My experience with Dash Cams over the years
I have had a few Dash Cameras over the years, and the advancement is to say the least astounding. We purchased a KIA Sportage a year or so back and had a Uvue Plus Dash Cam supplied and installed for $1100. My wife purchased a Volkswagen Tiguan and searched for a suitable dash cam and considered the $390 cost of the drivevision dash cam more than reasonable. When comparing the video on each of these dash cams, there is certainly no standout difference and, on this basis, I would not hesitate in recommending the drivevision to anyone who is intending to purchase a extremely good quality dash cam at a more than reasonable price.
So far, so good
So far I like the product. Neatly packed. I had it professionally installed so it is working well. However, I will reserve my final judgement after a few months’ operation. My major frustrations so far have been the length of time from ordering to delivery-several weeks and dealing with AI rather than being able to speak to a real human. Early on I did wonder whether I had been scammed. I am pleased to say that all seems well now at this early stage of my use of a dash cam.
Looks are deceiving
Bought the camera last yr end of December, worked well at 1st then weather temperature increases and that’s when the problems started to happen.
Drive vision dash cams do not stand up to Australian road conditions as advertised, unit keeps on switching on and off when temperatures exceed 35 degrees plus.
I’ve asked for a replacement at first and you just send me a memory card, now I’ve asked for a full refund.
Drive Vision keeps on sending the same trouble shooting emails, but reading all other negative reviews I see I’m not the only one with the turning on/turning off problems.
Should have just spent more money and get a Blackvue system, thought I’d support an “Australian” company but I guess I was wrong.
This place just takes your money and doesn’t offer any immediate support, waiting days for a reply. And they don’t even have a phone number to call, perhaps that’s why of the inundated complains there will get.
Failed at the first hurdle.
Bought this unit late last year, have today tried to install it. I failed at the first hurdle. The information book advises you to use the electrostatic film prior to fitting the unit to your windscreen. I followed the instructions to the letter, and the electrostatic film just peeled off the screen once l’d attached the unit. I now have to try and source some really good double sided sticky pads. I would have been better to leave the electrostatic film off.
They lied about having item in stock
They told me everything was in stock and was going to get shipped straight away, however this wasnt the truth, ondered on the 22nd of Jan and am still waiting on the 5th Feb for an update. Only way to speak to them is with an AI bot and no humans, as they don't have a contact number. People have told me the product is good, however there professionalism it not so good. Very disappointing.

Reply from Drivevision
Product failed when I needed it most
UPDATE:
Drive Vision has now contacted me and has promised to send a replacement unit tomorrow. I was advised that they were inundated with emails due to the Christmas holiday period.
That said, a simple workaround for this would be to set proper customer expectations upfront, such as an automatic reply on live chat and email clearly stating that there may be no real-time agent available and that responses could take x hours. This would prevent customers from panicking or waiting hours thinking someone is actively on chat.
I also want to mention that I really appreciate the callback and their willingness to improve their system, as it shows they genuinely care about their products and their customers.
I will update again once the replacement arrives and I’ve had a chance to test it.
INITIAL REVIEW:
I was initially happy with this dash cam. Setup was easy, the app connected smoothly at first, and the video quality was clear.
However, after only about two months of use, the Wi-Fi and GPS failed completely, making the footage inaccessible. This became a serious safety issue when I was almost hit by another car yesterday and urgently needed to access the recording — but I couldn’t retrieve it due to the connectivity failure. A dash cam is supposed to be reliable when it matters most, and this one failed exactly at that moment.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I also purchased the extended warranty, specifically for peace of mind — yet I still cannot get proper support.
Customer service has been terrible:
• I sent an email yesterday and still have no response
• Today I used live chat, first message sent at 11:20 AM
• An agent only replied at 12:23 PM
• I responded within minutes and followed up
• It is now after 4:25 PM and I still received no reply
Live chat is supposed to be a quick alternative — waiting hours for a response is unacceptable. For a product that costs over $300 and is marketed as suitable for Australian conditions, this level of reliability and support is extremely disappointing.
Customer service is supposed to be the company’s opportunity to shine and truly support and delight customers when things go wrong. Instead, this experience has left me feeling completely hopeless and unsupported — a total epic failure in customer service.
At the end of the day, companies lose customers because of poor customer service, especially when something goes wrong. Right now, I honestly feel like I may have thrown away my money. I cannot recommend this brand based on both product failure and lack of customer support — even with an extended warranty.
Lack of communication but reasonable outcome
I placed an order earlier in the week & have heard nothing from them. I've sent 2 emails since & tried to contact them on the chat to find out when my order will be shipped. I cannot get in contact with them at all.
Update: I received contact after I wrote this review. They refunded my purchase quickly after that contact on request. They were apparently in the midst of a warehouse move. While communication was not good during that week, the outcome was better than I expected at the time.
Great after sales support
I purchased a Drivevision 4K Dashcam about 12 months ago. It has performed really well with a couple of hiccups. The first time I had connectivity issues with the app and their support team responded straight away and the issues were sorted. The next issue was of my own doing as I purchased a 256GB micro SD card which had problems recording all the data. I contacted Drivevision support and they fixed my problem with exceptional service and I now have a Drivevision 256GB card with no problems encountered. Highly recommend the 4K Dashcam.
Great cameras
Great cameras, both front and rear. Took an hour to install. Postage was very slow but did arrive after 2 weeks.
I first view DriveVision on Google and…
I first view DriveVision on Google and I was impress with the reviews, I then purchased two 4k units one for myself the other for my wife car still waiting on delivery,I'm very happy with my DriveVision 4K with rear view.
It's a quality product
It's a quality product. Seems to be working well. I haven't had a chance to install the rear view camera yet but this all seems straight forward. Comes complete with everything for an installation.
Drive Vision better than my expensive leading brand
Great vision and sound. Easy to access SD card to download on my PC where I can edit videos or append. Wish I had discovered Drive vision before I installed a leading brand at twice the price, with 1 minute videos, in my other car.
Awesome product
Great service, great product and was simply easier to order. Had the dash cam installed couldn't be happier so easy to use.

Changed from BlackView DR900S 2CH
Changed from BlackView DR900S 2CH, 4K front, 2K rear with battery backup for parking mode hardwired (36 hours recording). DriveVision camera with super capacitor is instant start, app and wifi much simpler, quicker and 1/3 price with clearer vision. Keep up the good work.
Quality at reasonable pricing
The product is not only easy to install but it performs well in challenging light conditions and is easy to use from even the app side for non tech savvy customers.
Great experience with DriveVision
Was very happy with my experience dealing with DriveVision. Ordering was easy and delivery quick. Did heaps of research before buying and settled on DriveVision. Great 4K front camera and 2k rear with all the necessary hardware to fit it up. App works fine and camera is delivering the goods, really like the parking mode. The camera is great value and dealing with the guys was easy. Would recommend.
The Drive Vision dashcam system is easy…
The Drive Vision dashcam system is easy to use and good value. The 4k camera provides very clear video.
Sooo pleased with my Drive Vision ...
I recently purchased the 4K front camera, 2K rear camera and a 256Gb SD card from Drive Vision.
I watched the online installation tutorial which was so easy to understand, that I decided to install the cameras myself (I'm a 70yo female). I wasn't confident connecting it to the fuses, so I engaged an auto electrician (cost me a few stubbies).
I downloaded the app and 'voila' instant clear pictures.
It's easy to view on iphone and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this brand and camera.
