Horrible customer service and G7…

Horrible customer service and G7 product is sub-par compared to G6, the company won't ask it if you want to change sensors they just ship what they want. Dexcom and Tandem just don't work well together, I'd rather have my medtronic back or switch back to test strips

Unreliable

I've used G6 for several years. The word I would use to describe it is unreliable:
1. Sensor never lasts the 10 days it is meant to. It either stops working or one gets "sensor error" message which is the first indicator that the sensor is about to pack up.
2. Sensor is often inaccurate. It can give ridiculous readings which I can sense are wrong and this is always confirmed by a finger-prick test.
3. Dexcom support used to be really good. Then, no doubt as a cost-saving device, they moved the support off-shore. This support is hopeless: they offer no solutions (refer below): all they can do is send out a replacement sensor. Some speak good English but some are dreadful.
4. The app is a disaster. I use it on a Samsung phone which is on their list of approved models. When an alert comes in, the image often (but not always) starts rotating back and forth. This stops one using the phone including getting a blood sugar reading. This rotation usually goes on for about 5 minutes but can be for much longer. There's nothing that can be done other than to wait - you can't even turn the device off or swipe the surface. I've reported this repeatedly to Dexcom and the support usually don't know how to give a fix. Some have offered a fix, such as changing the phone settings or uninstalling and reinstalling the app, They then close the case, even though the alleged fix never works. I've complained about this and these complaints are always ignored.
5. The one outstanding thing with Dexcom is if you get past the support team and get your case raised to a higher level team, the people there are really good. I've only once managed to get an issue raised to that level but the Irish lady who answered my concerns on that occasion was really good.

Customer Service is total TRASH!

Received notice over a week ago about a critical product recall. Several attempts to call various numbers provided or listed have failed. Just put on hold for hours. Left phone number for call back. Never received a call back. This company obviously doesn’t care about its customers or their health. Look elsewhere, without quality US based customer service and technical support their product is worthless!

Minus 20 stars if possible.

I would give their customer service a minus 20 stars if I could. They can't speak English well enough to conduct a conversation. Worst of ALL there are ROOSTERS (YES IS SAID ROOSTERS) crowing so loudly in the background I can barely hear them speaking. I asked "is that was a rooster crowing (for I was flabbergasted) and they said "well, it is 4 in the morning here!" Like THAT is why they are in the house???? I asked "what country are you in" and they said ASIA. I assume they are told not to give specifics of their location. Ridiculous. Absolutely Ridiculous. I don't remember date but it was in April 2025.

As a type 2 diabetic as they are…

As a type 2 diabetic as they are promoting it for it's terrible. We don't need to monitoring this at all. So Dexcome one + is not for anyone at all.

I wrote to them asking some questions regarding this and here is the reply full with lies

*Thanks so much for your enquiry regarding the Dexcom CGMs.

It really does depend on your personal needs as to whether or not a continuous glucose monitor is required for managing your diabetes.

While it may not be necessary for all people living with type 2 diabetes, I speak to people on a daily basis who have achieved significant reductions in their glucose levels as a result of using the Dexcom.

There are multiple benefits that the Dexcom can provide, these are just a few:

No finger pricking – the Dexcom gives a reading of your glucose levels every five minutes, and that is the equivalent of doing 288 manual finger prick tests in a single day, giving much more meaningful and actionable data.

For instance, if a person only manually tested twice per day, once before breakfast and once at night, they would not be seeing any of the fluctuations that might be occurring with their glucose levels. Dexcom shows you your glucose levels at all times and allows you to modify diet, exercise and medication as required much more easily.

According to a recent clinical trial, nine out of ten people surveyed said that they were making better choices about their health as a result of using the Dexcom.*

3 faulty sensors out of three.

My first sensor quit working a couple of days in. My second sensor worked for two weeks, but was constantly off by 20-45 points. My third sensor, a replacement sensor for the first faulty one, quit after 24 hours. They are sending me yet another one. I’d rather have a refund, and will be calling them tomorrow.

UNRELIABLE GARBAGE AND NO CALL BACKS OR CARE

No customer service, many non replaced sensor G7 failures, and a recalled receiver that I've wasted many hours trying to contact with no returned calls as computer promised. This is far from a professional company with absolutely no customer care and no replacements for their garbage unless you want to spend a hour or more getting each failed sensor replaced. AVOID THEM

Big failure rate despite immaculate cleaning beforehand.

DEXCOM ONE +
I have tried to give this a year's trial...nearly there.
After 24 hours, accurate and fantastic for my persistent hypoglycaemia.
DEXCOM do organise replacements and their staff are very helpful but with DHL I miss them lot for pickup and collection ( not Dexcom's fault but incredibly time consuming).
Failure rate averages at immediate to 7 days.
They need to perfect their technology.
I will certainly feed this back to GHB endocrinology that they need to find an alternative supplier.

