Not as advertised and very poor customer service

We recently stayed at ZeroZero Treehouse, which is part of the Dome Garden, Coleford. We paid £900 for 2 nights as a Christmas present. It was a disaster. We left after one night.

Far from being a beautiful place in the Forest of Dean,on 2 out of 3 sides it faces into a grotty garden. There was no hot water (which also meant we could not use the big bath, shower or sauna). The heating was inadequate. The plunge pool was empty. When we left, we were told our money would be refunded, but we were subsequently only offered £100, and we have received a letter implying legal action. (Tellingly, there is no link to leave any reviews on the website).

My response to the letter was as follows:

For the avoidance of doubt, I reject any suggestion that my correspondence constituted an unlawful demand or review manipulation.

I am seeking a refund in respect of a contractual dispute. My reference to informing future customers reflected my intention to provide an honest and factually accurate account of my experience if the matter remained unresolved, which I am entitled to do, and will do now since it is clear that you have no intention to refund us, as you promised to do when we left.

There was no intention to demand payment in exchange for suppressing a review, nor to act improperly.
