WOW what an incredible trip across the Annapurna region! What made it so much better was the treatment shared with Discovery World Trekking (DWT). From Day 1, where they picked me up from the airport and blessed me with a garland of flowers for arriving into there wonderful country til the last day where Paul, DWT manager, arranged dinner with him to talk about the experience i had with the company.

Even before day 1 of my Annapurna Circuit Trek, Paul was very responsive with queries via WhatsApp i had, especially with COVID situation across the world, and any questions i had about the trek itself. Upon meeting Paul at the office on day 1, he went through the itinerary with me again, which allowed me to ask any further questions i had and it also meant the chance to meet my Guide, Hari and my Porter, Jit. Paul went through the equipment list and made sure i had everything that was required. I did require a down jacket and sleeping bag which Paul happily provided a North Face version to me with, which saved me alot of time looking around Thamel for one.

Whilst on the trek, Hari and Jit, looked after me tremendously, ensuring that i was motivated everyday as with it being a 15 day long trek, happiness was the key to it being a successful one. Hari and Jit always made sure i was fully fed with the local speciality Daal Bhaat, as this was an important diet to have for lunch and dinner everyday on the trek. There were options to have western food like spaghetti, pizza and burger along the way but i thought the best way to stay healthy was sticking with a diet that teahouses were experts in cooking in. At end of each night they also provided me with delicious fruit grown locally.

Whilst on walking on the trek, Hari and Jit always told me to take things slowly, as we were going up in altitude everyday, our body needed to get used to the air. They were also on hand to motivate me with advice on how to trek certain obstacles and always had a chocolate snack if i was hungry!

On the day of the treking through the pass, Hari was always close by to help me with food, water and motivation, as we were trekking in thick snow, it was doubly hard to getting to the pass. Thankfully i made it to the pass of 5416m!

Overall, without the help of DWT throughout all the stages of the trek, i dont i could have made it through the gruelling 15 days. I would definitely recommend to use Discovery World Trekking for any trips in Nepal, or even just in get in contact with Paul to talk through the options as he is open to talk and not pushy at all.

I did the Everest Base Camp tour in Nepal with Discovery World Trekking agency. For me it was the first time in Nepal. In advance, Paul (the boss and founder of the company) helped me at any time of the day or night with questions and uncertainties. He always answered immediately, whether by phone call or WhatsApp. He sent you lists to pack and everything you need.

Once you arrived in Nepal, you were picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel. We met again before the tour started to explain everything and check if you have all the equipment. What you do not have will be lent to you!

The tour itself was perfectly organized. The accommodations, flights and everything worked wonderfully smoothly and you had a professional guide plus a porter for your luggage. The views, the culture and the people in the mountains must be experienced and are really unique. The prices are fair and furthermore you are always supplied with cookies etc..

After the tour there is a debriefing and you are invited to eat again. Really great! Also with things like the Pcr test for the trip home or if you want to make further trips they are available and really help with everything you need.

I can really recommend the agency without reservation and will book Discovery World Trekking again on my next visit!

I have had an incredible and unforgettable journey. I am excited about Nepal and the largest mountains in the world! For me, Discovery World Trekking was the best companion a man can imagine from start to finish. We are a couple from Germany. We did the Everest Base Camp Trek. It was the best choice to do this with WORLD DISCOVERY TREKKING. We are veery veeery veeeeery happy with this company and we could have not made a better choice!

Paul, the founder of the company, is working hard day and night and answered all our questions immediately fast. He supported us at every time. We could have not wished it better, it was the best organized event that I had in my life! In every matter it was much much much beyond we have expected!! Paul and his crew do this treks with passion and heart! Everything was perfectly prepared and we got picked’ up from the airport by his crew with nice flowers.

During the trek our guide and porter were extraordinary nice, friendly and caring about us. For example, we forgot our World Discorvery Trekking-sleeping bag in the hotel, and they organized immediately new ones for us. If we made a wrong step and slipped away, our Guide was faster than light and hold on us to avoid before we fall. Not the forget the insane good artistic skills from our Porter: He was singing very nice and played guitar; we had unforgottable dancing nights and fun together. All, the guide and porter, Paul, the company exceeded our expectations in every aspect. We felt at any time secure and happy to have such good and reliable people around us.

First, they were just our guide and porter. Now, we will miss them very much in our heart as friends and part of our family. We are sad that this is over now! :-( we will never forget them and hope we see us again in life.

