Received cheese slices covered in mould. Contacted customer service by e-mail on 25 Jan and 3 Feb but have still not received a response. I’m left with no alternative other than to contact trading standards and my payment card issuer for a refund. Very disappointed.

Mouldy
3 orders, all mouldy. Customer service takes weeks to reply. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

My first order came and half of the order was mouldy, the original blue packet, i ordered the mature cheese for the second half of my order.

I ordered again in December 2024 and realised that i hadnt checked to see if they had been using the new bill gates cow fart additive, I emailed them and was ignored, I emailed them again and asked if they used a dairy product with Bovaer in it and if they did could i cancel my order, l eventually got a notification to say my order had been cancelled.

(this review has been edited, im an honest woman and have re read the email and i was wrong, my eyes saw what they did and my brain misinterpreted the reply entirely. I make a full unreserved apology for this harsh judgment i have to admit when i am wrong. However, i stand by my complaint about the box of cheese that was delivered. Its a disgrace!)

Not long after, my order actually arrived. As i unpacked it to empty the box and make it small enough to fit in the recycle bin I noticed one of the packs looked an off colour (I ordered 9 packs of mature in the yellow packet), i opened the pack out of interest and sure enough the pack was completely green and mouldy, then i checked the date and found that this packet was dated 18/10/24.......! I ordered late in december. I checked the other 8 blocks to see that 6 of the 9 packets were all dated 18/10/24 and only 3 had a date in early 2025.

My issue here is .....did they knowingly send out of date cheese for the order i placed (I mean who does quality control) OR was this order sent out with malicious intent because i find 6 mouldy out of date blocks of cheese can not be a mistake.

Clearly when making this cheese more protein rich they have to allow other things like shelf life to slide. After reading some reviews on here the mouldy cheese issue isnt isolated to just me!

What say you Eat Lean??? Did you send the out of date blocks deliberately because i wanted a refund OR are you so incompetent that you send out 6 out of 9 out of date blocks ????? Company should be closed down in my opinion!!!!

I also have photos of the cheese, the mould from both orders and screenshots of ALL communication!!

Had ordered previously without issue, however this time I was massively short delivered, contacted customer services about sending the missing items or processing a refund, had no response. At this point it is just theft.

I love the EatLean products. I’m on a seriously reduced fat diet and desperately miss real cheese - this is a a close as I can get to the real thing. The cheese blocks make a very passable and healthy alternative to cheese sauce

A slight hiccup with a recent order (one missing item) was responded to within 24 hours. Shipping was very quick on the main order, too.

I understand people here have had less positive experiences with customer service and I suspect that’s what drove them to leave a review. I also get that EatLean are not always coping with demand and customer service seems to slip. But so far I think they are doing their best. I’d recommend them, despite the glitches.

Very very good but the cheese slices get stuck together and can't take them off seperately. If they can do plastic between one slice and the other, it would be much better to use. Thanks

Wow! I placed a rather large order yesterday and the items have already arrived today (next day). There’s no issues with the use-by dates, everything has a least 1-2 months on it. I have already tried their blue grated cheese as you can purchase this in supermarkets and it’s great. So I opted for the ‘Tasty’ yellow cheese, smoked cheese and red cheese to try these out. The ‘Tasty’ yellow cheese snack bars are great with a stronger mature flavour which makes for a much lovelier snack. The smoked and red cheese also tastes amazing. I’ll be using the smoked&red cheese blocks to cook some dishes over the coming week to really test them out but from tasting them all- I’m very impressed!

I like my cheese strong
and I already knew that low fat cheese is low in flavour, so I wasn't expecting much from a cheese that has only 10% the fat of Cheddar, but I was pleasantly surprised. Obviously it's not going to compare with a tangy extra mature farmhouse but it's similar in taste to a mild/medium cheddar and has a slightly firmer texture, like a gruyere. That's the blue one... the yellow one is meant to taste more mature and has more fat but there's really not a huge difference in flavour so I'm sticking with the lowest fat. The smoked is delicious if you're into that.
I've seen some people talking about mould... I thought so too until I noticed it was exactly the same colour as the packaging. I assume the dye is not toxic or they wouldn't be allowed to use it in food packaging so I'm not worried, but maybe they could have a look at finding a way to make the dye in the packaging less prone to rubbing off on the food as it might put some people off. I'm not marking it down for that because I only care about the food, which in my opinion is great.

