My whole experience with this business…

My whole experience with this business and the joiner they sent to fit my floor has been an absolute disaster. The joiners they use are a joke. They lack skills, professionalism and manners. I bough laminated floor back in October, when I moved in my house. The experience of having the floor fitted has been less than one star. The floor has lifted few weeks after being fitted, and both the joiners and the shop owner have been MIA despite many attempts to contact them via phone, via email, face to face in the shop. 4 months later, my floor is still lifted and neither of them has made one real attempt to fix the floor.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience from start to finish with flooring purchased. Happy to take payment but offer very poor customer service. Still awaiting our flooring to be finished correctly 3 weeks later. The shop takes no ownership just blames the customer. Would not recommend this shop, staff rude and arrogant.

We strongly disagree with the characterisation of both our service and our staff in this review. Throughout the process, we have communicated clearly and have taken steps to address the matters raised. At no point has responsibility been ignored.

Certain aspects of the flooring finish are dependent on site conditions and customer choices, which were discussed in advance. Delays in completion were not due to a lack of action on our part, and we do not accept claims that our team behaved in a rude or arrogant manner.

We remain prepared to complete any outstanding agreed work and would welcome direct contact to bring this to a close.

Hall stairs and landing

Very knowledgeable and gave good advice Hall stairs and landing was fitted a tricky job due to the area shape . The fitters were superb and matched it perfectly not an easy job to do due to the size and shape of the area. They came out a few times to measure and check as it was arkward but it went down perfectly and looks beautiful I would recommend them and their fitters.

Direct carpets excellent

Direct carpets have given us Excellent service from choosing our carpets to fitting them .The fitters are the best we have ever had very professional.Communication with direct carpets was excellent and cost was very reasonable .We would definitely recommend direct carpets to family and friends .⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Superb Experience

The staff were exceptionally helpful from choosing a carpet right through to laying the carpet.
We could not have asked for more.

Brilliant experience

Brilliant experience. Quite a big job. All downstairs changed to LVT wood from carpet and a new stairs and bedroom carpet fitted. The quality of the workmanship was top notch. And the lvt fitters were ever so engaging and so sociable which made the small disruption sail along. Can’t recommend enough. Thankyou direct carpets.

Got a few rooms fitted in my house today, I have to say the whole experience was excellent from the understanding of my budget to the fitting of my carpet , it was first class, everything was done on time and with professionalism. Thank you

Not a pleasant experience

Not a pleasant experience. Not very happy people in the shop never smile not very helpful. Picked my carpet up and wasn’t happy with a big lumpy join in it, to be told basically that’s how it works for £244!! And to pay another £40 for one side re-doing. Wasn’t advised on any joins at all.
Don’t get me wrong the 7 sides on the other pieces are done nice, but 1 side ruins it looks cheap and unprofessional. Not very good customer service.

Basically your’e saying we’ve given you rubbish carpet and expected diamonds. And i want it all in one piece. No.. i gave you 4 pieces and wanted 4 pieces binding with no joins or bumps. If the fabric comes in certain lengths then surely as a carpet shop you start a new roll and use your smaller pieces for smaller carpets! Regardless of the customer is always right, i never said that. I said i am unhappy with the finish of the job and that’s my right. I am paying for a service and i am unhappy with it. Your customer service & attitude towards people is incredibly shocking & rude

This day and age we can accept when the customer is not always right. In your case: you wanted the taped runner in one piece. But you had given me it to do in 4 pieces. I did what I could but you had given me a rock and wanted a diamond in return. I can only do so much. The tape had to be joined because the fabric is not an infinite length. I said if you have a word with your fitter, there could possibly be enough carpet to cut said join out. Or I gave you the option to purchase more fabric. I would not be making anymore money. You would only be paying for the metres used.

Unpleasant Customer Service and Experience

A very difficult and unpleasant experience. At each step the attitude seeped through, initially I thought it was just me not providing enough information, and being polite, I continually apologised and provided more. I have a narrowboat and wanted to put some whipped rugs throughout. The first order was small it was just for 3 step rugs as I thought let’s try them out. I liked the rugs and the finish and decided to order a slightly larger rug in the same carpet to go at the bottom of the steps. So, I dropped an email to the company asking if this could be done, and that’s when it really fell apart.

At all times there was a full thread in the email trail of the original order along with the invoice and I provided the invoice number again just in case thinking that from this they would be able to see what stock they had used.

To cut a long email story short, the true level of their non existent customer service shone through, the final email from Direct Carpet Co is below; (oh a picture was sent).

‘’I said on the 8th: I need to know everything you want in the same carpet to make sure there is enough carpet.
You replied with whatever you want wouldn’t be in the same carpet.
I have dealt with 100’s people since you. I have no idea what carpet you had and I asked for a photo. You haven’t helped me.
I can’t keep replying as I am far too busy.’’

At the time I hadn’t thought of the rug to go at the bottom of the steps which is clearly my fault for not being forward thinking and offering them more business.

Maybe I am just getting old but is this the endemic attitude of how business today treat customers.

I would suggest looking elsewhere and finding a company who really deserves your business.

All I wanted was some rugs.

This is a very unfair review. Written whilst you were frustrated.

Before the original order was placed you knew there was not much carpet but you were very specific on what you wanted.

I been very clear and asked for everything you needed from that carpet before I cut it up.
You can't then be annoyed when you suddenly want something more.
I told you numerous times there was no carpet left. I feel sorry you felt the need for a bad review; despite the countless emails sent back and forth. I was polite and courteous and had to keep repeating myself. I had asked more than once for photos so I could try match something. I had the invoice and it was no help. You did not forward anything.

Simply Superb.

Simply Superb.
No other words to descibe the whole experience. I was acknowledged when I walked into the shop & then given time to look. I wanted a lounge & open-stair carpet. Did I want something similar or something completely different ? I had no idea. I was shown something similar & others completely different. I chose something different & am I glad I did with the help of the salesman .
Everything else was on time as promised, the measuring, the quality fitting & the follow up call to see if I was happy with everything. Nice touch,That shows they care.
Am I delighted with my carpet ? You bet your life I am.
Would I recomend Direct Carpet Co. Brighouse.? I would not go elsewhere.

very poor experience

Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience with this company. We have been left with a poor finish to our carpet particularly on the landing which has been blamed on uneven floor boards. Floor boards that have been down for many years with no carpet problems before. The owners customer service skills left a lot to be desired. Phone calls were ignored, conversations were confrontational and argumentative and there were no apologies at any point. The after care left a lot to be desired and we are left with a problem that we will have to pay for to fix. My mistake was paying up front before the job was complete. I won’t go back to Direct carpets. For those of you who do, I am hoping the owner has been on a customer service and after care skills course in the mean time.
Update 16.7.19 The response below is exactly what we expected back from Direct Carpets the tone of which simply supports the problems we highlight above.

Direct Carpet Company have just completed the fitting of new carpets in our bedrooms, landing and stairs. The work was carried out to a very high standard on the dates provided at the time of purchase.
The fitting was painstakingly undertaken with all the edges cut in, perfectly. All staff were very courteous and co-operative at all times. Many thanks indeed. We would use the company again without hesitation and recommend to everyone.
