Very bad mammogram experience

On June 24, 2026 I visited the Polly Drummond Hill location of Delaware Imaging Network to get a routine annual mammogram. I am 82yo and have a back problem, camptocormia, that prevents me from standing erect. When the technician positioned me for the first image and applied the usual pressure the pain seemed much worse than I recalled. I had set my cane aside, as it was in her way. I held still as long as possible, but moved and cried out in the last few seconds. When she released the pressure plates I felt myself begin to fall backwards. Just before I hit the floor, the technician caught me from behind under my arms. I asked her to continue to lower me to the floor. I was able to stand up on my own. Then, and only then, did she offer to allow me to sit in a chair for the exam. I accepted. She seemed to struggle getting me in the correct position in the machine while I was sitting, particularly for the first images on the left side.
I have had annual mammograms since my 40's, with never any results that required a follow-up. My result for this exam said there was some "asymmetrical tissue" observed on the left side, and I should arrange a follow-up. Those were the first images. Due to my bad experience, I have not booked the recommended follow-up test yet, but requested and received my images on a CD from Delaware Imaging to take with me to another provider. I provided this information on a customer service questionnaire to Delaware Imaging. I was promised a phone call from a manager to discuss, but that did not occur. I have received a couple texts to contact them, which I did, without ever being able to speak with someone who could help me. I will never use their services again.
