Wanted the money first up but didn't deliver

Wanted the money first up but didn't deliver on what we paid for. They ask for additional money when accomodation adjustments are needed. Its not what you pay for. We had Orehana as our deal maker and her communication and organisation wasn't up to scratch. We got to our accomodation in bali and it was booked for the wrong date which we had to pay for additional to stay. We had multiple issues before hand with our accomodation aswell. Don't book with deals away. If I could give no stars I would.

Prompt, knowledgeable and friendly service.

Nothing is too much trouble for Ellyse and her colleagues. She spent a great deal of time finding us a cruise matched to our needs. Any questions were answered promptly and with a friendly demeanour. As we had not travelled for quite a few years, Ellyse and her colleagues were incredibly knowledgeable about the latest travel tips. After the trip we will be able to review our experience and make suggestions.

Sri Lanka- Fiona travel agent and Ranil guide/ driver

Fiona was very good in answering my inquiries swiftly and solving all our issues. We had a wonderful holiday, so much was included in our price. Sri Lanka is an amazing place to visit. We had our own personal guide/driver and when other experiences were included, he made sure that we had a guide just for us. Couldn’t have hoped for a better guide/ driver we always felt very safe. Tipping is essential though for these guides, it might be good to warn. Accomodation was reasonable and adequate for our needs. Could be better but for the price not we were not unhappy.

Fiona from Deals Away has been fantastic. She has done an amazing job organising everything from the beginning to the end. Everything goes on smoothly and every time I enquire something, she is always there to respond and provide assistance. Elise was very pleasant and engaged with helping organise our cruise. She went above and beyond to be helpful especially when it came to flights. I’ve never booked a holiday this way before and found the experience very helpful and assuring.

Can I put zero stars?

Can I put zero stars?
Booked a trip to Egypt which we could not take due to the increasing hostilities and imminent threats of violence in the Middle East. This Tour was October 2023
We requested to transfer the dates to the future when would be safer to travel, we did NOT ask for a refund but alternative dates and stated we would pay for the extra costs.DealsAway would not refund/ transfer or change our booking for us.
In the terms and conditions there is a paragraph that states- DealsAway.com reserves the right to grant transfers or changes to bookings upon request.But DealsAway chose not to grant us a transfer or change of booking!
The smart traveller recommendations of reconsider your need travel mean zero to this reseller also the lack of compassion for the safety and care of their clients is amazing
if war had been declared in the area our- travel insurance would not cover us. We would have had to find and pay for our own evacuation and medical care in a war torn country!
We of course did/could not go and lost ALL OUR MONEY
don’t use them !

We’d like to clarify the circumstances surrounding your booking and why we were unable to accommodate your request. The package you purchased was non-refundable because the cancellation occurred within the no-refund time frame outlined in our terms and conditions. Unfortunately, the supplier responsible for operating this trip on the ground also could not provide a refund or offer alternative dates due to their own policies, leaving us unable to provide these options to you.

At the time of your booking or cancellation, or since, the Australian government had not issued a “Do Not Travel” advisory for the region, which would have allowed for potential insurance claims or special adjustments. Even now, over a year on, people continue to travel to Egypt safely, and tourism remains active in the region.

We understand that your decision not to travel was made out of concern for your safety, and we truly empathise with your situation. However, as a travel agency, we are bound by the terms set by our suppliers, which unfortunately limited our ability to offer flexibility in this case.

We deeply regret that this experience has caused you to lose your holiday and trust in us. Your feedback is incredibly important, and we’ll continue to work with our suppliers to explore ways we can improve flexibility and compassion for our customers in such situations.

Our CEO sent you an email personally advising as a token of goodwill, we'd provide you with another holiday at a 25% discount, which you can still take us up on when you feel the time is right.
