Our household remained loyal DISH NETWORK customers for three decades . . .
Was it really necessary to remove the TNT channel from our package RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CLUB WORLD CUP CHAMPIONSHIP?!
I understand there are occasional third-party broadcast disputes on the DISH we are purchasing. In the past, we went without CBS for about five months and more recently, NBC for what I believe was close to a YEAR-and-a-half!
But to send out a customer letter within literally a weekend of pulling the plug on a channel the customer is paying a package for -- and in the middle of a sports championship -- that only lasts a couple more days. THAT IS THE EPITOME OF CRUMMY TREATMENT OF YOUR CUSTOMERS!
And... please don't blame this TIMING all on the Turner network. I am one customer who will be discontinuing my selection of DISH for my entertainment/sports broadcast in the near future. I'll be sure to make MY severance equally as abrupt.
Dish will not allow you to cancel…
Dish will not allow you to cancel service free and clear. We cancelled our service 3 years ago in may of 2022 after 5 months of back and forth issues with being over charged, calling to get charges corrected, being promised credits on our account and then not recieving said credits..rinse and repeat. We returned our equipment and paid any remaining balances. We were ready to be done with the drama. We then kept getting charged for service in june, july and august. We had to keep calling month after month to reiterate that our service has been cancelled since may, we returned our equipment in May, we no longer recieve service and we are still be charged for services. The reps would help and keep telling us charges were reversed and that the cancellation is final this time. Finally, 4 months later, we stopped recieving new bills and charges. Fast-forward to present time(6/2025) and we are sent to collections for a months of service that we were charged for in 2022! I called dish and spoke with rep "Steven" #6xy who basically ran me around in circles trying to deny any facts i gave him even when he could see charges were made after i cancelled, that i had to call multiple times in the months after cancelling to have charges reversed, and even where reps had to re-cancel my account. I asked to speak with someone else and he told me"there is noone above me that can help you". He also insinuated i didnt cancel my account but intead they "terminated" my account for non-payment...in June 2022! Dish will continually harass you for years over money you dont owe. They will gaslight you, confuse the situation, not do what they say and charge you for services you did not recieve. Keep you reciepts, emails, phone calls and bills. Or better yet, do not start service with them!
THEY WON"T LET YOU CANCEL
I have been a customer for over 3 years, I recently moved and could not use Dish. When trying to cancel my service, they were so pushy to try to get me to stay. They even set an appointment at my new address. I called back the 2nd day and each rep, just transferred my call and would not let me cancel. When I did get a manager to cancel I was told after being a customer for over 3 yrs that I would be charged an early term fee of over $400 bucks. This is absurd!!! Very poor customer service. I see Why no one once to use this service any longer

Stay away from Dish Network
I just had a chat with Dish Network. Customer for 19 years. They want me to sign a new contract with a Hopper OR charge me $13/month for some protection plan (like I wasn't already paying a lot for so little) OR $95 to have a tech come out and try to sell me a new contract. That is quite the RUSE. I am already paying these thieves over $100/month for their crappy service, signal loss every time it rains, intermittent equipment failure that lasts days and their never-ending reruns. I should have cancelled it years ago. I even did that once and yet they continued to charge me. Why in the heck would anyone pay them to fix THEIR faulty equipment!? The ONLY guarantee they have is they will raise your price every year. I can clearly see why they are losing customers, especially loyal longtime customers.
Doesn't stick to agreed pricing
I've renewed my service by calling and asking for a better price. They told me if I sign a 2 year contract the cost would be $73 a month. First bill..$73. Next bill $93. When I called to find out why they had no straight answer. Also told me I would get Netflix 6 months free. Did not say if I had the plan with more than 1 TV cost extra.
Next I canceled the Netflix add on and the price went down to $73, thought I fix it. This month back to $86.
I've had dish for 10 years... Stay away, seems they went down Hill. Bad News Company

This company is a joke they told me if I purchased the MLB packet I could watch my home team even though they wont show it on regular channels. So I purchased if for my father as a father days gift so he can watch his team. THIS SORRY ### company have all there games blocked out n now out of 120 dollars. This company is a joke n a scam
Techs leave a mess…
Every time they come out in the 20 years we've had them the leave all the defective wires spitters etc in our attic or on our roof. We live in a remote area and didn't have another choice.
Finally decided to use our excellent antenna and Internet. Best choice we ever made. Spent hours removing excess wires laying on our roof and trash in our attic.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. When I signed up I had to take to Protective Service plan it was free for 6 months, but then had to cancel after 6 months, or you were charged 12.99 a month. I had canceled this twice and it keep showing up on my bill. I used the chat on a desktop asking them to take it off my bill. They wouldn't, telling me I never saved the changes. I had used my phone previously, and apparently save button was not visible. Any respectful business would have removed the charge. Just a terrible experience and once my commitment is fulfilled I will be going elsewhere.

This is a continuation of the nightmare called Dish Network. I had to return a receiver. I thought I returned it because I no longer had it but was unable to prove I returned it. I was willing to pay the fee. Turns out the fee was max they charge $350. This is the a 7 yr old receiver. On top of that They let me know 5 days ago what the fee is. Now they are threatening to send my account to collections. I can honestly say I absolutely hate this company. I would go back to Directv over dish. I am streaming with Roku and could not be happier.

