Hi,
Anyone did with them GP referral and
never get the qualifications???
I did mine in 2014-15 and never received the qualifications!

Does any one knows whats happend with this company??? Did PT L3 back in 2017 and need a cooy of my certification…

I did gp referral course back in 2013 and have email saying just anatomy and physiology to complete. finally, had the time to sit down and study the anatomy and physiology. phoned active IQ to make sure they had all the other modules. they had only registered one module.

Hi Everyone, If you get a chance to read this review. We are Drummond Education a training provider in the same industry. We are very sad to hear of the liquidation of Discovery Learning, (there but for the good grace go many of us it seems). Anyway, I wanted to try and help any local students out if I could. If you are local to one of our centres either Maidenhead or Edinburgh I would be happy for you to finish your training or get signed off with us if you would like too with no charge for the training. We are an Active IQ centre so if you were on an Active IQ centre course we would be delighted to help out and see if we can get you complete. Do get in touch if you need help to complete through the drummond education website or telephone us. They don't allow numbers here.

UPDATED: In the same boat as lots of people - devastating. Money paid for qualifications I will not get. I paid for two courses (masters package and pre and post pregnancy). The masters was paid via Direct Debit unfortunately to Omni Capital Retail Finance which is not covered by the Consumer Act. However for the pre and post pregnancy course I paid via Direct Debit Card and I have now been issued a full refund by my bank by claiming back through Chargeback! If anyone has paid via Credit Card you should be covered under the Consumer Act - check online. If you paid via Direct Debit Card you might be able to get your money back via Chargeback - check with your bank. I really hope people can now start getting back what they are owed - best of luck everyone!

My daughter is in the same situation as many others who have posted here. I have contacted the YMCA who are trying to help locate any certificates for completed courses. I have also emailed Martin Bell at Castle View, but have had no response. I called Castle View today and the guy on reception politely gave a company line that all enquiries should go the Liquidator for Discovery Learning. Unfortunately in these type of cases any assets that Discovery Learning had will get divided amongst all creditors; students, teachers, any other company they owed money to .. and that is after the liquidator has taken their high level of fees ;o( It may still be worth trying to shame Castle View into taking action to avoid reputational damage as they share Directors with Discovery, so anyone good at social media may be able to get their attention. Good luck with getting your qualifications and any money owed.

Absolutely disgusting shut down the compnay and not replying to any emails or phone calls!

I completed my level 2 fitness instructor course and they haven't even sent my certificate through! was waiting to sit my level 3 exams, if anyone else knows how to get in contact with them or has anymore information please contact me, i just want to finish my level three personal training course and get my level 2 certificates off them.

I'm hoping that this review will help others in a similar situation.

I did my level 2 and level 3 course with Discovery. I thankfully have already passed my level 2 with certification but my level 3 i only had my A&P theory to resit and my portfolio to submit to be qualified.

I then received a letter last week from a liquidation company regarding Discovery going into administration, which is when i saw their website was no longer active and found myself on TrustPilot to see i was not the only one dealing with this.

However, through some digging i have found a possible solution. YMCA, the awarding body for Discovery, are currently doing an amazing job of trying to deal with the fallout of Discovery Learning's closure. They have set up a page on their site for guidance and an email address to contact for them to review each individual case. They are currently dealing with a lot of unhappy Discovery customers right now, so the kind lady i spoke to at YMCA said it may take time but they will get back to everyone.

If you search YMCA Awards website, go to "Students" and in the left side bar click on "My training provider has closed", you will find all the information you need to open up a dispute for resolution.

I'm so thankful that YMCA are holding up a much needed light for many of us in this situation right now and i hope everyone is able to get a satisfactory resolution at the end of this

Yep I am in the same boat as many of you that have already posted here. I completed my level 2 Fitness Instructor course in December and received an email 2 days later to say Discovery Learning were no longer running courses in 2019. Fully completed my course on 19 Dec 18, having passed all the exams and assessments. Contacted Active IQ the awarding body to see if they could help and issue the certificate. They said DL had never registered any of us as starting the course so there was nothing they could do to help. I've lost over £500 pounds and many other students have lost a lot more!!! Frankly it's disgusting and these people should be ashamed of themselves.

