Positive Feedback- Hotel improving

Staying at Lodges beside Dunkeld House Hotel. We're treated as non residents so need to book table for dinner etc. I went to book for an evening meal 2 days later, but was advised that due to having 2 bus coaches in we'd have to choose either an early or later sitting. We chose the earlier one of 5.45pm. There were 4 of us and were seated in a lovely booth in corner of dining room. It felt very special. The service and food was second to none. We weren't hashed at all, although when we left they were mid service for the coach parties and staff looked calm, attentive and experienced. I say this as I've been visiting this hotel annually for a number of years when staying in the Lodges, and I've been unable to give a positive review over recent years, and one visit felt like faulty towers, however, management has changed in last couple of years and wow, what a difference! Changes start at the top and work their way down to happy, confident staff. Management very visible in all areas of hotel and it has a very positive impact. Keep up the good work.

Horrendous Customer Service

I booked my sister and myself in for a night in late May. The beds were so hard that none of us got a good night's sleep. I had also booked a night for me and my other sister (I have a lot of sisters! :) ) in mid-August, but having had a bad night I contacted the hotel and asked if I could request a refund. They said I would have to cancel first and then request the refund. I cancelled and then requested the refund and...you guessed it! No refund! So now they have my money AND a room they can book again. And I have no room even though I paid for one....

Shocking customer service and I've not…

Shocking customer service and I've not even arrived yet!
Booked this as a 50th birthday treat along with a full day Landrover Experience Scotland
I had to postpone the first date due to ill health. Landrover have been so accommodating at every turn.
Had to try to decide when to rebook for by 12pm on day of cancellation or payment was lost( non refundable)
So I'm sick , I'm travelling with a friend and they insist I converse and plan next trip there and then!
The stress
Having rebooked hurriedly for Wednesday 27th march , I am in the midst of a serious asthma attack along with a cracked rib as a result of violent coughing.
Oh and I also have a funeral that day to.
Started another course of antibiotics and steroids. In so much pain.
I rescheduled Landrover with ease, the hotel however have informed me that i will not be able to reschedule and the money paid for the room will be lost.
I hardly ever complain but the attitude of the staff and company policies are ridiculous, I thought given my extenuating circumstances there would be some empathy and compassion???
Obviously not !
Dreadful experience from start to finish.
I will never ever ever be booking at your hotel!!!!

My family and I travelled to Dunkeld…

AFTERNOON TEA AWFUL.

My family and I travelled to Dunkeld House Hotel, rather than book, we stopped in to see if “afternoon tea” was available. A while later our requested tea etc was served. We were extremely disappointed, Scones were rock hard and basically disintegrated on our plates. Butter could not even be spread onto our scones. This also applied to Cream and Jam.

The price of £88.50 for 3 was not an issue had our experience been 100%, however ‘Scones’ should have been easy to cut rather than a plate full of crumbled mess. Rather than cause an issue we departed.

Extremely disappointed, my family and I travelled from Crieff to this hotel, we would have been far better purchasing Scones etc from a local bakery or supermarket. Extremely disappointing experience for such an alleged “up market” hotel.

Extremely poor service from start to finish

On arrival at reception we were informed that there was renovations taking place but that they would be completed by 5.30 each day but at 7.30 in the evening building noise was still clearly audible.
At reception we were booked in for one night despite having booked for two.
Getting served in the bar was an issue as staff usually ignored me even although I was the only person waiting to be served.
The restaurant service was so slow. We waited over 20 minutes after being seated for a drink or food order to be taken. The couple next to us waited longer. Despite informing our server that we were on a DBB basis my wife's meal was charged to our bill.
The fan in our room toilet was on permanently and required the electrical supply to our room to be switched off to stop it. This meant that we could not switch on the toilet light during the night or the fan would come back on.
In the morning there was a knock on our door and a member of staff just opened it and walked in without waiting for the door to be opened to them. His excuse was that he thought we had checked out even though we weren't due to check out till the following day.
There were other issues but I think I've listed enough but will finish by saying that I was told at reception to email the duty manager which I did three times without reply, I also emailed the operational manager but got no reply. This is not a hotel I would recommend staying at as the service is so poor and they clearly do not care about resolving customer concerns.

Very disappointed

On arrival was very impressed unfortunately went downhill from there. Dinner booked for 7pm hotel changed to 8pm, no biggie happy to oblige. At 8pm waited til 8:10 for head waiter to appear after another wait said table delayed can we wait in bar area he would come get us. 9pm no sign of him so go to complain eventually get seated for dinner over an hour late, order taken and first course appears fairly quickly which was delicious however no one ever came to attend to us over the next 45 minutes and no main meal appeared, walked out with disgust and main man had no words or excuses . Some people can eat after 10pm but not me I’m afraid. I must point out that the bar staff were extremely helpful and apologetic but non the less we left hungry and exceptionally disappointed

Staff and Service Terrible

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times now, and it really disappoints me to be writing a 1 star review about it. The location is fantastic and the Hotel is beautiful, however, this year the service was atrocious and certainly not what you would expect for the standard and cost of the hotel.

We requested a family room with a bath (for bathing a 6 month old and 2.5 year old), a sofa bed and a cot (which was confirmed) and arrived to get a room with no bath, a sofa bed and a camp bed and no real explanation or apology.

The staff did not seem to be bothered about any level of service, huge delays from ordering to receiving drinks or food from the bar, food delivered to outdoor tables without any cutlery or offer of any condiments and a total lack of consistency and care about customers.

There seemed to be no management at all and certainly no one holding anybody to account. The staff we literally walking round in circles.

On the plus side, the food is still very good.. although breakfast is now a buffet and i'm still waiting for my pot of tea which i asked for each and every morning!
