Been using dlink for almost 2 years now…

Been using dlink for almost 2 years now so far haven’t had any issues have 5 cameras in and out of the house everything works great. Audio and videos never let me down . You’ll get a message if camera needs to be updated. Subscribed to clouds so you can review the clips if needed.

Most unreliable software I’ve ever encountered. Constantly uploads partial clips, yet when viewed live, there’s no issue. Frequent crashes, repeated requests to sign in, and I PAID FOR THIS RUBBISH??I do not recommend. In fact I actively ask you to look to other providers for your security needs.

Dlink cameras no longer support videos…

Dlink cameras no longer support videos going to your email and only stay connected about 20 percent of the time. Video quality isn't too good either. You have to constantly pay for support or buy new cameras. Without videos going to email they are complete garbage.

A lifetime "limited" warranty that is not lifetime

A lifetime "limited" warranty that is basically not a lifetime warranty.

Encountered an issue with a switch (business segment) that fails operating properly.
1/ support asked me to flash it, sending me the firmware.. this is not for the right model.
2/ after a few discussions, proposed a replacement.
3/ Asked a copy of the invoice, and then decided that the switch is now out of the "lifetime warranty".

Explanation : to get access to the lifetime warranty, you need to register your purchase in the 30 days after the purchase (as you can imagine, this is not clearly stated on their website, when they advertise the lifetime warranty.. you have to follow the stars and read all the small lines.. ).

If you do not register, you have a 5y warranty, from the purchase date. And they are rejecting any kind of discussion.

If you register, you have a limited** lifetime warranty... and ** limited means : 5y from the End of Life of the product... .

This is how DLink deals with their customers..

For sure, next purchase will not be for that brand..

I am paying hundreds of dollars to what…

I am paying hundreds of dollars to what eventually become earth garbage!!! All in 4 years. The firmware cannot be supported in the name of EOS? Why would one buy camera for security to have to stop security in the name of upgrade??

WASTE OF TIME

Absolutely the biggest waste of time trying to deal with their customer service. They charge you for support after 90 days and don't even know how to help reset a password. Try youtube or better yet buy products from another company.

I bought a MyDlink camera for the house…

I bought a MyDlink camera for the house last year. I could not keep the WiFi connection and recently added a mesh connection, so the camera is 2 meters from the router. The connection is good, but the performance of this app is really terrible. It is slow and not reliable. I wish I could go back to the Nest Cam I owned in the US!

One of the worst experiences of my life…

One of the worst experiences of my life with technology and support.

The device is PowerLine AV500 Wireless N Mini Extender Starter Kit.

It was sold to me, but it doesn't work with any computer in the house.

I've tried contacting support on the website but it's a mess.

Finally, when I got through, I managed to talk to support via chat (the chat is miserable, you can't even upload images to explain, or copy text from it).

I spoke to the first person, explained the situation and halfway through the resolution support closed the chat without even warning.

I started another conversation with someone else. Explained everything again. Again, just as we were getting close to a result, the chat was closed.

This is not normal. Terrible service. I'll never buy a single product from D-Link again. Jesus!

good luck connecting to it

good luck connecting to it. good luck guessing the right password. good luck maintaining a stable connection if you are lucky enough to get the password to work even though you just set it up and got a confirmation screen showing your password.

I felt decieved with my D-link…

I felt decieved with my D-link DCS-8000LHV2. First of all you will pay around 50usd for the unit and then after 1 year they force you to subcribe a cloud based store because there is no local micrsd storage. They never advertised any paid subscription. I say no more dlink product so my unit belong to gabage can because its now useless with no subscription.

MyDLink Home service discontinued.

I am the unhappy owner of numerous products made by D-Link, examples including infrared motion sensors, security cameras, remote sirens, etc., all bought by Amazon for the total price of much more than €1000. All these products became totally obsolete and non-functioning overnight by the decision of the D-Link company to disconnect them from its MyDLink Home cloud service, thus creating a huge pile of useless electronic junk that has to be added to the piles of electronic stuff polluting the environment.
This is absolutely a company to stay miles away from.
I will happily provide any further information to anyone that requires it.

Huge disappointment...

Huge disappointment... I have been customer of D-Link products for many years and I have always believed that it is not only a serious but also a reputable company. MISTAKE! In February 2022, D-Link Poland informed me and probably thousands of other users of its intention to disconnect all D-Link smart home devices that I have purchased over the years. The purchase value of these devices is difficult to estimate accurately, but I assume that it would be in the range of EUR 600-900. Devices were purchased from September 2017 (first cameras; date based on activation of the D-Link cloud account) to 2019-2020. I contacted the company hoping for some amicable solution. After receiving of dusty answers for over half a year, D-Link Poland finally informed about the possibility of buying new equipment... No comments. There is no word on the equipment packaging that their operation depends 100% on the whim of the manufacturer, even in such a near future. All devices are still technically functional and meet my expectations, but in less than two months I will become the owner of many electro-waste. I reported the matter to the consumer rights adviser. The next step is Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. I encourage other victims to do the same. STOP unlawful deception of consumers! STOP the production of e-waste!
