Another reputable organisation going to the dogs ......
It is extremely disappointing to discover that Lord Rothermere has allowed his reputable company as wella as his own integrity in my opinion to allow such naked greed to be the main source of persuading folks to buy online subscriptions for a trial period and then that individual finds he has, without warning, been duped out of money they can ill afford because it is a "automatic renewal" and they do NOT inform you beforehand but just take the money. There is no way for a refund despite the fact that where I live it is impossible to get good internet service so the "free trial" was taken in the belief that one was dealing with a good and reputable company. These forms of "subscritption" without advising the individual of renewal but continually quoting T&Cs is the language of scoundrels. My family and I are so disappointed that after 50 years loyalty this wonderful newspaper is associated with such despicable business practices. We expected better and sadly got the worst! I have tried to explain personal difficulties (spend my life taking ill Army Veteran husband to hospital) as I am a 24/7 Carer and sadly do not have the time to check on such "offers"! Just to warn other folks that any organisation which subjects its customers to "automatic renewal" thereby a legal loophole to take your money upfront before you have realised it is happening SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.....I cannot even always get my hard copy because rural Britain is losing its Post Offices and shops and there is NO delivery of hard copy newspaper in our area ..... BTW I NEVER used the online service as too useless but do buy a hard copy newspaper so long as I can find one but now wonder if The Daily Mail deserves my loyalty at all.....NO do not think so ..... what a greedy country the UK has become.
