Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware!

If you want to avoid a lot of stress then I suggest you avoid this company and shop elsewhere.

In all my 60+ years I have never encountered a company as shocking and as distressingly awful to deal with as this: Customer service is woeful with a total disregard for upholding consumer law; I have ultimately had to resort to taking them to court to get what I am owed.

This is not some large faceless company. As far as I have been able to determine there only seems to be one day-to-day management person, the managing director of Charged Bikes Ltd., Reece Larkin, an individual who has proven evasive and difficult to communicate with.

I bought a £2K ebike online from this company. I mainly chose them because they are fairly close and I like to support the local economy when I can. In hindsight this was very bad rationale. They said they could deliver by local delivery withing a few days, which they did… Within an hour of delivery, having carefully inspecting the bike, I noticed that part of the bike was damaged and another part was missing. I also found that the manual provided with the bike was only in a foreign language. I immediately contacted them providing photographic evidence. They acknowledge the issues and even apologised but apportioned blame with the suppliers and, over the next few days, seemed reluctant to quickly resolve the issues or indeed provide any details of how they were going to do so. Meanwhile I did not use the defective bike. After a few days, and having given the issue considerable thought, including asking myself how could they not have noticed and known about the defects prior to delivery, I decided to refuse the bike and requested a refund as per my rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2105. The nightmare continued: Firstly they ignored me. Then they said that they would allow a refund provided I returned the bike at my cost and I agreed to a £400 restocking fee! That is completely unlawful! Following further delaying tactics by them, I have sadly had to resort to making a county court claim.

Still not recieved my headset bearings.

Still not recieved my headset bearings.
I bought these on the 21st of May,listed as in stock on the online shop.after 1 week of hearing nothing I messaged them only to be told they are on order from haibike Germany.
I waited a further 2 weeks,3 weeks in total and got no reply so I decided to leave negative feedback 2 days later and instantly got a reply accusing me of slander and that he would cancel my order and refund but I declined and said I want my bearings I have paid for.
I told him how petty he was being and my feedback was true and not slander.
I explained that I used the ebike to commute to work and back as I was discharged from the military after several operations on my legs and find a normal bike difficult.
I was told it was Brexits fault for delaying overseas shipments.
I explained how I recently ordered watch parts from Moscow and they arrived within 3 weeks via Turkey.
I have still not recieved an apology for the delay,the inconvenience and the 4 weeks of travel costs I have had to pay.
I explained how much I need these bearings and said I would remove the negative feedback if my bearings could be sorted asap.
This was ignored,my olive branch snapped in half.
The possible arrival date for the bearings was 5 weeks after order placed.
I would describe the person I messaged as arrogant and petty to say the least and will not use their services again.
Feedback exists so people can learn from your experiences,good or bad.
If only you had said sorry.

Great products!

Reece was very helpful and informative with helping me choose the right product based on my requirements. No questions was too little or too big. Always there at first point of call for any queries or questions I may have. Too often the after care service is poor, however Reece is someone who holds his business and aftercare in high regards. Thanks for everything!

Order

Battery had status “backorder”. Rang the shop and asked if there are any in stock, owner said yes and been told that he will change status. He changed and raised price by 50£.

Sorry to read that you are unhappy with our pricing. You are correct, we did make an error and the prices should have been increased at the beginning of this month, for this reason we are happy to supply you at the old price.

Further to our conversation, I have been asked by Wisper to ask for frame serial number before I supply batteries. This is due to the number of eBikes that are being stolen often without these parts. Wisper keep a record of all reported stolen bike frame numbers and check for stolen bikes prior to suppling chargers or batteries. As long as you are now willing to pass me that information we can get a battery out to you today.

100% WASTE OF TIME.

I will try and keep this short as possible,because this was a two week nightmare for a £4.99 order that fitted into a small Jiffy bag.
Reece is hard work to contact, in fact i called him once he answered, great i thought always a positive thing to talk to someone. After that he wouldn’t answer, in fact I’m sure he blocked my number because it wouldn’t even ring? Anyway after two weeks I received a “ROYAL MAIL notice that more postage needs to be paid” so in fact the already expensive postage ended up costing me £6.50 + £4.99 for part. He did answer a couple of emails bluntly, and displayed an invoice that had no reference to my order, asked him about this and of course was ignored. This company may be ok with larger orders i should imagine because obviously more money is involved?. BUT IF YOUR BUYING SMALLER ORDERS I DEFINITELY WOULD THINK TWICE, AN ABSOLUTE DIABOLICAL SERVICE.In response to your reply,not once did I threaten you in anyway, and all my emails to you I have saved. I did mention trading standards and that’s who I’m contacting next, I don’t see the need to lie your just making yourself look foolish! Have a nice day. John.

Hi John thank you for the review item was sent out the next day the same as most of our parcels all with the same postage

Never once did you call I only ever received an email from you threatening that you were gonna finish me and slander me over trust pilot and trading standards

Maybe if you emailed or called saying there was an issue with applied postage we could have resolved it

Awesome service from Reece in bury he…

Awesome service from Reece in bury he did everything in his power to make sure I had my new bike for the bank holiday weekend and great customer service especially in the current climate for cycling when a lot of shops don't bother anymore because of the demand