I just finished the Annapurna base camp trek with Discovery world trekking. Before booking, Paul was very helpful in providing all necessary info and customizing the trek so it suited my whishes the best. My guide Dol spoke fluent English, was very knowledgeable over local culture, food, flora, fauna and of course the mountains. Our porter Gokul, was good fun, very enthusiastic and always helpful. Together they did all possible to make the trek as pleasant, interesting and safe as possible. I really enjoyed the service at discovery world trekking and would recommend it to everyone. I didn’t know what to expect when I started the trek but having good trekking company who could provide you with real time info and be there for you has been the highlight. Whenever I faced challenges, my guide was there to reassure and giving me the right kind of advice & practical tips to overcome the challenges . For example, at high altitude I was struggling and I wasn’t very sure if I could continue but my guide reassured that this is the feeling experienced by many and I should continue and he was one step behind me all the way till the end of the the journey. Highly recommended!! It was a great experience in mountain we done the three pass with EBC and off course discovery world trekking team helps me lot and good support on the entire days even though the weather was not good. Especially my guide and Porter helps a lot to finish the trekking success.

The hike of my life!!

First of all, special thanks to Paul (Discovery world trekking) and Hari (my guide and young brother), who made this trip one of the best memories I've ever had.

Being able to be alone in EBC for 45m, crossing some passes alone as well or able to walk for hours with meeting no one is once in a lifetime opportunity, and these are only a few of the highlights of my journey here!

It all started a few months ago when I came across some youtube videos mentioning Discovery world trekking for hiking Nepal. Right after that I contacted Paul and he made everything so easy and comfortable.
(visa, insurance and PCR test requirements etc.). He is a very charming person and provided any updates regarding covid or related news to my trip.

My journey began a month ago when I travelled to Kathmandu mid October. In arrivals I met my guide, Hari. Who stayed with me for a month and cared about me during all the hikes. I don't wont to refer to Hari as a guid, I want to call him the best partner I've could ever imagined. He is a very professional and experienced human being, he speaks english very well and you can have conversations about everything with him. Quickly he become your friend, and he make you feel like home at all moments. We spent lots of goods moments, good laughs, hugs, uno games, songs, selfies and I will always carry him in my heart for everything we've shared together this past month!! :)

About the treks, I don't know how I could describe such beautiful places in words... If you haven't been here just come and enjoy, you won't regret it!
The weather has been perfect, sunny all days! And each day the landscape it gets better and better, alongside with your mood and your soul.

I will be back home with lots of energy, and for sure I'll come back to Nepal for some other treks. The people here is so nice and in the mountains you can get that touch of kindness that characterises this beautiful country.

Overall this is a 100% recommended experience to live at least once in you life!

When I was planing to go to Himalaya I checked a lot of websites, blogs and reviews, and after read a lot, the Discovery World Trekking was my choice. Wow, what a choice, Paul (the owner) was always worried if I was with 100% of essential trip documents and informations. The guide (Karan) couldn’t be bether, he was not only a guide, he was a photografar and a friend hand. The experience at Himalays with Discovery World Trekking was amazing.

What an awesome trip! Seeing sunset on Kala Pattar and standing at Everest Base Camp was a once in a lifetime experience and makes the Trek to 5.555 metres worth it. Thanks to Paul for the great support leading up to the event and of course to Dol and Bream for the fantastic guidance and support from our arrival in Lukla, all the way to EBC and back. We got a warm welcome when we arrived into Kathmandu airport and they drove us to our hotel and gave a great briefing of the trip. During the trek, Dol and Bream kept us informed on all the sights, helped to manage our luggage and always knew when a little break was needed - they also had plenty of cookies and treats on hand when we needed it! I loved having the human quality of Milan, the guide that we had. I definitely couldn’t have made it without him. He was extremely patient, kind, service driven and most of all kind hearted. Our porters too, seriously, they are angels. All in all it was great. I would definitely repeat this.

