Don’t trust the advertised return policy

I purchased a bike from Decathlon, but after about 7 days and only one use, I decided to upgrade to an electric model (roughly twice the price).

Unfortunately, despite the fact that their policy clearly states a 30-day return period, when I went back to the store I was told that since the bike had been used, they would only take it back at around half of the original price.

In my opinion, this is not consistent with what is advertised at the time of purchase.

I strongly recommend checking the actual return conditions in detail before buying and not relying solely on the advertised policy.

The go-to place for sports gear

If you need anything even remotely related to sports in Italy, this is the place to go.
Clothes, gear, random accessories, whatever. I’ve always found what I was looking for.
Good quality, fair prices. Easy choice every time.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Horrible experiene in buying products online. In person assistance was basically non-xistent. And try to retunr an item bought online from a partner is hard as hell.

Disappointing experience with aggressive delivery driver

I purchased a treadmill from Decathlon, and unfortunately the delivery experience was extremely negative due to the behaviour of the delivery driver from Golilla S.R.L.

I regularly order items online and am used to dealing with delivery services, but in this case the driver was aggressive and intimidating, which made the experience very distressing. The treadmill weighed nearly 70 kg, and the driver insisted on leaving it on the street rather than just inside the gate, which was literally two steps away. I was told this was company policy. For obvious safety reasons, I was unable to move such a heavy item myself, and when I explained this, the driver began arguing in an aggressive manner.

This experience left me shaken and very disappointed. I would like to add that, aside from this specific incident with the delivery driver, the rest of the purchase process with Decathlon was handled well.

Worst shopping experience

I’ve been waiting over a month for a delivery to arrive. First the delivery failed because Decathlon didn’t gave the courier the correct address (that is properly entered into my account details on their webpage). And from then on, just a bunch of apologies and excuses, but not a solution. Decathlon have not once contacted me, but only been reactive to my messages. No initiative, no solution. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

I purchased a Van Rysel bike

I purchased a Van Rysel bike, and when it was just over a year old, a small crack appeared in the frame. I took the bike to the nearest Decathlon store, where the staff were very polite and took down the details and photos.

After nearly two weeks and a couple of reminders, I received a response stating, "This break is a typical handlebar return or pressure on the maintenance stand." However, if the handlebar had indeed struck the frame (which it never did), it would have impacted in a completely different location. Additionally, my maintenance stand supports the bike at a different point, beneath the saddle tube.

Despite Decathlon/Van Rysel offering a 5-year warranty on the frame, it seems they are looking for any excuse to avoid honoring it.

Misleading description of product

I've tried to leave the review on Decathlon's site but it seems offline. I bought a Dundee sleeping bag from Skandika from Decathlon's e-commerce. Said sack was peddled on the e-commerce to resist to -20°C but the official specs give +2°C as the limit temperature. Which is misleading and illegal under Italian law. We-ll see how this ends, as they contacted me back to, they say, clear the misunderstanding. I might modify this review if the solution proposed is fair.

Edit : The reseller, Max Trade Gmbh, was swift and very forthcoming proposing a partial refund and I am keeping the sack. Much kudos to them. The same cannot be said of Decathlon which did nothing at every step, although by law it is entirely their responsibility, relegating everything to the partner. They should have solved this issue swiftly, as per the law, and afterwards take it on the partner. Imitation Amazon, done very badly. The market economy is good because you can choose where to throw your money. I certainly won't give another penny to Decathlon or it's brands

in one word awful and disaster…

in one word awful and disaster experience. Its more than two week that I'm communicate with them to use return service but I couldn't. Its first time I see such customer service and the interesting thing is they mention 365 day return everywhere.
in una parola esperienza orribile e disastrosa. Sono più di due settimane che contatto con loro per usare il servizio di reso ma non ci sono riuscito. È la prima volta che vedo un servizio clienti del genere e la cosa interessante è che menzionano il reso entro 365 giorni ovunque.
