Trash Accumulation / Retaliation
DYE Hair Salon's ongoing trash accumulation over the last year and a half; led to complaints to my property management (Ferguson & Brewer Investment Co.), which resulted in F&B and Shelby's Pest Control conspiring to and criminally saturating my private back patio with pesticides, without proper notice or consent.
This ongoing trash accumulation directly violates local and state sanitation laws:
Municipal Solid Waste Codes: Refusal to utilize closed, lid-secured commercial containers, causing open overflow and alleyway litter spills.
Health & Sanitation Regulations: Chronic storage of commercial refuse in non-compliant containers, creating active vector breeding grounds (flies, roaches, rodents).
Nuisance & Safety Codes: Accumulation of loose cardboard and commercial waste piled on pavement directly adjacent to residential space.
Commercial waste must be properly contained in secured dumpsters. Neighboring residents shouldn't suffer because a business refuses to maintain basic sanitation.
To anyone spinning narratives about our involvement with this business. There has never been any contact between our home and the owner of this business, or their customers. In fact, we have never even seen the business owner to know what they look like. Sure, we've heard people come out their back door, but we never pay any attention to faces, why should we? Since we've lived here, we've never even spoken to management for James Square (where this business resides), regarding anything, let alone DYE Hair Salon. If you'll notice, I'm not even directly addressing the business owner in this review. Why? Because harassing the owner is not our objective.
Code Enforcement have been involved in this process for nearly a year. They served DYE Hair Salon with a notice of violation on October 17th 2025, and subsequently another notice on June 25th 2026 that included a $100 fine and stipulation to have service with NRWS and compliant lidded bins by July 9th 2026. They've since been non-compliant. Had they complied with Code Enforcement in October, the stacked trash may not have happened, and therefore it may not have been knocked down and scattered about. This also means the unlawful pesticide saturation of our home probably would not have happened, as we would not have had to complain to the offending parties.
After Code Enforcement's recent mismanagement of this case, the owner of the management company for James Square (Simplistic Realty) obtained our contact information through unlawful dissemination of information, and subsequently sent both me and my daughter threats via email. This is Anti-SLAPP retaliatory harassment, attempting to get our home to stop filing justified regulatory complaints regarding DYE Hair Salon's ongoing trash accumulation. This also constitutes criminal harassment due to the dissemination of information for the purpose of harassing our home. Sending threats on behalf of 3rd parties without a law license, is Unlicensed Practice of Law (UPL). We also became aware of a public video recorded by local news network (Action News Now) that identifies the person sending the unsolicited email as a convicted felon and registered sex offender. These violations have been reported to law enforcement. A State Bar (UPL) complaint has been filed on the owner of Simplistic Realty, as well as a Department of Real Estate (DRE) complaint against their real estate license, for bad-faith business practice, and violations of several Business and Professions Codes.
I promise, I will remove this negative but necessary review once they stop leaving uncovered trash in non-compliant unlidded bins and truly consider what they have done, and how it has devastated my life and the lives of the rest of my household over the last year and a half.☮️🕊️
