I made a reply on Twitter (formerly X), and this random account replied to me that i should use downr. I had no idea what downr even is.
Upon checking, i noticed that its a tool that apparently let you download videos from Twitter.
It honestly looks like it was made in year 1980, but that's not the point. The point is that they harrase people online to advertise their Service.
This is not ok, and im writting this review to let everyone know what these people from India do.

Upon investigation, apparently we found that this negative review was written by a competitor who is linked to an X profile. unfortunately, trustpilot investigation was concluded before that and was on their favor because of lack of evidence. Also, Please avoid racial slurs from review content, whatever form it may be.
Here is the definition of "Harassment" from Cambridge dictionary:

Downr is super easy to use.
Honestly, Downr is super easy to use. Just paste the link, choose the format, and download. No complicated steps. There are no ads, which is a big plus, and it works perfectly on Chrome. It also supports a lot of other social media sites, so I don’t need to rely on multiple tools. Probably the simplest downloader I’ve used recently.

Use their website tool, but stay way from their Chrome extension, DOWNR MEDIA DOWNLOADER
I've used downr.org for the last year. There's two versions of their product that I'm reviewing in this post.
NOTE: This review is my 3rd edit as downr.org keeps commenting on my review, changing their story, and updating the site.
DOWNR.ORG WEBSITE
This website has seen a host of changes in the last month, so it's hard for me to keep up with it. I will admit, they've attempted to "clean up" things since my initial review on January 10, 2026. Consequently, downr.org is a much more clean interface and a way to donate to their cause rather than what was there before:
1. Annoying pop-up ads
2. Malicious site redirects to third-party websites with the intention to fool the user to download .exe files for something other than the video download I was intending to get.
DOWNR MEDIA DOWNLOADER BROWSER EXTENSION
At one time, before my review back-and-forth with the site owner on TrustPilot, I called the Google Chrome extension "TOP-TIER". But now, after two weeks of using the extension, some fishy things are going on. THE DOWNR MEDIA DOWNLOADER CHROME EXTENSION (VIA CRX LAUNCH) HAS NOW BECOME A BROWSER HIJACKER. I noticed that all my Google searches were being redirected through Yahoo for some reason. Upon further research, this is usually a sign of a rogue extension, or fake pop-up forcing your searches to go through Yahoo — often to generate ad revenue, drive traffic, or collect data. I've since had to remove the extension altogether.
I recommend all users of the DOWNR MEDIA DOWNLOADER CHROME EXTENSION remove this extension until the developer makes changes to the platform.

This is in-response to your targeted witch-hunting that is happening for the past few weeks. No matter how many times you keep shifting your story, facts will be facts. You're just investigating the product and making it look like some sort of underground illegal stuff. And you failing to do so every single time. If you want ad-free experience for non-youtube sites, use downr, but for youtube, you need to use extension. We didnt mention anywhere that its NOT ad-free. Extension permissions are clearly mentioned before install. You are skeptical about it ? Dont install and move on. If you want to make it ad-free, use your time to donate us our monthly server expense so that we can keep youtube download ad-free. Otherwise, please be grateful for what you get as free. You need to educate better from your school whats a hijack/phishing etc. You keep throwing these words in the public without being responsible. We have no problem countering your narrative no matter how many times you edit. Of course, we don't really believe you're a real user, instead the competitor who wish to kill the competition rather than winning it. Very sad way to do business. Waiting for your next narrative!!
We find it concerning that despite using Downr for free for a long time, you did not reach out to us through our contact email (clearly mentioned on our website) to report this issue. Instead, you chose to post a public accusation here.
The moment we received this feedback on Trustpilot, we immediately investigated the issue with our ad provider and removed the ads in question. This was not due to malware or phishing, as claimed, but due to an issue on the ad provider’s side, where certain ads were being served without proper disclosure. We do not tolerate such behavior, even if it happens silently without our knowledge.
To be clear, we have since moved to a donation-only model, which means Downr now runs with zero ads. There are currently no banner ads, no pop-ups, and no third-party ads of any kind. Your review does not reflect the current state of the platform.
We encourage users to verify the facts themselves by visiting the website and seeing the current experience firsthand. We have been transparent about the situation and have taken immediate corrective action. Ultimately, we believe users should judge based on reality, not outdated assumptions.
We have shared the facts publicly and will let users decide for themselves.