Customer service is atrocious and they trick you into a 2 yr contract. Make you think they are saving you money when they are merely downgrading your service! When you tell them NO, they say too late! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Dish has become a predatory company with no integrity, no morals! Buyer beware!!
After 17 years, I've had enough!
I've had Dish Network for 17 years. They used to be the best around but like many others my service kept getting worse and the price kept going up. Last year my receiver box stopped working so I asked them to replace it. I wasn't home when they came but they somehow tricked my wife into signing up for a new 2-year comittment. To add insult to injury, the box they gave me as a replacement was not compatible with dish anywhere so I lost that part of my service. I've been feeling for a long time like I wasn't getting good value out of the service so I called today to see if they could match competitor pricing. I told the person on the phone that I found service for half of what I'm paying now that has more channels. Their response was to offer me very small, short-term discounts but nowhere close to competitor pricing. I reminded them that I've been with them for 17 years but they didn't care. To really finish it off on a bad note, they're charging me $340 for early termination. That was more than enough to get me on trustpilot to leave my review. Dish and Verizon must have the same philosophy.... Treat your customers poorly and charge them twice as much as everyone else because of your name. No more!
DISH Network has nearly the worst…
DISH Network has nearly the worst customer service I have ever seen! My father-in-law switched from DirecTV over to DISH. What a nightmare! He gets a rebate, for switching. In order to get the rebate, you have to sign up online. He is 83 years old. He doesn't have internet or a computer. He has a flip phone and doesn't even know how to text, let alone sign up for an online DISH account. So, he did what he always does in a case like this, he asked me to do it for him. The only way to sign up is if you have email or a phone that receives text. He doesn't have those things. The next step is trying to talk to someone about your issue. The only way to get a real person on chat is to continually say you want a person. Then, the "agent" just gives you a link, which leads to mydish.com and tells you to just get an email address. "It's simple." That takes adding one to the account. So, I call the dish number. Again, the only way to reach a real person is to repeat "customer service." Over an hour later I am ready for online sign up. Until I get the message, Well this is embarrassing. It looks like we are having some technical difficulties. Please try again later. I tried again the following evening, only to get the same message. Onto the chat again. They send me a link, telling me how to sign up. Never addressed the issue at all. Finally, I called again. At least this agent tried to help me but said she was getting the same message, to try again later. She said it shouldn't take long and asked me how long I was having difficulty. 24 HOURS! I checked this morning and have the same issue. I was told it was reported to tech services. Still not fixed. I am so over it! My date of experience is when it started. 05/18/2025. Today is 05/20/2025 and the issue continues.
Dish Network is the WORST!!!
I called to cancel our service after 12 years. The person I talked too spent 25 minutes telling me I dont want to cancel. I said no thanks I just want to cancel. She kept telling me I did not want to cancel and I told her they had been raising my prices for years and we were getting charged $196 per month and she said we can cut that in half. I WAS PISSED!!! They admit they have been overcharging customers for years. It took 25 minutes and me screaming at het to finally get her to cancel my service. I will be charged $35 to return the receiver and part of the receiver. They have no local stores anymore. Never get a Dish TV or our life will be HELL.
100's of Free Wireless Channels
I had Dish for several years and the monthly bill just kept going up. I would call and complain and drop channels but slowly the bill would rise. I finally got T-Mobile wireless internet and with Plex having 300 channels, Xumo offering 250 and Pluto with over 200 All Free. My Biggest complaint with Dish is the local channels.. they charge High Prices to carry them.. Always fighting and dropping them then charging More for them because they had to renegotiate the fees yet these channels are broadcasted free. I bought a cheap antenna that looks like a cutting board. I was able to get 30 Air channels free. Why doesn't Dish just offer an external antenna and a way to switch to Air.. but if they did this they couldn't charge inflated prices. Also I was paying to rent my two DVRs.. when I called and Finally Canceled my Service they told me that they no longer sell my receivers and that I needed to recycle them and they didn't want them back... yet every month they charged me to rent them... Anything to make a buck. You can't even get timely repairs anymore unless you sign up for a monthly protection plan.. what a racket. I had an antenna professionally installed and now get 55 local channels for less than the cost of 3 months of Dish payments.
Do not waste your time
My husband and I had Dish for several years. Things would work and then not work even though we had new TV's in our home. We called DISH who said "we needed new equipment. When the man came to our house it was upsell city and "why don't you go with the better Package" ect. After all was said and done we were paying close to $200 for 2 people that are never home due to work schedules AND the equipment still did NOT work right. We decided to cancel are service and stream the movies, shows we liked and DISH turned around and charged us over $400 for equipment installation. Just a super bad experience all around and could NOT recommend to you at all. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time.

Dish could not provide consistent service!
Dish could not provide consistent service. We tried with technical support many times. Requested to cancel contract due to non-performance. They still charged $524.00 after first 30 days of service after failing to perform. At the same time, I turned off autopay and removed payment to pay out the balance over a few months. Dish charged the full amount without authorization. This company is desperate for cash and cuts corners in which they cannot deliver consistent service. Also their User Interface is the worst. Ridiculously redundant and slow.