Appalling company

Appalling company. I self fund my sensors from the competitor. I wanted to try these sensors as they apparently connect to my Apple Watch so I don’t have to carry my phone around.

I’ve attempted to contact them by various mean on eight occasions and absolutely nothing.

Reading the reviews on here, I’ve had a lucky escape.

I’m guessing they are happy with overcharging the NHS and don’t need any self-funded customers who are simply trying to manage their diabetes and not be a burden on the BHS.

Poor G7 sensors and problems working with Tandem X2 Slim Pump

As a G7 user with my Tandem t:slim x2 pump. The inaccuracy is very scary as it adjusts my bolus. I have had readings that are 1 or 2 mmol out. Last night I had 2 sensors fail within 2 minutes of fitting them. I spoke to Dexcom this morning and all they state is that the G7 is compatible. If you have received any Rev 007 sensors, they do not work with the X2 pump. I fitted a Rev 006 (underlined LBL number) and it worked first time.
This is medical technology and people depend on it, Dexcom support is useless and they just don't give a stuff. They won't escalate or investigate any problems, they are just taking the NHS money. It's deplorable behavior. Switch to Freestyle Libre ...

Boom, your expensive sensor bricks itself…

Dexcom is a complete scam hiding behind medical tech. Their sensors and transmitters are overpriced. The app is so badly developed it rejects half of modern phones without warning, I found out AFTER buying the device that my phone isn’t even compatible. If you stop a session early? Boom, your expensive sensor bricks itself, no recovery, no clear warning upfront. Classic planned obsolescence wrapped in medical necessity. Stay far away unless you enjoy wasting money and fighting broken tech daily.

Warning using Dexcom G7 puts your life at risk. Not recommended for type one diabetics.

The Dexcom G7 is the worst sensor that Dexcom has ever made. It is highly inaccurate 80 to 90% of the time. I have used the Dexcom products since G3 in 2006 FDA approves CGM‘s to have a variance of 20% from actual (either over or under actual blood glucose) yet the G7 falls below actual 95% of the time. When my blood glucose is 131 the G7 is saying it is less than 40. YOU CANNOT RELY ON THE G7 TECHNOLOGY. WARNING, YOU MAY BE RISKING YOUR LIFE USING THIS TECHNOLOGY. THEY APPARENTLY KNOW THE TECHNOLOGY IS CRAP BECAUSE THEY READILY HAND OUT REPLACEMENT SENSORS WITH LITTLE OR NO QUESTIONING AS TO WHAT WENT WRONG. THIS IS DANGEROUS! IF YOU OR A LOVED, ONE SUFFERS A TRAGEDY BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY AND DEFECTIVE TECHNOLOGY, YOU SHOULD SUIT DEXCOM FOR EVERYTHING THEY ARE WORTH. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO DEXCOM REPEATEDLY. THEY ALWAYS JUST SEND OUT A NEW YET STILL DEFECTIVE SENSOR. IN THE MEANTIME, I HAVE HAD SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES BY TRYING TO RELY ON THE G7 TECHNOLOGY. TO USE G7 SAFELY, YOU MUST DO FINGERSTICK BLOOD GLUCOSE TESTS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. WHAT’S THE POINT OF HAVING A CGM IF YOU HAVE TO STICK YOUR FINGER SIX OR SEVEN TIMES A DAY. DEXCOM HAS TRIED TO MAKE THE SENSOR SMALLER AND LAST LONGER TO ADDRESS THE LAZINESS AND VANITY OF USERS AND THEY HAVE SACRIFICED ACCURACY AND TRUSTWORTHINESS. THIS DEVICE IS NO GOOD FOR TYPE ONE DIABETICS. IT IS NOT ACCURATE. IT IS DANGEROUS. THIS IS A FAULTY PRODUCT.

They do a robo call 2 weeks ahead then you have to call to see where the sensors are I’m going out of town for 3 weeks and they say that there is nothing they can do. I asked if they could send me 2 to get me through and he didn’t care! I thinks it time to switch where they come from! I would have given a 0 if I could this is the second time I had a concern and it falls on deaf ears!!

An Absolutely unsafe device. Totally unreliable.

An Absolutely appalling device! G6… it Said my BS was 2.8 when it was 8.2! Several episodes of wildly inaccurate readings. Company tried every which way to blame me …ie I must have moved it, touched it, showered with it on …what !!!!??? Shows no signal when 6” away from my iPhone..I could go on ! Persevered with it for 8 months ..total waste of money and it’s not cheap . Going on now to report using the yellow card system.
Quite frankly it’s a scam and a very unsafe device ..don’t rely on this device to keep you safe or the support team to understand, neither are effective.
