Do not call for flu
I wanted a flu antiviral as I had a test positive for flu. Practitioner said (And I appreciate her honesty) that it was not in their list. I just got such medication on one of the several online pharmacies that provide this service, medication that actually was effective. I am extremely disappointed with my experience.
A doctor recorded incorrect information in my medical records, stating that my symptoms began in November. The doctor later acknowledged the mistake and provided written confirmation that the information was wrong. However, because of this error, my health insurer is treating my condition as a pre-existing condition and has delayed my claim.
I have been told that I must wait up to a month for the relevant team to process the rectification request. There is no direct phone number for the team handling the matter, making it very difficult to get updates or explain the urgency of the situation.
As a result of an error that I did not make, I am facing financial loss and delays in accessing specialist medical care. I am currently unable to proceed with treatment while this issue remains unresolved.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but when an admitted error in a medical record has such serious consequences, there should be a clear and urgent process to correct it and provide patients with the evidence they need.
I hope Doctor Care Anywhere reviews how these cases are handled so that other patients do not experience the same difficulties.

Very fast response: midnight consultation helped me
At 1.30am I was able to talk through my concerns with a lovely caring and friendly doctor. She laid it all out straight, answered all my questions and so I reluctantly went to A&E where 5 hours later they found the ‘worst case scenario’ had actually happened. So a potentially fatal outcome has been discovered and avoided. So pleased I had the fast consultation which helped my decision.

Recently needed a GP referral
Recently needed a GP referral, advised to use Doctor Care Anywhere by AXA healthcare (which are linked as providers).
Set up appointment, paid the fee, no issue. Check camera and audio, no problem.
Click email link, wait about 3 mins for Medical Practitioner to dial in.
I can see the practitioner on screen , but cannot hear them.
I make gestures to say I cannot hear them, their lack of visual change, indicated they could not hear or see me. Trying to get a response. My end all working ok.
2 Missed calls received from unknown number, I am focused on trying to complete the appointment, so they are not answered.
Practitioner cuts link.
Raise the issue, I even gave a description of the style of headset and mic the practitioner was using, to confirm I did have a visual link.
I'm told, you need to pay for another appointment. Why would I need to pay for another appointment when the IT infrastructure, you asked me to use, clearly did not work. No guarantee or reassurance it would work a second time.
Advised a refund would be requested.
No contact and after two weeks of chasing, advised, refund would not be given as the practitioner connected.
Poor service
Poor customer service as a follow up.
No trust and confidence that the system will work
Just get pushed from one person to another.
I have to chase for updates
Please use other options as these guys may not deliver what they are supposed to, even if you make a payment.
Still waiting for a call back from the executive in charge, to establish if they are aware of how poorly their service is, or if they simply know but are not capable to generating improvements.

The booking process is fantastic
The booking process is fantastic! There is same day access to clinician often within a couple of hours. You can choose which department you would like to see after putting in a generalised description of your issue. A list of clinicians that can address your issue with a profile picture comes up so that you can choose one that you think looks familiar or unscary. They do attend on time and will notify you if they are delayed. You can upload your medical references and history ahead of time and they do read through it which helps so that they are prepared. All the ones I have seen are sympathetic and kind and knowledgeable. This service is ideal if you need a referral to a specialist and struggle with the NHS booking system for their GPs. The downside is that sometimes it is hard to get the camera to work, so it is important to log on early to sort this, often you need to allow permissions on your browser or clear cache. The other thing is they can't physically examine you other than visiuals or prescribe certain medications such as opioids, they will then direct you to NHS24(Scotland) or ask you to go to A&E or GP. For things like eczema they will be able to give prescription for topical creams. Once I had a kidney stone on a sunday out of hours and they were able to diagnose it and reassure me and point me to out of hours GP via NHS24, but just the reassurance helps in some circumstances. This time I had put my back out really badly but could not get a GP appointment and I did not want to visit A&E. They reassured me that I needed to visit A&E and that it was not safe to stay at home, thanks to them I managed to cope with the wait and awful carry on at A&E including a very weird guy sitting next to me and trying to make contact etc and I eventually got seen and they were worried enough about me to the point they considered admitting me. So they were right I needed to go to A&E. I would highly recommend as a backup or someone who will listen to your worries.

Access was superb with multiple appointments and doctors available within 1 hour. My chosen doctor offered a diagnosis and suitable course of action via a referral in a professional and empathetic manner. I found the service superb helped by a faultless technical platform.

This website is misleading
This website is misleading. It appears to offer genuine medical appointments, but people can easily book by mistake believing they are arranging real medical care. When that happens, they do not provide refunds. In my view, this is especially concerning because people seeking medical help may be in pain, distressed, or vulnerable, and therefore more likely to make an honest mistake.
The way the service is presented risks taking advantage of people who are unwell and urgently trying to get treatment. Important information should be made much clearer before any payment is taken, and anyone who books in error because the site looks like a genuine medical appointment provider should be refunded.