I highly recommend booking with Discovery World Trekking. I found Paul through Tripadvisor. From the moment I emailed him he was very responsive which I really liked. He responded very thoroughly to each of my questions. He followed up. Having someone respond quickly and having answers to all my questions is very important to me, which is why I was able to easily book with Discovery World Trekking. I booked EBC with Gokyo Ri trekking with his company. On our 1st day our flight got cancelled due to bad weather at Lukla. Paul kept us motivated to try for the next day. The next day our flight was cancelled again due to bad weather. Paul quickly helped us book a helicopter ride out to Lukla. Milan, our guide, was very friendly and patient on our trek. He helped us at the airport and encouraged us through our trek. We had good laughs during our trek. Prem and Nima, our porters, were friendly. On our 2nd day I didn’t feel well and knees were hurting so we decided to hire a 2nd Porter to help us carry our backpacks. Paul quickly arranged a 2nd porter for us. We were able to trek all the way to Gokyo. We decided to stop and end our journey at Gokyo. Paul again helped us arrange a helicopter from Gokyo to Kathmandu on very short notice. We decided to end our trek early from Gokyo Ri due to knee pain. We couldn’t be more grateful to Paul & Milan for making our trip wonderful and memorable. Thank you to Paul, Milan, Prem & Nima we had a memorable journey! After getting back to Kathmandu Paul again helped us book a hotel last minute at a good rate. I will definitely be booking with Discovery World Trekking again and highly recommend booking with them.

I highly recommend Discovery world trekking! I intially found the company through reviews on trip advisor and glad I chose them. Paul has provided outstanding service through out our trek. He was very quick to reply to all of our questions clearly. He never let us worry through out the trip and made sure I was taken care of entire time! He kept in touch from the begining to the end & made sure we were alright. He truly & genuinely wants his guests to have a great time. Our trekking guide friend, Milan was very knowledgeable and took care of us throughout our entire trek, from picking us up at airport 1st day to running around at the airport for our lukla flight that was cancelled twice and guiding us during our trek. He watched how we felt each day and let us know what we should eat, and helped during our trek and answered many of our questions. He truly watched out for us as a brother/friend. Prem & Nima, our porter friends also handled our bags and also were friendly, and made sure we were not carrying too much weight. We had ended up with bad knees on our 2nd day, which slowed us down but we never felt that we were being rushed at all. Milan & Prem patiently walked with us. Towards the middle of our itinerary we had decided to cut our trip short due to the painful knee problem, Paul had arranged a helicopter to pick us up on such short notice. I highly recommend Paul & his team at Discovery World Trekking, you will be in good hands!

I am very thankful to Discovery World Trekking for helping me achieve the trek of a lifetime: to Everest Base Camp (5,364m), Kala Patthar (5,643m), Cho La Pass (5,420m) and Gokyo Ri (5,360m). The trek took place in November 2020, during Covid, shortly after Nepal re-opened for trekking and mountaineering. Traffic was extremely limited during this period, which gave me the opportunity to trek nearly undisturbed in what could otherwise be a fairly crowded peak-season.

I came in contact with Paul and had long and detailed discussions about Nepal’s travel restrictions; visa, insurance and PCR test requirements etc. Paul and his team were extremely helpful and updated me on all the latest news, how to interpret the regulation while helping me apply for visa. In the end, I had no trouble entering Nepal or continuing my journey towards Everest.

I travelled to Kathmandu early November, was met at the airport by my guide, Karan, who brought me to my hotel and helped me get the required PCR test to allow me to continue my journey to Lukla. Karan was very helpful throughout the trek; had updated knowledge of which villages were open or closed (all of the major hubs along the trail were open, although maybe only 1-2 lodges in each village), he provided me with face masks and alcogel when needed and helped me set the right trekking pace depending on how strong or tired I felt. He carried a sizeable medical kit, tested my blood oxygen level (pulsoximeter) every night and provided me with Diamox (voluntary) as a precaution when we got above 4,000m, to help prevent altitude sickness. In the end I experienced only very mild symptoms.

Trekking during the pandemic never felt like a concern; in part because I had antibodies (although you never know how long or well such protection lasts), but also because social distancing is rarely a problem on the Everest trail. Although we did meet a few very nice fellow trekkers at some lodges, half the nights we were the only guests in the lodge. When crossing Cho La from Dzongla to Gokyo we trekked for nearly 8h without meeting a single soul (tourist or Nepali) on the trail.

The trek went from Lukla to EBC, Kala Patthar, Cho La and Gokyo back to Lukla, covering 190km in at times very tough terrain. It was planned for 14 days but we did it in 12, at my own my request. It was very demanding at times (I chose to carry my own 14kg backpack), but the views and the experience were amazing and clearly worth all the effort. The weather was optimal; clear skies all days except 1½. Very cold at night, particularly when >4,000m, but warm/mild in the daytime. Food was very good; avoid meat, aim mainly for boiled food and you will be fine. I experienced no stomach issues.

In the end, I am extremely pleased with my journey, very thankful to Paul and Karan for all their efforts and hope that more people discover the advantages of visiting Nepal while the number of visitors remain far below the usual.
