Visited Dyfed Menswear after calling ahead to confirm a specific suit I’d seen on their Instagram was available to try on. I was told it was in store, so I booked an appointment and travelled over with my husband‑to‑be. On arrival, we were greeted with: “Sorry, it’s not here – and I forgot your name to let you know.” Not exactly a great start.

We were actually looking to hire or buy nine suits, so this wasn’t a small enquiry. Since we’d already travelled and had an appointment, we said we’d look at other options. Instead of helping, we were told my partner “shouldn’t have a tux” because we’re not having a black‑tie wedding. Last time I checked, what he chooses to wear is entirely his decision. The way it was said – followed by an unnecessary explanation of what a tuxedo is – felt incredibly patronising.

We tried to salvage the appointment and asked to try on a suit. They brought my partner a white shirt… which had dried blood on it. That was the final straw, and we walked out.

The difference between the service my husband‑to‑be received here compared to the experience I had when dress shopping was honestly shocking. This was supposed to be our first suit‑shopping moment together, and it was completely ruined. I left feeling genuinely gutted for him.

I would never recommend Dyfed Menswear.

I can’t recommend Dyfed Menswear Malpas enough! Sam and Lisa were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The service was excellent really friendly, welcoming, and professional, but also a good laugh which made the whole experience even better.

They took the time to go through all the options and were amazing at helping us choose the perfect suits and combinations. Nothing felt rushed, and their knowledge and advice made a big difference.

If you’re looking for great service, a relaxed atmosphere, and people who genuinely care about getting everything just right, Sam and Lisa are the ones to see!

Sam and Lisa were great today in our appointment for my fiance. Really friendly and helped us. Will be booking for the wedding with the tuxedo.

We went to Dyfed Menswear today and honestly, they were amazing from start to finish. We walked in with barely an idea of what we wanted, and within minutes they helped me and my fiancé find the perfect suit. They made him feel confident and looked after, which meant so much, especially with it being for our wedding.

The staff were incredible with our boys too. One of the ladies held our baby so I could get our toddler dressed, and when our toddler started to get overwhelmed they were so gentle and encouraging with him. They didn’t make us feel rushed or awkward at all — just really kind, patient people who genuinely cared.

They helped with colours, styles, and even sorted out the suits for the other men without any stress. It was such a good experience, and I’d go back there every time. Can’t recommend them enough.

I used Dyfed Menswear to hire 5 suits for my recent wedding.

From the initial appointment to choose the suits (including the first fitting for myself and the best man) in Cross Hands, to the subsequent first fittings for the rest of the guys in Cardiff & Cross Hands, right through to the final fittings and the return of the suits, I can't praise them enough. All staff were very friendly and helpful and the suits were fab! Thank you.

Went to dyfed menswear in ystrad Mynach Saturday 4th and while happily looking at a few outfits for a wedding at the vale .Found gentleman so rude !!!! Got an appointment he said !!!!!wow bit stunned ,and he was with other customers what an experience .we made our exit and said no worries well go somewhere with some general politeness never mind good customer service .Honestly will never spend a penny with your company and will let others know of our experience as well !

Went to Dyfed's today to pick out our wedding suits! We honestly cannot thank Sam in the Newport store enough! He listened to everything we said and was so helpful, nothing was to much trouble! Made our experience the best we could imagine!
Thank you Sam and hopefully see you soon when the boys come to get measured!

We used Dyfed Menswear Newport for Six suits. Lisa and Sam did brilliantly, with help picking our choice of suit and the measurements of all the party. It was made so effortless and with much laughter with these pair I’m tempted to say I wish I could do it all again! Even when one of the Bestmen had unknowingly put on a little weight between fittings they managed to sort out a ‘bigger’ pair in no time to avoid a disaster and that bestman heading to the local gym for a quick workout!
Can’t say more than I Happily recommend them to my wife’s bridesmaid who caught the bouquet.

We used Dyfed Menswear for our wedding suit hire, and the experience was truly fantastic! When I left my husband with Kyle, a member of the Cross Hands team, I had no idea what suit colour or style he would choose - I simply shared our wedding vision: timeless, romantic, and elegant. I had no input in the suit selection at all, so when I walked down the aisle and saw my husband for the first time, it was breathtaking, an absolute “wow” moment!

My husband is 6'3", and the Cross Hands team measured him to absolute perfection. His navy tux with a low-scoop waistcoat was stunning. The pageboy was a real showstopper too, receiving so much attention in his mini tux!

Cardiff handled the best man and pageboy’s suits, and while they looked amazing, there were some issues with the process. At one point, Cardiff mistakenly believed they were measuring three people instead of two, and despite my clarification over the phone, there was still confusion once the suits were measured. Additionally, there was a mix-up with pickup timing. Cardiff informed us the suits were ready to collect, but when the groom arrived, they weren’t actually available. So the groom returned a few days later to collect them, only to find they still weren’t ready, requiring a second trip a few hours later. However, Cardiff redeemed themselves when an urgent steaming was needed before the wedding due to the suit being crushed during transport, and they handled it efficiently in time for the big day.

