Avoid!!
Avoid. Paid for a lock that was never fitted, goods arrived damaged, and they blamed us
I would strongly advise anyone shipping to Ghana to avoid E & G (UK) Services Ltd.
We have shipped barrels and boxes to Ghana for years without a single problem. We tried this company once, with a barrel and a box collected on 1 August 2026, and it has been the worst experience we've had.
We were told it would arrive in September. It didn't.
We paid an extra £5 for a lock on our barrel and asked for a photo to prove it had been fitted. We never got one, and the company's own photos later showed why: there was no lock or seal on the barrel at collection or on delivery. We paid for something that was never done.
Our goods arrived damaged. The company's own photos show our box leaving our house square, firm and fully intact, and arriving in Ghana crushed, with the top caved in and the tape torn. Rather than take any responsibility, the owner blamed our packing. It's hard to see how packing explains a box that left in perfect condition and arrived crushed.
We sent photos and videos of the damage straight away. No one told us to keep the items. We then spent weeks chasing, and had to point the owner to his own terms and conditions before he would even agree to look into it. Only then, long after the broken and leaking items had been thrown away, did he ask to send someone to inspect them. In my view, it felt like a way to delay paying rather than a genuine investigation.
Throughout, I found the owner argumentative, dismissive and unwilling to take any accountability. The only thing offered so far is a refund of the £5 for the lock they never fitted.
If your goods are damaged with this company, expect to be blamed and expect a fight. Save yourself the stress and use someone else.