Terrible customer service placed order 1st December finally, tried to resolve direct with them but after 7 emails had to go through PayPal .

5 weeks later finally refunded .

Been a customer for years and now I won’t be buying from site again .

The worst company and service ever
Complete fraud, paid for an order and have been chasing it and a cancellation and refund for 2 weeks now. Zerooooo level treatment ahd customer service.called them multiple times and send several emails and enquiries Never buy from this company ever you will only pay money for getting stressed and never getting your items.

Something unbelievable happened, I bought eatlean grated cheese (blue packaged) and I am a regular customer consuming this product.

There were chunks of mould on the bottom bits of the package which I didn’t notice when I consumed it because obviously I grabbed from the top part. When I noticed it was too late, I can’t describe the abdominal pain, gas, bloating and craps I had during the day I had to rest the entire day because I was feeling very bad.

I have photos and everything as a proof and going to raise a formal complaint about this as it affected my health. Very disappointed as a regular customer.

This isn’t a business, it’s a scam.

I placed an order on 1 December. Still no confirmation of dispatch today, despite my emailing them on 7 and 8 December to chase, and then ask for a refund.

At this point, I think my only option is to dispute the charge at my bank.

Don’t order: you won’t get it.

So annoyed. Ordered on the 24th November and I still haven't got my order. Had one reply to an email saying it would be delivered Friday. But now it is the next week and I am still waiting.

Order took a week to be dispatched and only then after the threat of wanting a refund. I was told my delay was down to it being a seasonal period. I ordered before Black Friday so not sure what seasonal rush they were having but slow dispatch appears to be standard judging by the reviews on here. When they did arrive it's a good thing it's cold weather as one ice brick for a large package isn't adequate. The products however are good and tasty. The crunchy cheese bites are a novel little snack, although the truffle one doesn't taste like it has ever even been in the same postcode as something resembling a truffle.

This cheese is absolutely amazing, I don't miss my old cheddar at all! I never see the full range in the supermarkets so being able to buy direct is great. I often have issues with delivery as I live on an island but I can't fault the customer service. They've refunded a late package, refunded me the difference when I checked out before a coupon was successfully added, and have sent many discounts and offers. Highly recommend this company especially if you don't live on an island. Also the Dr Will's range is excellent and well worth adding to an order.

I ordered over a week ago and was told I'd receive an email confirmation, no email was sent. I had to chase this up a via email and it took them 3 days to respond. Finally received a response after 7 days saying my order has just been shipped with an "apology" very disappointed

Received my order next day, very happy. Great product.

Eat Lean has an absolute market dominance on low fat cheese. No other cheese comes close to how low fat/low cal this is. But the minute one comes on the market I won’t buy from eat lean again. They can’t seem to cope at all with the influx of orders they receive, the past five orders now I’ve had to email asking where my order is only to be sent something along the lines of “sorry a system error occurred we are sending your delivery out today”. How they have let this go on for the years I’ve bought from them with no business plan update is crazy to me. Eat lean can’t still hide behind “we’re a new business getting used to things”. It’s a shame with such a great product that it comes with such bad business planning.

I LOVE CHEESE!.. I’m referred to by my close friends as the Cheese Monster!

With that means balance to stay healthy though. I always thought that you substituted taste for health, on some level.

But with Eat Lean I was most definitely WRONG!!

We’ve tried their standard cheese, and today their mature cheese. Let me be clear NEITHER IS A SUBSTITUTE FOR TASTE!!

The cheese texture is a little more rubbery, more in line with say Edam, than a traditional mature cheddar, but that’s more than OK when the taste is as good as ANY mature cheddars on the market and better than lots!

If I can eat more of this Eat Lean cheese, and get better health outcomes, then it’s a certified winner!!

The cheese also slices, grates, and cooks, just like a normal cheddar does, but tastes even better.

Honestly go and try it.. you won’t be disappointed with the taste and you’ll love the health benefits.

Been a loyal customer for few years , placed a order to be told on a Wednesday will be dispatched, be here for the Friday mu sons birthday, never turned up wasn't even dispatched, still waiting over a week later for order , quick enough to take my money customer service is a joke , looks like you've lost quite a few good customers ,
