I ordered some biltong from the ethicalcommunity website from a firm called van der merwe. Nothing has arrived, no e-mails have been answered from either ethicalcommunity.com or vandermerwebiltong.com. I know it was only £29.50 but surely that's not the point. Never again.

Needs better merchandising
I've been looking for something like this for a while. Found some good stuff on there, but the merchandising needs to be better. Much of it could be using stronger guidelines for the shops on how to photograph (eg always against white). But crowdsourcing the most popular items would be interesting too.

complete waste of my time
I spent ages comparing organic compost from different suppliers taking special care when working out when i could expect to take delivery.
I made my purchase, then a few days later I received a paypal refund with no explanation about why.
I contacted them to find out what's going on, and had nothing in response.
I had to go somewhere else which means I will miss the delivery date I needed to get everything done this weekend.

Great products, great service
Was looking for Coffee soap for the kitchen and found the Tanjero soap store via a google search. The prices were reasonable for handmade soap in the scent that I wanted. Upon ordering the soap was shipped quickly and it's good quality. I even received a small refund for having paid too much for shipping.
I will be buying more soap when this runs out and looking around more on the site for other things that I may want or need. Very pleased.

Very bad, product not provided but money taken - beware!!
Paid for product (box of lip salves) and waited - after chasing several times, eventually advised product not available even though funds taken ! Also following registration on ethical website starting getting a stream of communication that was clearly just junk mail (not ethical) and also offers of services that were definitely not ethical and of a sexual nature. Will never try to shop there/ via site again. Avoid at all costs.
