I read the story of the store closure and I thought the goods were from the UK, but based upon the price I should have thought about it and checked for reviews. I did then find out the items were coming from China and having received them am very disappointed in the quality. They are supposed to be leather, but they certainly don’t feel or smell like real leather (and my wife has a lot of real leather bags to compare them with).
So take my advice and think very carefully before ordering from this “store” !

Absolute scam - product received was nothing like the bag advertised - cheap rubbish and no way of getting in touch with the seller / trading standards have been informed - avoid

This is a mainland chinese operation producing inferior products. When you want to return them, contrary to the impression given by the front page of the web site you are given a mailing address on an industrial estate in China and you are responsible for the shipment costs. . The contract is stated to be governed by German law but there is nowhere that the identity of the party with whom you contract is identified. So if there is a screw up just sue the credit card company. Mastercard beware.

WARNING Another cheap Chinese scam .Do not buy from this company .The photo of the women with the bag is the same AI generated woman as the Nova Jewellery scam .

Not leather - cheap plastic bags.

No stars - Beware this is a chinese company selling cheap plastic bags not leather bags as described by the website. I suggest you do not purchase anything from them as it is not worth the return postage and I highly doubt you would get a refund anyway.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, COMPLETE SCAM! Ordered set of 4 Grace bags, item arrived, packaging a joke, Horrendous smell, Not Quality leather, plastic, zips don't work, would not even give to charity shop, only fit for bin. Returned to them, weeks ago, STILL AWAITING REFUND, FOR £100. Chased but get same reply. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN FOR FAKE ITEMS, CUSTOMER SERVICE SATISFACTION, QUALITY, ALL FAKE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Don't touch this company with a barge pole. I bought a bag advertised as grey but when it arrived it was beige. Asked for a returns label - no reply. Tried three times.
They take your money and you can't get it back. An utter SCAM. Totally disgusted with them.

Shouldn't have any stars. Not leather. Don't believe anything on Dorothy bags website. Chinese company cheap plastic bags. No customer service at all. Total scam. Do not order from them or Grace bags.

This is a scam company is selling inferior products that are not genuine leather. The advertised UK Camden Town address on their website where no postcode is given, does not exist and is not listed with the Post Office. The 30 day free returns warranty is a gross misrepresentation, as customers are asked to return goods to mainland China at an exhorbitant cost AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMMERS - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Got my Dorthey Bag. Does anyone know if Dorothy has retired? Has she gone abroad? I am confused! Why did my bag need to go through import clearance? Was this because it was in the last 'clearance' sale? I lost my sense of smell during COVID, so I don't know what leather should smell like. How would you define a quality bag? Quality is a personal decision. Everyone has their own ideas of what quality is. For me, this is not a quality bag. Not sure if the bag I received showed meticulous attention to detail.

Took 6 weeks to be delivered.

You can buy better from a market stall for less.

Absolute con! Don't believe the story - no craftmanship, no leather, no discounts from the fictitious homely closing down sale story just cheap plastic junk from China that take weeks to arrive. Massive confidence trick and criminally misleading advertising tosh.

Any deal that looks too good to be true - probably isn't true and this Is the moral of my story.
I am on a small budget and invested £77 on 3 bags as Christmas gifts and they were delivered to the wrong address. Yodel won't help me, they say the retailer must put in the formal claim; neither will Dorothy Bags who refuse to put in a claim to Yodel saying it is my responsiblity to do that. Dorothy Bags behave like fringe criminals and online mail fraudsters. I was lured into dealing with them because their contact address is in London and they are not open enough to show any other address, however, trustpilot indicate they are based in the Netherlands. Dorothy Bags have stolen £77 from me which may mean that members of my family will not get the Christmas gifts I hoped to give them. If you are looking for a bargain, go to a charity shop - don't be conned by these people. If anyone has any advice as to how I can obtain a refund, please let me know.

Ordered an Alina bag which was supposed to be made of leather. Very disappointed with the quality, it definitely isn’t leather, if it is I don’t know what it has come from also there is an awful smell. I have emailed to make a return and get a refund but no response. Foolishly I didn’t read the reviews or I wouldn’t have placed an ordered. Don’t be tempted to order from this firm.

doesn't even deserve 1 star, the company is a complete SCAM, they don't get back to you and no returns labels ever comes therefore no 'HASSELFREE REFUND'. Please please don't order anything from this company as you will never see a refund and again the scammers in China have ripped us off totally. Their products are absolute RUBBISH.

This company in my opinion it to be avoided.
No little old lady shutting shop after 40 years, I think the web site is AI.
The bags finally arrived today, after weeks, coming from China! Not in UK.
Bags appear to be NOT leather, like a plastic material made to look like leather, arrived in a shabby condition, no packing inside the bags.
I would advise to be very careful if you order from this company.
For the quality of the bags I received I say they are HUGELY overpriced in my opinion.
I wrote to CS and this is the reply when I said I would go through my credit card company for a refund.

Don’t fall for this scam - they are advertising the exact same bags that were being sold last year under ‘Grace Bags’, which were absolutely atrocious quality, suitable only for the bin. Same fictional ‘closing down sale’ story, just under a different name. A complete rip-off, and they are doing the same thing with fake clothing and jewellery companies.

I purchased a bag on the 21/08/25 which I’ve never received. I’ve been in correspondence with “Dorothy” via email since the 21/08/25 (25 working days) and am yet to receive a refund. They keep giving excuses or blaming the delivery company whom have said the onus lies on the company. The tracking info doesn’t work. They take days to reply to emails and when they do it’s a load of BS. The contact number doesn’t work and the Camden address is FAKE. IT DOESN’T EXIST! Absolute waste of time and money, especially as I’m still fighting for my money.
