Payment on an accepted policy is almost…

Payment on an accepted policy is almost always 20-40 working days delayed from their period of payment. Lies on phone calls. No manager ever calls back. I’m not taking legal action, even then they don’t take it seriously. Also I’m a high risk medical patient in hospital depending heavily on my rent protection and they are aware yet lies after lies. I would not ever recommend this company to anyone

Tenant stopped paying rent 4.5months…

Tenant stopped paying rent 4.5months ago. Devon Bay Insurance company were notified in early July 2026. They spin you in circles, refusing to pay as per the rent protection scheme until Section 8 notice is served, so they delay getting it served, and then promise you payment imminently and it never arrives. Send you multiple repeat forms to complete, but never action them. Between your estate agent, GoodLord rent and legal insurance broker, Devon Bay and the solicitors, nothing moves fast or even at all. Avoid at all costs.

Accepted rent protection claim still unpaid

Claim accepted, payment still outstanding

My experience with Devon Bay Insurance has been extremely poor.

I have a valid rent protection claim which, as far as I have been informed, has been accepted and payment is due. Despite this, the money remains outstanding.

I have repeatedly chased for an update and have been given assurances and timescales, yet those timescales have passed without payment being made. There appears to be a significant difference between what is promised and what actually happens.

For an insurer dealing with rent protection, policyholders should be able to rely on valid claims being dealt with promptly and payments being made when they are due. Instead, I have been left repeatedly chasing money that I should already have received.

Communication and promises are no substitute for actually settling an accepted claim.

I will update this review if and when Devon Bay Insurance makes the outstanding payment.
