Lack of communication and consideration

I placed an order which qualified for free postage but was surprised to receive a letter from HMRC billing me for over £25 worth of tariffs. I then e-mailed deG and they apologised and admitted it was their mistake.I replied giving them some additional details and the next time they e-mailed it was to notify of a refund for the goods I had ordered.I don't know if I am still liable for the import tariff. In my initial e-mail to them I indicated that IF I liable for the tariff I wished to cancel for a full refund. This shabby company has now lleft in the position of not receiving the goods I ordered because I needed them and not clear whether I have to pay the tariff. Very poor customer care. I now have to find a reputable company and start from scratch in order be able to buy what I need.
