So we paid £1,200 to Steven Williams at Drop studio for a pitchdeck which we never received. We arranged a meeting with him to ask for a refund and he said he would look into it, we sent him an email... See more

An excellent experience with Drop Studio
We had an excellent experience with Drop Studio. I must say the team are well versed with the in and outs of crowdfunding. Within no time our campaign was fine tuned, crafted to perfection and was ready to go live. Would recommend and use their services again.

Really really bad, absolute waste of money!
I am not happy with my experience with Drop Studio, I approached them summer 2019 to make a crowdfunding video for my invention because their show-reel looked great, my interactions with them went well at the start, I was very confident.
With hindsight the first red flag was the 'treatments' they delivered, this was 3 short concepts for the video, two were really quite bad, and it clearly demonstrated that the person who was coming up with these ideas not only had bad taste but had not read any of the material I had provided about how I wanted the product to be marketed. The 3rd idea was inspired by an audi advert, and whilst I didn't like their idea of how to re-interpret the advert, I did like the idea to take inspiration from the advert. The script that was written once I chose to go with this concept was bad, I had to completely re-write it from scratch myself, in fact besides pointing at someone else’s work, I can’t say drop studio contributed anything to this video pre-production.
When we finally got to shooting, everything seemed ok, the director was quite authoritative and appeared to know what he was doing, so I told him how I wanted things and let him get on with it. I left the day feeling confident that I'd have a great video soon.
Then they delivered the first edit, and I was shocked... they had edited it all in the wrong order, neglected the script I had written, the audio recordings were of a really poor quality, the lighting was bad and you can see us reading an autocue (when we were assured that this wouldn’t be the case). Furthermore there was very little in the way of directing being done, I had a million things on my mind, so I failed to realise I hadn’t buttoned up my shirt, and I wasn’t sitting with a good posture… this is something that everyone I have showed the video to picks up on, and could have been easily fixed if the director had simply done his job.
I responded and they did fix all of the editing issues, but said that I would have to pay them £2000 for a a whole extra day of filming in order to fix all of the errors THEY made when filming the studio footage.
Furthermore, I bought a package that included 'animation', and when I gave them a brief for the animation, I was responded to with an estimate that my brief would take 2 days to complete and this would cost £800 plus VAT. Baffled I responded showing them the receipt they had sent me with 'animation' included in the package, to which they responded that I did have animation already, which was the text overlay that popped up a couple of times in the video! Apparently only the more expensive packages offered "3d animation"!
I am going to have to re-film all of the studio footage, and I am going to have to pay for filming/editing/studio space/actors/travel/food and so on, not to mention my time and the stress and delays this has caused me. Furthermore this means that all of the extra money I put into paying for the expenses on the day we filmed was wasted. Realistically this unprofessionalism will end up costing me at least £2,500 and has set me back quite some time. Oh and I ended up paying a friend to do the animations for me and she costed £150 a day for two days and they are excellent.
So after all of this, the only thing that can be used is the first 45 seconds, and the last 5 second at the end, and this cost me £3600 directly to Drop, plus an extra £1000 in other expenses.
I emailed Drop with all of my criticisms a few weeks ago as a final attempt to resolve this somehow, and they didn't respond.