Despite these hiccups, our overall experience was excellent. Huge thanks to Dyfed Menswear, especially Kyle and the Cross Hands team, for making sure everyone looked so sharp and elegant on our big day!

Kyle was absolutely fantastic with us today he went above and beyond with no trouble at all for him. Would definitely recommend for suits they were stunning and Kyle made sure we were 100% satisfied with the way the suit felt and looked before we purchased. Thank you again we really do appreciate all your help today.

Amazing service received from Sam and Lisa at your Newport store today, we were looking for the perfect suits for our upcoming wedding and were instantly put at ease in a friendly atmosphere and given all the time that we needed to try different styles and colours, thank you both for making this so easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fairly okay, a mixed bag with a 3-way piece suit. The trousers are baggy and the vest doesn't fit nicely, too much loose, even its the right size. The jacket is the best out them all. Good quality but size and loose baggies that need to work on areas!

My daughter is getting married a week today. Picked the suits up early and they were almost charged extra for early pick up.
Father of the bride tried his suit on,
he looked like a clown everything was so big on him he looked ridiculous. There was lots of stress and tears. We all live 2 hours away from the shop so can’t just call in for a fitting. Terrible service sizes all wrong. Even down to the shoes all had to downsize

I am writing to convey our sincere appreciation for the manner in which you dealt with us pre, during and post the wedding of our Son and Daughter in law who married on 19th September 2024.
Your welcome to the branch was an experience in itself. However, the knowledge, skill, support and professionalism of you and your staff made the wedding day an exceptional occasion. I would stress the importance of your 'leading' services to all!

I visited Dyfed Menswear in Gorslas primarily to get a suit dry cleaned and the staff were very helpful.
I browsed around and saw a lot of suits that I liked but most of them were not in my size as I like them to be rather loose fitting.
I decided that I would try some on and they found an "end of line" suit in their storeroom that I liked and which I decided to buy.
However, when they told me the price it was outside of the price range I had in mind, but the Manager/Owner (John) dropped over 30% off the price as it was the only one left in the store.
They even let out the trouser so that they were looser around the wasit and far more comfortable.
I am more than happy with the service I received and will certainly return there for dry cleaning and to buy more items of clothing which all looked to be great quality and reasonably priced.

Hired 8 suits for my sons wedding at the beginning August. The wedding was on a Friday and we had a call to pick them up on the Tuesday. We were advised to check them as soon as we got home and to contact the shop if there was any alterations needed. As 2 of the suits were for 2 children, we thought that might be the only problem to have to deal with due to growth.
When we got home my husband tried his trousers on only to find stitching on the crotch in a different colour cotton. This was very noticeable and uncomfortable.
The brides father had a big rip on the inside of his jacket and again,very bad stitching on the other side. The grooms trousers had a stain on, the best mans trousers had a bad stain but was able to be covered by his waistcoat. When we contacted the shop we were told nothing could be done that day(Wednesday) as they don't have a seamstress working a Wednesday. The day before the wedding we went back to the shop and my husbands trousers were replaced with another pair of trousers that were very close to ripping on the backside area. They had been hemmed up by about 5inches and you could see every stitch. My 7 year old grandsons trousers were hemmed up by about 10 inches. Again, you could see where stitch.
As this was the day before the wedding, we had no option but to accept these suits.
It is really appalling that they are getting away with this knowing people rely on them so close to their special day and are unable to do anything about it. The shop itself looks really presentable and of good quality. But we feel really let down by the whole experience.
This shop was recommended to us as they had a good experience, but if you want a stress free wedding, I would definitely look elsewhere other than Dyfed menswear.

I got married at the start of May and had the pleasure of going to the Bristol store and being assisted by Bethany and all the staff. From the minute we entered the building we felt welcomed and in good hands, we had an initial fitting of the suit I’d decided on followed by a final fitting to check measurements etc a couple of weeks before and a third visit to collect and make my final payments. From start to finish nothing but pleasant and professional. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Visited dyfed Menswear following a last minute invitation to a black tie dinner. I was seen by Katie, who explained the different suits available and the different styles. I went with the style she recommended and found the suit fitted exactly to my size and was very stylish. Great choice and service as always and would definitely recommend the business to others. Called in before work and was quickly on my way with my suit in hand ! When I returned the suit, Katie again saw to me and she enquired if I enjoyed the evening. A nice personal touch and will be back again.

The staff are very helpful I had no complaints. Although the standard fit of the suits does no justice for a slimmer person and looks extremely unflattering. If your looking for a smart tailored fit I suggest looking elsewhere. More geared towards stockier or larger men as the cut is fairly baggy. This aside the suits are aesthetically pleasing, it's a pity they dont offer varied cuts.

This refers to the shop in Ystrad mynach. I rented 3 suits here for my groomsmen. I paid £420 in total. The suits were issued a few days before the wedding. Now considering the money paid you would think at least some quality would be involved. However on the wedding day one of my groomsmen complained of his trousers literally splitting in-between his legs. Laughable at the time but in hignsight disgusting that the trousers were issued in that state. Another groomsmen complained of his buttons falling off his blazer. After charging me so much for this poor quality clothing it shows what this shop is about. Go further a field if you want better quality clothing for your big day and avoid these crooks.
