The Dyslexia Foundation has been a cornerstone in my journey. From the early days, Steve and the team were there for me when I struggled to string a sentence together. Their unwavering support and encouragement helped me navigate through some of the toughest times. They even assisted me in securing funding when I was unemployed, which was a lifeline.
Today, I am proud to work with adults with learning disabilities as a Health and Safety Lead. This role allows me to give back and support others in ways I once needed. Just last week, I achieved a milestone I once thought was impossible—I graduated from Warwick University. This was a dream I had 25 years ago, and it has finally come true.
The Dyslexia Foundation always encouraged me to never give up on myself, and their belief in me made all the difference. Their support has been invaluable, and I am forever grateful. God bless.

Absolutely disgraceful service I’m 50 years old and struggled with dyslexia all my life. Nobody can help me. I’ve been to every single place that you can think of for somebody to do an assessment for me as I’m on a carers allowance. I look after a mother who is 84 with Alzheimer’s and dementia full-time. I have no extra money and nobody can help me get an assessment done my doctor says no dyslexic Association so they have a fund for young people but not anybody over the age of 20 which I want to study to do nursing and this is making my life difficult. Not only that I’ve struggled all my life communication with everybody maths English disgraceful that you just let old are people with dyslexia rot. Absolutely outrageous

I have been working with Isobel for the last 6 months. Isobel has been exceptional, she has gone above and beyond for me to support me to complete my university course which was not an easy task with my difficulties. She is so warm, non-judgemental and extrememly helpful. I would not have gotten where I am without her support.

Managed to get a cancellation for a pre-university assessment. Really pleased with the process, the assessor & assessment as well as the very thorough report that was produced. Thanks to the Dyslexia Foundation my son will have a better start at university as his needs are now known.

I can’t thank the dyslexia foundation enough for the help and support they have gave my partner . Because of their help he was able to pass his driving theory test and is now onto his HGV theory test .

I had a nice experience, discovered some new things about myself . I was promised a detailed feedback as well as another session to discuss results, which I think is really useful.
Had support from Liz for two years and I truly couldn’t have got through my academics without her. With support with the specific writing has made me notice my mistakes help me improve on my weaknesses but also gain confidence. On top of this I have support on my time keeping and stress levels that has always been a running issue.
The support and running of the foundation is brilliant has helped me massively to achieve what I have and will forever be grateful.
Isobel Reid has been extremely helpful in supporting me through the three years that I have been at university. She is really patient and someone I could always talk to and ask for guidance on exams and assignments. I am really thankful for all the support she has provided me with, such as helping me to fix gramma mistakes and how to properly structure paragraphs. I believe that without Isobel’s help, I wouldn’t have gotten good grades and exceeded in my studies. I highly recommend her :)
Paul Wilson was my allocated tutor and was absolutely brilliant with me. Provided me with resources, help and advice which enabled me to complete my degree. I would confidently say without the help and support of Paul I would never have completed my degree. He always made time for me and was always on hand to help me whenever I needed it. He always called me on time and was so patient with me. Legend
I’ve had Paul Wilson as my tutor for around a year and he has been a massive help with every essay, helping me structure it and fix anything that was grammatically incorrect. He is easy to talk to and get along with, never had a single issue with him and always looked forward to our sessions. He has helped me a great deal with written work and I believe if it weren’t for the help i would not have passed the course. Highly recommend him, if I could give more stars I would!

Thank you Paul! Paul Wilson has helped me so much this year in university and I am very grateful for him.
Previously I have really struggled getting the right support in education and this has really impacted my confidence. When I met Paul I was apprehensive as I have had many tutors throughout education that have not been very understanding or patient with me, causing anxiety that I now hide. Paul has really helped me to gain my confidence back and reassured me tremendously. I have only been tutored by Paul since September. However, the improvement in not only my work but my mental confidence towards writing tasks has changed and I know this is from the support I have had from Paul.
I have always struggled to put thoughts to paper and when I finally do they never make sense, this previously caused me much anger as I knew I could do it. Paul’s guidance has helped me to clearly express my thoughts onto paper and has improved my outlook into future tasks.
Paul has been very flexible with me always finding the time to help me whether that be in person early morning or on teams until late in the evening, which is greatly appreciated.
When I become overwhelmed with tasks I do become forgetful. Without mentioning this, Paul picked up on this and sent reminders which have been so helpful for me. It’s been the little things as well that have helped me lots. Paul is kind, patient and understanding which is exactly what I needed.
I absolutely love Law but when expressing my dyslexia to university’s I have been advised against a career of “heavy writing”. Paul has absolutely given me the confidence to go on to study further and qualify as a solicitor. Paul has helped me to understand that dyslexia is not a barrier and I can achieve my goals. Without Paul this year I really do not know what I would have done. Thank you Paul, see you in September!!!

Extremely helpful support throughout the academic year. Paul has been my tutor for my first year at Uni. He is very patient and easy to talk to. He has already been mentioned in several reviews, and I can understand why. I am thankful for having him support me next year and to the foundation for their support. :)

Having the support of Paul Wilson throughout my 3 years of uni was tremendously helpful. The flexibility and personalised learning sessions helped me complete my work to the best of my abilities and complete my degree with ease.

Stumbled upon this great organisation and have to say that its run by a very experienced and understanding individual. The level of support and wisdom shared is unlike any other I have experienced from any other Dyslexia Organisation. Steve O'Brien is an example of how much can be achieved in life, if you simply manage to find people like Steve, someone who has a deep and intimate personal understanding of Dyslexia, learning disability and the social and economic impact that an individual struggling with Dyslexia can face. I think Steve should be overseeing , advising on allot of our legal and government mechanisms today for learning disability, I feel he can really help people who are diagnosed or yet to be diagnosed and or have been overlooked and slipped through the system and society in silence.... in a way that people like me with Dyslexia, need to see more often.

I have been using this service for a year now since I have been told that I have dyslexia and it has really helped me with my academic work at university. Sometimes it is hard for me to get out what I want to say putting it on paper, but my tutor Paul Wilson explains things clearly and makes sense of my ideas.