I HAVE SENT MY COMPLAINT TO BBC WATCHDOG. IF YOU READ THIS PLEASE DO IT TOO. ITS A REALLY QUICK ONLINE FORM ON THE MAIN PAGE. MAY NOT HELP IN THE SHORT-TERM BUT THEY NEED OUTING!!!

I paid whole course ( level 4 , Gp referall etc..) I didn’t finished all .
Thousands of money lost no students answer it’s realy unfair .
I called the bank to try to get money back , please if anyone kwons somebody with same issue ask for give feedback about their service , more people review more chance to bank refound back .

Completed 99% of Level 3 PT with LITERALLY 3 questions needing amendments. Has anyone had any luck finding an alternative company willing to integrate the work theyve already done within their course?

I have reason to believe that Discovery learning have gone into administration with no warning or correspondence.

I have money on account with the company as I was going to book courses with them.

I have been calling, emailing and writing various posts and messages on social media to try and get a response but as of yet I have not received anything.

I know that I am not the only one that has lost money but I need to know how I can get a refund or claim for the money that I have lost.

I have had no correspondence from the company since 22nd December 2018. Despite many calls and emails I have not been able to get hold of anyone. On 20th December 2018 I was sent new login details for the new student portal. When I then emailed back regarding a few things not working, I received no response. Did not think anything of it until I searched for reviews on the company and found out that the company has ceased trading. I was part way through Level 3 PT and had paid about £3000 for the whole course including pre and post natal and diabetes masters. I am shocked that no one is even able to explain what might have happened. If anyone find a way how to get our money back, please let us know. There are thousands of people that have been affected. Awful

Company has ceased trading as of January 2019. No communication. Can’t complete Level 3 Personal Trainer course even though I have passed the exams as I still needed to submit coursework. Will be investigating further and taking legal action to get my money back.

I purchased the PT package with discovery. Still have a few CPDs to cover and my level 4. However, I received email they have ceased business. After all the disappointments we come to financial loss as well. Great customer service, no support what so ever. Only tricking you to pay a package price for the discount but now we can't even finish the course. Certainly will seek legal advice.

I have just received you letter by email stating that Discovery Learning will cease to offer training courses, from the 1st of January.

Firstly I find it totally unacceptable that you would issue such a statement to your students on the last business working day before Christmas and the New Year. In fact what you are saying is that your organisation is ceasing to trade from immediate effect giving us no recourse to engage with you to discuss our options prior to the Holiday Period. This sort of behavior is reprehensible.

I am part way through my course, I have completed the exams but not the practical gym based assessment or portfolio.
The reason that this was not completed all in one weekend as originally scheduled is because your team are totally inept and were incapable of communication.

Please contact me by return to explain how you intend to conclude the training and assessment for individuals such as myself who are mid way through the assessment process.

I trust that you will understand the stress and concern your untimely announcement has placed on students on your courses and take appropriate action accordingly.

I took the level 2 and level 3 personal training courses at Seymour Academy over the period of 4 weeks. Honestly couldn’t have asked for better tutoring, Tony had time for everyone’s questions and was clearly very knowledgable. The facilities were well equipped and the atmosphere in the classroom was great with everyone coming away as friends rather than classmates after the course.

I spent 4 weeks at the Seymour Academy to do my level 2 & level 3 qualifications. I would highly recommend this company and the location as It provided a great learning environment, great experiences and it was extremely well taught. 10/10

My review is aimed at Frank Sarkodie, an outstanding member of the Discovery Learning team and the man who restored my faith in Discovery Learning.
When I first started the course, I had tons of problems with Discovery, centering around communication amongst its team members often leading to confusion and misleading information being passed to students. Because of this, I failed my exams a few times, but thankfully Frank Sarkodie came along and changed everything. Frank was very supportive all the way to exam level, and I was able to pass my exam, even getting 100% mark on one of my papers. As I understand, Frank and his new team took over from the previous team who had no clue as to what they were doing, hence the massive change. In my opinion, all of the Discovery Learning support staff should look upon him as a benchmark and shining example of how to truly support your students.
Frank is an example that shows that all companies have their problems, however it’s how you deal with the problems to move things forward that really matters.

I just thought I’d drop a quick review to pass on my praise for Angela Green who was our instructor on the Kettlebell Course in Cardiff last weekend. She was thoroughly professional with excellent knowledge and a personality to put everyone at ease, Angela created a great learning environment and certainly brought out the best in all the students. I can’t thank her enough.
