wouldn't lock shut. Davek replaced them immediately I provided evidence of the problem. Putting it down to bad luck.

Superb umbrellas .. the Savile in particular!! And then the exceptional personal service from Alison & Dave.
A real pleasure to be their customer.

Nicely packaged, and the cover fabric looks fine, but the metal shaft looks and operates no differently from many much cheaper umbrellas and has the same shortcoming: slightly loose and wobbly constrcution. At this price I expected a much smoother, more accurate fit for the main components.
