Dishonest and UnTrustworthy Company - Avoid

Purchased an X8 Omni Pro. £1k of kit. Worked for just over 30 days and has failed. Warranty is 30 days to get your money back, then it is a repair. Repairs can take weeks and weeks. Dishonest and untrustworthy company, supplying cheap junk, and ripping you off for it

it is also of note, that negative feedback submitted against the product on their website, when you have clearly stated that the products are faulty and dont last, this doesnt actually get put on. So their website reviews cant be counted on as honest either!

Avoid - there is better more reputable companies on the market

Don't do it

Customer Service is Terrible. 4 months my vaccum was out of service, 3x sent for repair, they ended up sending me a refurbished device that didn't work and now I am on a second refurbished device that has issues but at least three quarters of my house floors is clean now, although the vaccum takes about 6hrs to complete 140m2 area as battery drains and it seems to go in a random order that makes zero sense at all, it ignores the no go zones and seems to get stuck under a chair once every 3 days or so. On the positive side customer service gave me 1 free month warranty, after it didn't work for 4 months 🤔 I will never ever recommend a ecovac again, have been through quite a few over the years but unless the place you brought it from has an excellent repair process, dont rely on ecovacs customer service

Dont buy

employees during the scheduled installation/demo of my ECOVACS robotic vacuum cleaner. I paid good money for both the product and the promised personalized digital demonstration, and the service I received was unacceptable.

The employee who arrived at my home immediately raised an issue with my dog, stating a "dog phobia," and then proceeded to spend approximately 10 minutes with the colony guard while dogs were simply passing by. This delay and apparent discomfort were disruptive, and I suspect the behavior was an act to avoid completing the work.

I understand that work norms have shifted, but genuine work ethic and commitment remain essential for any company's success. Your employee's behavior—if not genuine—comes across as an easy way to cut off work, leading to an unresolved issue for me, the paying customer. After spending money on your product, I still do not have a complete or satisfactory resolution.

My concerns are twofold:

Lack of Professionalism and Dedication: The observed behavior shows a severe lack of dedication to the job. As a customer, I see the effort and hard work required to build a global company like ECOVACS. This type of attitude by a field employee directly tarnishes that image and suggests a lack of understanding or respect for dedicated work. The idea of a "vertical demo" being offered instead of an in-person, personalized setup is not an acceptable solution, especially when the issue arose from the employee's reluctance to complete the on-site service.

HR and Recruitment Issues: I question the recruitment process for field representatives who are required to enter customers' homes. A company needs an excellent HR team to screen for candidates who possess the necessary social skills, emotional resilience, and professional ability to work in varied home environments, including those with pets. With so many highly educated and unemployed individuals in India, it is baffling how such a person was hired and supported by the local team (specifically the Indore team, if applicable) for such an apparent lack of willingness to work.

This experience has severely affected my perception of the company. Such a lack of professionalism will likely lead to me not considering an ECOVACS product for a second purchase, and I will share my experience to make others aware of the service issues.

I demand an immediate investigation into this incident and the behavior of the employee involved. I expect a prompt and satisfactory resolution to my product setup and demo issue, scheduled with a competent and professional representative.

Please provide a clear plan of action and a timeline for resolution.

Product not Indian compliant.

I received my Ecovacs Deebot Mini yesterday, and while the product looks great in terms of design and build, I haven’t even been able to switch it on yet. The docking station cable provided is not Indian compliant, which means I can’t plug it in or even start the product right out of the box.

It’s honestly unacceptable that a product being sold in India doesn’t come with an Indian-compatible plug. I expected better from a reputed brand like Ecovacs. I contacted customer care twice, hoping for a proper resolution, but both times I received the same disappointing response — that I should purchase a 15–16 amp converter on my own. That’s simply not fair. Why should customers be expected to go out and find a compatible converter when the product itself should have been ready for use in the first place?

I also have no guarantee that the converter I buy from a local store will meet the right safety or performance standards for this device. This is clearly a product fault and not a customer responsibility. Ecovacs could have easily included an Indian-compliant cable or at least provided an appropriate converter in the box to maintain trust and convenience for their customers.

Right now, I have an expensive product sitting idle because I can’t even power it on — that’s how poorly this has been handled. It gives the impression that this product was not truly built for the Indian market, which is quite disappointing and frustrating.

I sincerely request someone from the Ecovacs team to look into this matter urgently and provide me with a proper resolution — ideally by sending an Indian-compatible plug or converter that meets the product’s standards. Please get back to me at the earliest, as this entire experience has been extremely disappointing so far.

ECOVAC DEEBOT X1 OMNI

ECOVAC DEEBOT X1 OMNI. Costs $2,000 AUD. Works 50% of the time for the first year, then stops working after that. Even during the first year, 50% of the time it just spins in circles, or doesn't mop, or stops in the middle somewhere. Now it doesn't even empty the dust bin. The customer service center is no help, they even sent the Deebot back with missing parts and dirty. Never buy an Ecovac product.

Faulty Product, Refused Refund — Avoid This Brand

I’ve had nothing but problems with my Deebot X Series. The battery drains rapidly, it stops mid-clean with charging errors, and constantly reports “tangled” mop pads when nothing is wrong.

Ecovacs have repaired it multiple times, yet the same issues keep happening. They refuse to offer a full refund or a brand-new replacement, only a partial refund despite clear evidence the unit is not fit for purpose.

Their customer service is painfully slow and unhelpful. I’m now escalating this through the Ombudsman. For such an expensive product, the quality and aftercare are disgraceful.

Breach of Consumer Rights Act

We sent our Deebot Combi in for warranty repair after the base unit developed a leak. This was the second time the unit had been in for repair, and as the previous fault had been sorted relatively quickly, we were hopeful that all would be well.

