The only local garage I'll use

I moved to this area 10 years ago and have only ever used this garage Graham and his team are fantastic. Customer service is spot on.Prices are fair and repairs are done well.

I use them for service for my car and VW camper and trust them 100%

I have recommended them to many people who also now won't go anywhere else.

A very professional and well organised…

A very professional and well organised garage. Clear pricing ( significantly less than main dealers). My car had service, MOT, Brake fluid change and Air Con service - very pleased with the work, the car was ready when I requested and everything went smoothly.
The garage was recommended to me by a friend and I can highly recommend it also.

Honest and reliable, recommend wholeheartedly

I have been to this garage multiple times with my car and found them to be reliable and honest. Which is a godsend in the mechanic world. Truthful about the problems and reasonable in solutions to fix them. Always kept well informed with what's going on. Other family members also use them regularly for services etc and I would highly recommend them as a friendly, honest and professional local garage.

Took my car to Dunnington to get air…

Took my car to Dunnington to get air conditioning serviced and new gas. Such a friendly team and when I first called them managed to fit it in that day. They were very helpful and explained costs before it was taken so i knew what to expect.

They rang me that afternoon when it was ready and charged me a very very fair price.

All in a great garage which I will definitely be back to.Highly recommend

Went above and beyond ⭐️

I moved to the area 3 years ago and this was my local garage.
I have been using Dunnington Motor Care for our two family cars since this time. On Monday I logged onto DVLA and realised my MOT was due the next day. (The first day back to school for the children) and my partners working away… absolute panic stations. I rang Dunnington motor care and spoke to Graham who said he would make sure he could fit it in, so I took it the next day at 9am. My car failed the mot :( he gave me a courtesy car and even managed to get the parts ordered , fitted and my car back to me by tea time 🌟.
To say they went above and beyond for a stressed mum with no organisational skills whatsoever is an understatement I can’t thank them enough.
Thank you Graham and the wonderful ladies on the desk you literally saved the day!!!

Great service

I took my car here for a service . From start to finish I had a great experience. The staff were friendly , the service was very prompt and reasonably priced . The initial greeting and waiting area for great with offering of seating and coffee area. I would highly recommend to others.

Avoid

These people have some kind of deal with the RAC. So when my car broke down with a leaking power steering hose and no garage in York would look at it I decided to have the RCA send it to my garage 185 miles away.

When the RAC turned up (over three hours later) they tell me they can send it to a local garage. So after a farce where the pick-up truck was sent to the wrong address and I missed an important business meeting the car was sent to Dunningtons.

On the phone they tell me the head gasket has gone implying the car is a write-off. This is not correct. So I go back to the RAC and get them to follow my initial instruction and have the car sent to my garage in Essex.

Dunnington want me to pay an inspection fee. Dunnington also want me to pay a daily storage cost. Dunnington have no contractual right to demand this payment and the car owner (who has no contract with Dunnington) have no obligation to pay these costs. This was explained to Dunningtons.

When the car arrives at my garage in Essex the driver’s manual is not in the glove-box. After a complaint to the RAC that lasted over a month and where I suspect the RAC lied I still do not have my driver’s manual. I contacted Dunnington’s to ask if they have the manual or whether the RAC contacted them looking for the manual. Dunningtons don’t have the courtesy to reply to my mails.

So they took my car:
1. mis-diagnosed the problem,
2. tried to charge me for amounts they had no right to,
3. lost my driver’s manual, and
4. don’t even reply to my requests for the return of my property.

Leave your vehicle with these people at your own risk.

If they think they have a right to withhold my manual because they think I owe them money they do not. They cannot exercise a lien over my goods if they do not have a contractual right to the moneys they claim. If they don’t understand that they should seek legal advice.

It has taken them seven months to write what appears to be disingenuous twaddle and vaguely veiled threats.

Bring it on Duncington Motors.

We are incredibly lucky to have a wonderful solicitor. I thank you for your suggestion of seeking legal advice, we will of course look into this as requested.

It seems, having read your previous reviews, you are quite often dealt a bad hand by all. I'm so very sorry that you seem to have such a common string of very bad luck with all businesses with whom you have been in contact. This seems so incredibly unfortunate and for this I am so very sorry.

Having read your review, in the words of our late queen and in our case, 'recollections may vary' on the subjects you so kindly itemised in your version of events.

Having viewed all previous feedback you have provided on Trust Pilot regarding other businesses, and of course with your own sound legal expertise, I am very surprised, given the information you have provided above regarding our own business as 'fact' that you have not come across the term 'defamation' in replies from them?
Luckily, like this review, these businesses are accessible to the public and I'm sure they would be interested in dealing with the issues you have raised on Trust Pilot accordingly after a small informative 'prompt'.

As a small, independent business that has had to work very hard to build trust and an impeccable reputation within our community, and whom also, through annual stringent auditing with the RAC have earned the right to become an authorised RAC repair centre to help those who find
themselves in difficulty, we may differ in that we are very well versed in dealing with all matters of a legal nature due to my legal background before joining my husband within the business following the birth of our young children.

Small, family run businesses such as ours whose reputation, livelihood and entire existence can he so severely damaged by fraudulent and libellous reviews will vigorously defend themselves when false defamatory statements are made, on the internet, for everyone to see. Unfortunately we now have to given the irreparable damage 'keyboard warrior' can do when providing false information on the internet.
Luckily for us, knowledge is power and small businesses are fighting back!

Additionally, after reading your review, it seems our email system had the immediate inclination to 'spam' the 'three' threat emails you sent regarding your missing log book?

Please accept our apologies for not replying to your emails threatening to leave a damaging 'trust pilot' review if we do not reply to your demand of knowing if we had heard from the RAC regarding your complaint to them.
Luckily, we now have access to these to refer to and use if required.

As a business, we are not associated with your complaint to the RAC so you will need to address any concerns directly with them.

Additionally, after reading your review, I can confirm that we do not, nor have we ever had your logbook.

These can be purchased if required which I am sure the RAC would be delighted to assist you with this matter.

Thank you also for your reminder regarding your invoice for goods provided.
Our excellent and very knowledgeable mechanics, whose wages we pay, spent two hours looking at and diagnosing your broken down vehicle.
This is still outstanding and legally payable.

I could request that Trust Pilot remove your review, but I won't.
I will instead leave my reply here for you in the hope of it being 'informative' and will also, hopefully, serve as a 'preventative' for the next time you are inclined to leave a similar review for another small business.
Of course, you may also be inclined to remove this review yourself, given the defamatory remarks and purpose?
Of course however, screen shots have been made and its daily, online presence can be calculated.
