Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 38 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant issues with product quality and durability, frequently citing shoe soles disintegrating or inferior materials after minimal use, leading to poor value given the high price point. Some also experienced problems with online orders, such as incorrect items or inconsistent sizing. A number of people were dissatisfied with customer service, noting a lack of responsiveness or perceived disinterest in addressing product concerns. Specific product flaws were also mentioned, including golf shoes not being water-repellent, uncomfortable insoles, or issues with fit. However, some long-term customers expressed satisfaction with past product comfort and quality, and a few highlighted positive in-store customer service.

Terrible Customer Service!

I was given a pair of Ecco Shoes for my birthday in December 2021. I was really pleased with them, but in January 2022 I discovered that the sole had a split in it. I took it to my local shoe repair man, and he said there is no way that it could be mended. He suggested that I contact Ecco Customer Service and explain what had happened. The Customer Service team contacted me a month later, and told me to cut the tongues out of the pair of shoes, and send them a photo. They would then send me a voucher code for £115 off a new pair of shoes. I did exactly that, but I have had no reply from them, or to any of my emails since that time. It is now July 2022, and I have sent several reminders. I think this is shocking customer service. I am very disappointed both with Ecco Shoes and with Ecco Customer Service.

Worst Mail Order

This is without doubt the worst mail order service i have ever encountered. A month of waiting for non delivery. Long waits for replies to emails. After 6 weeks they have finally relented and offered a refund. - so long as i sign a disclaimer absolving them of responsibility.

S Three Golf Shoes

S Three Golf Shoes. Magnet colourway.
Two pairs returned to vendor due to the colour coming off the toecap. I have an old white pair from 2013 which have lost no at all. Over diluting the dye to save money?

NO HALF SIZES !!!

NO HALF SIZES !!!

I like Ecco, but no half sizes is ridiculous considering how much they charge and every other brand of trainers I've ever owned has come in half sizes. I wrote to them and the reply was I can size down and remove the removable insole, but the insole adds comfort, I just want my size. Charging £90.00 for runners, you should be able to get your perfect fit. Also, they cut their trainers narrow around the toes. Nice styles though but they need to offer half sizes not offer 5.5/6 etc. I was between sizes,, so had to purchase the size up and now they are lose around my ankle, disappointed I spent so much and they aren't a good fit.

Horrible Quality

I have just had to throw away my third pair of ecco footwear because in each case the soles fell apart.
These are not cheap to buy and I implore you never to waste your money buying this expensive rubbish.
I have been buying their shoes for many years and can only assume that greed for profit has overtaken customer care.

dreadful

terrible quality, poor service, very upset by most recent developments, worked out have wasted £280 buying stuff from this company, either the soles fell to bits and we were never advised of hydrolysis. last 2 pairs dreadful, i kept one and returned the one that had a fault, they 'tested' and deemed them ok, rubbish!
sent them an angry email and will never spend money with them again, not even for insoles... shame as been loyal customer for over 20 years, maybe 30 thinking about it.
i feel sorry for anyone nice working for them, they must be inundated with complaints? used to be such a good company with decent products imho and sad to see it go downhill as it has...

don’t buy red soft classic trainers

Love Ecco shoes but don’t buy these soft trainers2.0 in red. You will be so dissatisfied as colour runs when damp or if worn in the rain. They leave your feet red and the dye is not easily removed. Washed in washing machine on low heat the water was bright red and dye still running out when drying naturally outside. Very disappointing do not buy these trainers below standard and not fit for purpose.

I’ve bought half insoles and it still not been delivered since the date that was due… their courier Called EVRI is totally useless they keep sending me emails every day informing me that it will be delivered and they don’t I’ve called Ecco shoes and they said they can’t do much they just keep asking to confirme the delivery address and that they will confirm it with couriers. But this is not enough…

Two pairs suffered from heel collapse

Very comfortable shoes that I wore in deserts and dry climates as soft leather was cool albeit not waterproof. Got them out of wardrobe to find heel sole had crumbled. This is my second pair to do this. First heel collapsed on holiday in Kenya in 2013. Replacement did exactly the same. I contacted customer service and got a cut and paste explanation about hydrolysis and blamed me for putting away damp. Dry climate shoes so unlikely, but clearly a common problem for the impersonal response. I have older leather boots by Merrell and Brasher which don't have this problem, sole still going strong 28 years+ so no customer service I don't think I do have confidence to buy more at £120 a time.

Issue with returning faulty shoes

Bought some slip on trainers - some issues with one of the shoes - returned straight away. Sent back and collected by Hermes on the 28th March and still shown in transit - apparently they are on their way back to Poland but no way to see where they are in the system! So buyer beware folks!

This is a truthful and genuine review…

This is a truthful and genuine review from a genuine purchaser.
I bought a pair of dress shoes- expensive. Worn very occasionally, no more than 15 times prior to this occurrence. I wore the shoes to a wedding over the weekend, I had polished them before leaving and they were fine. At the ceremony I noticed something odd and discovered both heels and sole of the shoes had disintegrated, literally fell to pieces, ( I have photos). I have to go and buy new shoes in a nearby shop. I contacted Echo on return and was dismissed- these shoes do this apparently, they fall asunder if you dont wear them "regularly" - whatever that means. I asked why this was not on a label or brought to my attention as a potential problem- shoulder shrug- too bad. |
So; unless you intend to guess what "regularly" means I would strongly suggest buying a decent brand shoe.

Dreadful experience. Wish I had never bought them.

I returned a pair of shoes via Hermes tracked on 1 March 2022 and 5 weeks later I am still trying to get someone to reply to my messages as to whether they have received them and when I will get my refund. The Hermes tracking initially worked as I checked it every day, but now it says they require a 16 digit reference when all they gave me was 1 letter and 7 numbers. Ecco have ignored all my messages, sent via their website and by email. For a company that has always provided me with excellent shoes they are now demonstrating an appalling level of customer service. Not happy at all.

Sole fell off

I bought a pair of shoes two months go and the sole has already come off after light use. I have contacted customer service several times and just been ignored, my only thought is that their CS has been overwhelmed by all the complaints about having blood on their hands.
