Dunelm collection of returned furniture abysmal
Bought a chair online which was delivered a few days later. On unpacking, the “velvet” was a shiny fabric with no pile, so decided to return it and order a more expensive one. Arranged for the first chair to be collected and refunded.
Second, more expensive chair was delivered 2 days later and was just right. Still no response about collection of chair 1. Tried phoning customer service phone line which wasn't answered in 55 mins so hung up. Tried using live chat which directed me back to email. Sent another email. We were rather crowded with 2 new chairs in our sitting room, one awaiting uplift. Need the chair gone by 4 July for busy family party.
After 3 days, got a response from furniture collection email which offered 2 potential dates for uplift of chair. Chose a date and responded within an hour. No response till the following day - “Sorry, this date now full, please choose another.”
We went round in this cycle 3 times. I was offered and accepted 5 July. Response from different customer service person, “Sorry, don’t work Sundays.”
Tried emailing Nick Wilkinson, their CEO only he’s no longer using the published email address.
Apart from wanting the chair gone to give us some space, I’m keen to get a refund so I can pay my credit card bill.
It’s such a shame - products good, delivery good, collection abysmal. Do not buy large goods from Dunelm.
