Very unhelpful company

Paid for a CCJ that had been put onto my address even though I had sent all the original letters back as the person no longer lived at the address. I now have the financial means to pay off the CCJ as I don't want it on my address. Paid online but then it said there was a problem with my payment even thought the amount has gone out of my bank account. Phoned to ask what has happened and they wouldn't speak to me as the account isn't in my name. Have no idea what to do as the girl was so unhelpful.

Disappointing service resulting in me owing money as a client!

I am writing this review not as someone aggrieved by the inconvenience or conduct of a bailiff pursuing a debt, but as a client who engaged these services and received poor service. I was persuaded by the sales pitch and website about their debt collection success rates and reassured by the claim that “if I don’t get paid, they don’t get paid.” I had also been told by email: “If after an appropriate number of visits, the debt was to be deemed unrecoverable, a Compliance Fee would be charged (this is £79.00 plus VAT). This could also come into effect if the Defendant were to file for insolvency, go to prison, pass away, or emigrate. This is a rare occurrence due to the comprehensive checks prior to taking on a case, as we are only paid on our results, i.e. our Enforcement Fees are added to the Judgment debt, and as such if we do not collect monies owing to you we do not get paid!”
However, after two visits to my debtor, I received only two reports. The first report stated that there had been no answer. The second said the debtor disputed the claim and concluded that further attempts to recover the money owed to me would be futile.

They failed after only two visits and just one apparent attempt to recover the money owed to me under the CCJ and High Court Writ, which I had paid extra to obtain. They are now charging me for that failure without offering any advice, discussion, or review of the case, despite advertising that they will “review additional collection strategies.” I replied to the second report expressing my disappointment at their decision to abandon my case, but the only response I received was an invoice demanding payment.

Overall, the communication was poor, the customer service was disappointing, and the results fell far short of the expectations they had set. It felt as though minimal effort was made, and their initial assurances were greatly overstated.

Excellent service

Excellent service – recovered my unpaid invoices quickly and professionally
I used Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd to recover unpaid invoices from a previous employer. They handled everything efficiently from the start and were very professional throughout the process. The recovery of the funds was much quicker than I expected.
Highly recommended if you need help collecting outstanding payments.

Having almost given up chasing debt

Having almost given up chasing debt, I called the help of DCBL.
They were simply incredible talking me through the process, timeframes and reassured me through what was a highly stressful time.
DCBL are not the bad guys, they genuinely do the right thing by people who are owed money.
I honestly was blown away by my dealings with them.
If you are struggling and losing hope of getting your money back, please do call DCBL.
Jennie Murphy was exceptional and she went the extra mile even personally calling me to let me know the debt had been recovered in full.
People assume that bailiffs are dreadful, they really aren't when you are owed considerable money, they are the people that go above and beyond to help you and get your money for you.
They are absolutely OUTSTANDING !!!

Thank you DCBL and thank you Jennie :0)

Being pursued for a debt I don't owe

I was contacted by the company for a "debt" I owed to POP Telecom for not returning a router after the contract ended. I contacted them to discuss this, as not only was the router advertised as free at the beginning of contract, but I had been trying to return it since March however POP Telecom had not given me the means. They asked me to put proof of this in an email to them, which I did same day. I also contacted POP Telecom and lodged a formal complaint about them taking this to collections without adequete time for returning of the "free router", amongst other issues. POP Telecom replied stating they were going to close the case with DCBL. I called today to confirm this and they said it is not closed, and it cannot be closed unless POP Telecom decides to close it, up until then they will enforce the debt. I explained the situation, that I had emailed over evidence of the situation alongside an explanation and could also forward the email from POP Telecom confirming they were going to contact DCBL. They said that they "couldn't accept evidence" and that no matter what I said, they would continue to collect the debt as long as the client told them to. I told them that I have proof I don't owe the debt, which their agent specifically asked me to send to them on Wednesday alongside a written account, and he said the he didn't know why they asked for that, it's useless, as they don't accept evidence. So basically, they will try to collect this debt despite me providing the proof they asked for that I don't owe it because the client is paying them, not because it's actually owed. My options are to pay it or try and fight it out in court. The system is broken and this company is predatory and only serves corporations.

Awful Customer service with little attempt to show any feeling/compassion

Amanda at DCBL was rude and unfeeling and used scare tactics on the telephone regarding what would happen if I didn’t pay the due amount. She ignored my actual query in entirety, claiming that no one at DCBL is able to answer ANY questions and all they can do is take payments in full or as payment plans. Despite my multiple attempts to explain my query regarding obtaining a refund if evidence is provided that the original charge was paid in full and correctly, Amanda’s only response was to say that we are going around in circles and proceeding to hang up on me. Awful customer service, with absolutely no attempt to treat a person or query with humanity.

had a £450 fine and had already successfully paid it down to £150. Due to severe anxiety and depression, I was then declared medically unfit for work. I emailed DCBL my official fit note well before my next payment due date to inform them of my situation. They completely ignored the email because nobody is apparently working to answer them, and instead sent threatening messages claiming I was in arrears. When I contacted their complaints department to keep the account on hold, they refused. They only backed down and froze the account once I threatened them back with legal action. They try to bully and intimidate vulnerable people, acting like they have authority when they have zero power. The people in customer service seriously need sacking for how they speak to people for what i have seen in reviews on here. Glad I never handled a phone call with them as they would know about it soeaking to me like that. I am gladly prepared to take this to court. Absolute joke of a company.

They refused even discuss his reservations but proceeded with threats of CC judgements and other bullying tactics until he could take no more ! so he just paid …… A tactic no doubt this parasitic organisation relies on ! I’m going to make it my mission by lobbying all relevant authorities along with my MP to change the law so these parasites can’t keep doing this ….. Avoid Avoid Avoid .

Not worth the 1 star

Not worth the 1 star!

I recieved a parking fine from 4 years ago! All of a sudden they were able to find my new address - All my V5C's had been updated within that 4 years!

It wasn't even me driving. On one phone call was told I can give the details of the person driving, the next phone call this wasn't possible.

Very rude customer service. I asked to make a complaint, I wasn't allowed. I asked to speak to a manager, apparently the person I was speaking to was the "highest person" - BS!!! - but they still couldn't help me.

Only care that they have their money!!

Ridiculous. Waste of time. Don't bother trying to fight anything with them.

Bunch of plonkers wrote a strong letter…

Bunch of plonkers wrote a strong letter when they started chasing me about two parking charges saying I over stayed in a car park, Car park ANPR cameras are well known by the client to be bad and failing to register cars leaving the car park! Luckily for me my car is tracked so I can prove I left on time, stated both case numbers in my letter, received an email saying they had removed the charge, now the mongs are sending me letters saying I owe money and a fake letter advertising they was on can’t pay we take it away, talking about CCjs . Absolute crooks of a company , rude staff who hung up the phone because they like to be rude to you, the minute your rude back the sensitive little people couldn’t take it. Anyway another email sent telling them they won’t be getting a penny. But this company are a complete and utter shambles

Genuinely like talking to a brick wall

Genuinely like talking to a brick wall. Tried to explain how I only received a final notice from euro car parks which was already past the appeal date which is insane. Euro car parks then wouldn't speak to me leaving it all to dcbl who instead of trying to help instantly start asking for card details
