I have a campervan on a Ram promaster chassis which has an attached bug screen for the side sliding door that has a magnetic closure. I also have a rambunctious pup that figured out that with a running start she can push open the screen and off she goes! I tried several other pet gates, child gates, etc. without luck until I came across Dog G-8. Their pet gate is a lifesaver! The shipping was fast (I live across the pond in the US), the service was great and it only took about 5” to install the gate. It securely keeps my pet in the van and looks great! I’m couldn’t have asked for a better solution!

Very impressed with the service from initial email contact to telephone conversations to find the right solution. The delivery service was quick and the gate is of a high quality ~ well made and resilient. Extra fixing brackets have enabled us to use the gate both in the campervan and in the house. Top quality product and an even better customer experience. The product is the perfect solution to our problem, with subtle hinges that blend in to the woodwork of our door frame, and a removable steel gate that does the job when it’s there and fold down to disappear when not in use. Delighted to have found Dog G8 and the team have been fantastic with our questions and aftercare.

Thea gate is just as it said and perfect for my dog to see whats going on out the front door.

Bought the gate for a campervan. It is well made and keeps the 2 spaniels safe when we are setting up. It’s made well with quality materials.

It’s exactly as advertised however I feel it is overpriced for what it is. You need two hands to latch it and to open it, which is a bit inconvenient.

Easy order and fast delivery,although I wish I had ordered the lock hinge at the time. A small gate for a campervan door and because of that it lifts of entirely,often when opening. Didn't mind reordering although £5.60 delivery a bit steep !!

Had a dog g8 for my campervan for over 2 years its been brilliant however this hot weather caused the sticky pads to fail one phone call and the problem was sorted so thank you so much DogcG8

After seeing these all over my social media it appeared they are the only company to make such a specific device/gate like this for front entry doors which is exactly what we wanted and needed for our pup.

First time around I ordered the bigger taller gate but unfortunately due to the wall height either side of our door internally the gate couldn’t be mounted high enough due to the gap between the mounting hooks. ENTIRLY my fault and was returned with no issue apart from the original email requesting the return seemingly not going through but sorted after a quick phone call.

Then ordered the smaller gate with its widest opening and although it looks very good on social media it really doesn’t work any kind of excitable dog.

We have tried it at various heights with each adjustment damaging and removing plaster from the wall, which I did expect given experience of heavy duty tape that is provided and accepted as the hallway is due to be decorated anyway, but quite frankly it’s DANGEROUS in any excitable dog.

Our black lab is an excitable and growing pup who is turning into a little black bear! He has got his paw stuck in this gate several times now, causing him to howl and panic making a stressful situation 10 times worse.

Then when he realises he can’t get over he can get his nose under it enough to lift it off the hooks and again, causing a ridiculous commotion!

Add in our little Frenchie girl who does exactly the same but with slightly less drama due to her smaller paws and r it’s just pandemonium and opening the door a crack to receive parcels or asking for them to be put down to retrieve later is still the better and safest option.

As for the gates function, the socials don’t really show how the gate operates normally and day to to day. The unfolding of it works exactly as shown, however it doesn’t show how you have to fold it back up manually every time or adjust it while closing the door as it doesn’t fold the same way every time.

I know it wasn’t self gfolding back to its nice neat position and didn’t expect it to, but quite frankly it’s annoying having to essentially make it part of the closing procedure of a door rather than simply closing it as normal.

With calm dogs and certain gaps it’s used on I imagine it’s a great idea and works well. But if you have any kind of excitable dog that will want to put their paws on, avoid at all costs.

With the roll of replacement tape we purchased as it was more financially savvy than buying the replacement ones directly, I may as well have just given the £100+ straight to the dogs trust… which is where the gate has ended up and fortunately, geven with the above explanation, they could make use of it somewhere and with the more nervous dogs they get in… hence the 2 star review instead of a 1.

Is a shame as I had high hopes but it would appear that the old trusty baby gates are still very much the best and most effective choice.

Our rat terrier would dart out the door. We are able to have a barrier now. It works great .

Easy to order ,very easy to fit, it was just a bit to wide but it was very easy to take a bit out ,I would definitely recommend this for your campervan, or home .

Great dog gate smart and ideal for my small dog, keeps him safe when doir is open.

Easy to set up and seems ok so far. It doesn't fold quite as simply as portrayed in the video clip because the gate itself is quite thick and heavy. I also think it's quite difficult to line it up once it's been opened (it is for me) It will do the job but I think a simple stair gate would have been better for me. I was planning to but another for my other door but it's not for me.

The door gate seems great to start with, but the first time I used it when leaving the dogs alone they just lifted it out of the bracket. Dog-G8 suggested I buy a pair of alternative brackets, although when I complained they sent me a pair free of charge.
However, the first time I tried leaving them in the utility room with only the Dog-G8 gate to keep them in there, 5 minutes after I'd got into bed I had the dogs jumping on my bed!!
Turned out that one of the plastic blocks that hold the metal bars together had broken! I reported this to them last week, but haven't heard back from them yet!
Those plastic blocks should be either metal or much stronger plastic, maybe nylon would work?
I hope they are able to provide a solution otherwise I'll be needing to retrieve the door that was originally there and refit it which will be rather annoying as opening the door blocks access to the cupboards the opening side of the utility room making access rather tricky!

Thank you for supplying the replacement clips, I'll install them now. BTW, the replacement bracket with the screw to secure the gate is not particularly effective, it doesn't take much for it to come loose, the dogs have managed to open the gate a couple of times since I started using the first one.
