Finding the right 11+ tutor for the KEGS and Colchester exams felt daunting, but David has been an absolute game-changer for my son. Topics that used to cause real frustration—specifically fractions, decimals, and missing letters—have miraculously become his absolute favourites! David has a unique talent for breaking down tricky concepts with total clarity, arming him with brilliant tips and strategies.
What I appreciate most, however, is the environment he creates during their online sessions. Instead of feeling pressured, my son is genuinely laughing and having fun. David's kind, nurturing style has sent his confidence through the roof; I never even have to ask him to log on because he actively looks forward to it. The resources provided are top-notch, and regardless of what happens on exam day, the progress he has made is undeniable. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

David has done an amazing job with both of our children. We first asked him to tutor our youngest in Year 4. He quickly identified stronger and weaker areas, then challenged him with work that genuinely matched his level instead of just going through the motions. The progress was clear.

Off the back of that, we asked David to help our eldest in Year 9. He’d started to fall behind and isn’t naturally academic, but the confidence David gave him was incredible. He adapts brilliantly across ages—he kept our 14-year-old engaged and even wove in details like his love of basketball to make lessons click.

At the same time, David was so helpful with my concerns about dyslexia. It turned out to be a visual tracking issue, and once again David was invaluable—structuring lessons to suit and giving practical support that actually worked.

Truly can’t recommend him enough. Our journey with David is still ongoing, and we’ll always be grateful for his help and support with the boys’ education. Such a wonderful approach and a brilliant way about him.

David has been mentoring Kallum for 2 years now. We felt Kallum had a great grasp of maths and needed help and guidance with his English in order for him to progress into the school of his choice and bring him up to speed quicker before high school came around.
Well’ we didn’t expect the service David gave us, Kallum’s English improved extremely well over the first 6 months and excelled a lot more going into the following 6 months. It just wasn’t about his English, it was about his attitude towards his work and his engagement, he all of a sudden became more grown up and wanted to do more with David. Kallum, became more positive and looked forward to his sessions every week.
David’s style is a calming influence and gains trust and finds your child’s weaknesses in there ability and adapts his learning to that particular style of your child. David is an exceptional tutor and we can’t thank him enough for helping Kallum with his all round new abilities.
The greatest news of all is Kallum was accepted into the school of his choice and that’s a big thank you to David and his tutoring skills !

David has worked with both our children to support them in the lead up to their senior school entrance exams. We couldn’t have asked for a kinder or more patient tutor to work with them. David makes each session fun and engaging and takes the time to tailor the work to their individual interests and needs.
