DONT TOUCH DFS

Only 1 star as it not possible to leave no stars.
We bought the Sanantonio suite and it was delivered 1 week before Christmas.
When purchasing we were told about creases and gaps while the leather settled we excepted this but after less than a week the leather has stretched so much it looks like it's a good few years old and the seats have already dipped even though we only sit on it for a couple of hours in the evening 2 service managers have attended 1st one a waste of space 2nd one spent half hour pumping and slapping it(no difference made)but said if we didn't have insurance he would have replaced extra foam in seats ,head rests are baggy as well. So now DFS are saying normal wear and tear! .
I have had many leather suites over the years and never had the leather stretch at all ,I still have one in my dining room that is 15 years old with no stretched leather at all .
I would never use DFS again and have no intention of leaving it at this

We will never buy or recommend DFS again

We bought the DFS power furniture unit in October and in April the left end unit became noisy and tended to look like it was leaning away from the other joined units.
DFS sent a repair engineer who fitted a new metal brace to stop the noise but said he couldn’t sort the other problem!
DFS then sent a furniture manager who on arrival said
“I can see you have been sitting on the lounger wrong, and the pile shows me that that it has had some use!
So that is why it is a bit worn, when we queried that statement as the lounger unit was not even a year old and we are pensioners who don’t weigh much, he said that these units are like LEGO, and THEY… should have told you when you bought them!
After a complaining letter to DFS, they phoned back and advised us that as far as they are concerned, there is nothing wrong with the furniture.
We will never buy from DFSagain and certainly will never recommend them to anyone.

I have already left a 1 star review…

I have already left a 1 star review because there isn’t an option for minus 10. Had a really bad experience with dfs with bs replies to emails etc. You can’t get to speak to anyone and yet now I have left a negative review they want to communicate. My order number. A9ZP33515. Absolute joke this company.

I bought an electric recliner sofa and…

I bought an electric recliner sofa and chair in mid-January at the Mahon point store, was promised delivery
in 3 months Over 4 months later, Im still waiting.. the helpline number is not helpful at all as they don't seem to have any more access to information than I have. The DFS tracing doesn't really track your order at all. It just puts up a delivery date which is still up there even though it's now passed that date... very frustrating company to deal with.. I've paid the full price for my furniture. STILL WAITING.......

Poor experience with DFS

Poor experience - will never use again.

This poor behaviour continued when Laura a senior customer advisor called me yesterday concerning my other review. She was polite at first although the second call today, she was dismissive and she just wanted to get me off the phone and even hung up - it was uncomfortable to say the least. DFS are charging me £100 for a sofa that I never received.

Additionally, Laura then gets the store manager from Slough to call me. After that experience why would I want a call back and cause me more upset.

I just wanted a refund.

I Had No Idea How Bad DFS Actually Are

DFS are producing very poor quality furniture. They don’t want to help once they have got your order/money. I have a sofa that is only 10 weeks old but it looks 10 years old!! Please avoid and go elsewhere. You’re welcome.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. Rejected an armchair at delivery as it was threadbare in places, I couldn't believe it. I'm waiting 2.5 weeks for someone to actually help me resolve this and give me my money back. They don't want to know. Don't buy the Ilkey armchair whatever you do. In fact, don't buy from DFS!

DFS Mahon Point Cork are appalling

DFS Mahon Point Cork are appalling - DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM or indeed any DFS location.

I ordered a dressing table and stool for my daughter on Dec 13th in Mahon Point store Cork and as of today April 11th, nothing delivered and NEVER RECEIVED A SINGLE CALL from anyone in DFS to update me.
There was a 7 week delivery time when I ordered, which I was fine with. 7 weeks is long gone.
I've called the Support number numerous times and been promised callbacks - nothing. I've gone back into the store in Mahon Point, Cork - I was told then (about a month ago) that the stool was actually in the van outside the door and I offered to take it home with me but they said it's better to deliver together with the table. I was then I would receive a call that afternoon, nothing. I then received a call from a delivery driver the following Tuesday saying delivery would be that Friday - nothing, no further contact. I called in again, was told it was actually the following Friday and the CX rep promised me he would manage to completion. Friday came and went, no delivery, no call, nothing. Have never received an email except to confirm the order.
So today I called again - the Support rep in Scotland said she would email management to contact me. I don't trust her, I don't trust anyone in DFS.
How can you actually work for a company that is so dishonest and just breathtakingly incompetent? I will be lodging a complaint with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and then beginning legal action through the Small Claim Court.

