Direct Mobility Hire Couldn’t Care
1 star given because I couldn’t give -10.
This company is so bad I don’t even know where to start. We hired an electric wheelchair from them in London via a third party company in Scotland.
First day out the chair battery failed after only 1 mile which I put down as my fault for not charging before use.
Day 2 it failed again in under a mile after being on charge overnight.
When I contacted the company with the issue I spoke with John the managing director who asked me what he expected me to do about it and to get a taxi back to our hotel.
I explained to him that my wife was unable to walk (due to a stroke a number of years ago) and that I was unable to push this weight of a chair up the ramp on a black cab taxi.
His next suggestion totally floored me, he suggested we abandon the wheelchair on the street (Outside Horses Guard Whitehall London) and that they would pick it up the following day.
I had thankfully taken the charger with me that day and with assistance from a couple of policemen and a vendor within Horses Guard we managed to charge the wheelchair enough to get it into a taxi.
Luckily I was with my wife at the time but think of the consequences had she been on her own.
Two days of a 3 day break ruined due to a complete sham of a company.
Getting this level of support and attitude from the companies managing director is not only shocking but also unbelievable.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
We got a call from the operations manager who offered and got a replacement chair later that day. Sadly I missed his name, he seemed a totally decent and caring human being to whom I extend my thanks and the same to the gentleman who delivered the replacement.
You guys are too good to work for such a company.
AGAIN DO NOT USE
