They really don’t give a damn
I asked for advice about console compatibility with different Pro 2 models.
All i got was a link to local stores, no help whatsoever.

We bought a wind sensor part before and they were pretty quick and efficient. Good price and smooth shipping.
We were then interested in their wind stations however, since it's our first time trying the brand we had a couple of questions. They answered one question then stopped responding.
A few months later we did our own research and were interested in buying a station. However we had a few questions about the data and pole diameter which were not mentioned online in detail, and we wished to know which of the two mentioned stations were more suitable.
They ignored our questions and gave us the authorised reseller in our region. This reseller was not responsive in any way. So we decided to purchase the station directly from website but we just wished to know more about data and the pole (so we can procure it locally to reduce shipping costs). We contacted them about this, again no reply.
Tried again if they can please answer us, no reply. At the end we thanked them and informed them that we'd move to another brand and there's no need to answer us. That's when they replied back and said sure bye go ahead.
They absolutely do not care about their clients, don't reply to their customers, and rude indirectly
I ordered some parts for my weather station on
January 11th 2024. I payed $30.00 extra for expedite overnight shipment. Then I got a UPS Delivery Date of January 16th 2024. Mi am very angry about this. And the Davis Conpany does not care. They just took my $30.00. Don’t mess with this company if you don’t have to
Purchased a new Davis Vantage Vue Sensor Suite that arrived with a defective humidity sensor (contaminated with grease). The manufacturer made me take the unit apart to diagnose the problem before they agreed to send me a replacement. Isn't that "their" job? The replacement never arrived, so I called to inquire, and they told me that they were on backorder (after the fact). Then, they would not pay return shipping for the defective unit and not ship the replacement unit priority (which I paid for originally).
Worst Service Department I have ever encountered.
I have owned 2 Vantage Pros for a number of years. When they work properly, they are a great weather station. I've always felt that the rain collection measurement was light. Not a serious problem, but a bit annoying.
Recently, my current unit stopped sending wind information (no direction, no speed). After wading through long wait times with support, they tried to work with me on the wind reporting failure. That however only lasted a week. I even have a case number (79), yet all emails go unanswered. This has been going on for weeks. Note, sitting on the phone waiting for support is exhausting and exasperating.
The product is as good as it is supported by the manufacturer. While I would rate the product a 4, support is a 1.
Have you tried to contact Prodata for support re Davis VP2? Forget it! Calls not returned. I regret buying a VP2.
I purchased a nearly 2,000 dollar system from Davis in 2017 and now, less than three years later, Davis sent out an email saying that the product will stop functioning December 31, 2020 due to the SIM Card in the device becoming obsolete and I will need to spend $675 dollars to upgrade the circuit board.
Davis Instruments "prides" itself on producing high quality products that last 7 to 10 years. What they don't tell you is they make their products obsolete in less than 3 years forcing you to buy a brand new one. Complete Scam. I spoke with a nice gentleman at the company who apologized and said that as long as the product lasted over one year, they will not help me in any way.
DO NOT PURCHASE AN EXPENSIVE DAVIS DEVICE UNLESS YOU PLAN TO USE IT FOR LESS THAN 3 YEARS
We bought a Vantage Vue weather station in 2010 basically for hobby use. It's been feeding us weather information from our garden ever since which we have on record on our PC. The hardware has been very robust. Recently, the wind sensor stopped working but we were able to get a replacement part which we could fit ourselves.
We've sometimes had problems with the software but have had excellent support from Prodata Weather Systems who we bought the system from. They don't have a Trust Pilot page or we would give them 5 stars as well.
Not many products nowadays work faultlessly for 10 years. To be able to get a replacement part after this time is impressive.