Rock hard sofas

Have two couches less than two weeks and to say I am in pain sitting on them is an understatement. The foam is rock hard and we are not a heavy family, but each of us is throbbing from sitting on what feels like concrete. The arms of the sofas are lumpy and misshapen, despite following the plumping guidelines. Absolute rip off for what we recieved. Never again.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

Zero communication through to store. Needed a small problem sorting & customer service were unable to put me through STOKE-ON-TRENT branch despite the lady who sold me the sofa declaring if I had any problems to just give them a call. This is impossible as they DONT do that. The stores do not speak to customers once the deal is done. Customer service email the store and supposedly the store replies within 72 hours. What a joke! I didn’t have 72 hours as I needed to change the colour before the order went through so it was touch & go if I’d be able to. My only option was to take time off work to travel in to said store for something easily rectified over the phone. Absolutely disgraceful! Customer service are in Scotland & the operator had a VERY STRONG Glaswegian accent, sounded drunk & illegible. Now I understand Scottish as my mother is Scottish! However I really struggled with the thickness of this accent.
Then when I get my delivery date through there’s an option (a link) to change it which I attempted to do as I won’t be in on said day.
THE LINK IS INVALID!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE FROM THIS MICKY MOUSE enterprise as it never used to be so bad!

We bought a 3 seater reclining sofa and…

We bought a 3 seater reclining sofa and chair on January 2nd after spending months looking for a quality one. We went ahead and placed the order and was told it would take 3 weeks. After the date passed I contacted dfs to see what was going on and was told the delivery company "humber services" would be in touch. Days went passed and nothing happened so I called dfs and was assured they had my correct details and would be in touch. A week later still nothing so again I called them and asked for humber services direct phone number to call them direct but couldn't get through. Another week passed and still no sofa and no contact from humber or dfs. I eventually got in touch with humber who had the incorrect phone number for me so once they got the right number I got a text saying it would be delivered next day. I declined as I was at work so agreed the following Wednesday. Tuesday night I got a confirmation text of the time and then on the day they was supposed to deliver it they "broke down". Seems they break down every week!! Or when they get behind on deliveries they auto send the same pre typed text as an excuse. Upon checking other dfs customers they also get the same excuse of breakdowns.
2 months later the sofa arrived but missing the ezygliders we paid for!!.. again called dfs who told me I have to wait 72hrs!!.
All in all its been a stressful 2 months since buying a sofa and clearly not 3 weeks delivery like they claimed.
I have to say we will never ever use dfs again and they need to get a new delivery company.
Awful experience avoid.

If dfs want to contact me with my order number to confirm this is a legitimate review they can.

/edit, after being told to wait 14days for the eazyglides I paid for that was missing, I still don't have them!! Yet more proof of complete and utterly jokers DFS is.
Needless to say I will be calling them and demanding a refund and have half a mind to send the whole sofa back for a refund to male a point.

Second Edit/ dfs wouldn't give me a refund and instead send these tiny things out 2 weeks later. As you can they are not fit fir purpose and definitely not worth £63 I paid.
Thankfully the repair guy who came to repair the faulty sofa has some proper cup gliders on his van. As you can see they fit perfectly and do the Job.

Avoid DFS

I would tell anyone not to buy any furniture from DFS not unless you are happy to get ripped off!

I brought two power chairs with lumber and head support in July 2024 and the they were delivered in October 2024 which were not cheap.

Come February 2025 I noticed that one of the chairs had sunk down on the right side of the chair and left a gap between the arm and the seat cushion and the arm on the second chair developed a big dip.

I contacted DFS who said a service manager out to look at the chairs and he stated that it was softening of the seats!

I stated that if it was softening of the chairs it would be equally of the same on the rest of the chairs, he then stated that he can get the inners replaced at there cost!

I stated that I did not agree and at being only four months old and for the amount the chairs cost me they are quite clearly not fit for purpose.

DFS did not want to take the chairs back, so I went to the Furniture Ombudsman to make a complaint (the ombudsman still haven't had a response from DFS)

Then DFS came back to me to say that they will take the chairs back for a refund, but only if I pay a usage fee of £800.00!

I stated that the was no way I was going to pay £800.00 for four month usage fee.

Then DFS came back to me to say that the best they can do is £618.00 usage fee as far as they are concern there are nothing wrong with the chairs and I have only a short period to pay this usage fee. Then once I do that they will then collect the chairs and cancel my finance agreement!

I totally disagreed with this and I emailed their manager Tom at their store at DFS Cribbs and asked why do I have to pay for a usage fee charge and his replied was:

We would be looking to sell these 2nd hand after new interiors and professional clean at about £695, the

parts and cleaning costs. Your contribution towards this of £618 from yourselves would cover a single chair

and not the charges and reductions of both.

So I responded well if you are having to replace the inners of the chairs to sell on the 2nd hand market then there is quite clearly a fault!

Then he never replied after that!

I even emailed DFS CEO's Nick Smith & Tim Stacey with no response either!

I feel that DFS are quite clearly a company to avoid at all costs they have no morals and they lie to their customers too!