After sending the unit back as requested, and waiting almost 2 weeks without any update, I began to chase. Eventually we were told that the unit couldn't be repaired, and that they would provide a replacement. Noting that the Combi model which comes with a handheld vacuum had since been discontinued, I was interested to see what they would offer. After another week, I chased to get an update, only to be told that they were STILL awaiting approval for a replacement to be sent from Germany. This approval continued to be outstanding for another week, and after repeatedly chasing, I asked the agent on the phone if the issue was that they no longer produced that model? She told me that if that model was no longer available, they would send me an upgraded version. Knowing that they no longer have a model in the range which comes with a handheld vacuum, I asked how they intended to do that, as functionally, none of their current models compared. She scoffed down the phone as said that the robot units were considerably better than my previous one, and that it would definitely be an upgrade.

I began documenting the correspondence, and expressed the fact that I didn't want one of their "upgraded" units if it didn't come with the same functionality as my previous purchase, and that they should just consider providing me with a full refund. Eventually I got an email from an agent called Tom, who confirmed that none of their current models would compare, and that they would issue me a refund. I provided bank details, which 48 hours later he claimed were incorrect. I resupplied the bank details which 24 hours later he confirmed were ok and that a refund had been issued, and would appear in our account within 10 banking days. 10 days passed, and no refund appeared. I provided them with a clear email stating that as I was now more than 6 weeks without my unit and that they had breached the consumer rights regulations, they now needed to provide the refund and £500 compensation, within 48hours. This period also came and went, with only an automated email confirming they had received my request.

I have now issued a Letter before Claim and intend to take the matter to court if it is not settled within 14 days.

Terrible customer service, annoyingly nice product, when it works. There is no excuse for businesses like this not keeping up their end of the bargain when it comes to warranty claims.

Customer service is horrible.

Customer service is horrible.
I sent my robot in for repair and waited a month. When I asked for an update, they suddenly sent me a bill and returned the robot. To my surprise, it hadn’t been repaired. After further inquiry, I was told it couldn’t be fixed—and the bill was only for the inspection.

There was never any clear communication about why it wasn’t repairable or what had happened. Absolutely terrible service.

Do not buy from this brand. On top of everything, the robot malfunctions frequently, and the map function often has to be reset or deleted.

I bought an N8 and an N9 a few weeks…

I bought an N8 and an N9 a few weeks ago second hand. I’d heard mixed reviews about robot vacuum cleaners so I was reluctant to pay a lot of money until I’d experienced them myself. All I can say is wow, they have surpassed my expectations. I have stone floors and two dogs are these work really well to collect Dog hairs crumbs and dust on the daily basis. The app you download control the cleaners is perfect, it allows me to have one cleaner in my main house and one in my holiday home and controlled them from the same app. The app allows for scheduling cleans on a recurring basis or to start a clean when you’re not even at that property. The tank doesn’t hold loads, but is adequate for three or four cleans before it needs tipping in the waste bin. I definitely recommend these cleaners, and should one of these secondhand ones break I will immediately replace with a new version of the same make. Ps I have only used the mopping function a couple of times, I would describe it as a light dust mop over, not a full clean.

Awful Ecovac robot vacuums

Ecovac robot vacuums - don’t believe the hype on their advertisements. I’ve had issues from the start and the Ecovac support (all via email) is dreadful.

I’ve raised concerns with ecovac regarding a t30 omni that needs stripping and cleaning after every clean it does. I have a husky which sheds air but not loads. Even though The majority of the hair is avoided by the t30 omni’s sensitive radar however was it does go over gets clogged in it’s rubbish tanglefree roller

What do you think of the below magical reply comment?

I literally have to strip the vacuum after every clean! It’s been returned 3 times already.

Dear,

Thank you for reaching out. We are deeply sorry for the issue you are facing with your Deebot.

Pet-Friendly Features Zero Tangle™ Technology: The brush is designed to prevent pet hair from getting tangled, reducing maintenance and keeping the brush clear. Powerful Suction: The high suction power is effective at removing pet hair from various floor types, including carpets and uneven surfaces. Adaptive Edge Mopping: The rotating mopping pads automatically clean along edges and baseboards, ensuring corners and baseboards are fur-free. AI Obstacle Avoidance: Advanced sensors and AI can recognize and safely navigate around pet-related items like food bowls and litter boxes. Auto Mop Lifting: The mop automatically lifts 9mm when it detects carpet, preventing the carpet from getting wet.

How It Helps Pet Owners Hands-Free Cleaning: The OMNI station takes care of emptying the dirt bin, washing the mops, and drying them, reducing manual effort for pet owners. Less Maintenance: The Zero Tangle feature means less time spent manually cleaning pet hair from the robot's brush. Customized Cleaning: The robot's AI can adapt cleaning strategies to work around pets and their belongings, ensuring a safe and clean environment for everyone. Peace of Mind: The ability to monitor and control the robot remotely offers a convenient way to maintain a clean home without disturbing pets. So after all this information, it will not be magical that it will clean itself from pet hair forever, and the owner will not need to be involved in cleaning and regularly taking care of the device. This is something impossible to achieve, especially if your pets are spreading hair everywhere all day long.

Deebot T9 - Australia

I really wanted to love the Deebot T9, but unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. I purchased it brand new in December 2023, and within just 9 months it began showing an anti-drop sensor malfunction.

Since then, I’ve had to send it away for repair twice. Each time the same fault reappeared only a few months later. The process of getting approval, shipping it back, waiting for the service centre, and then waiting for its return means I was without a robot vacuum for 1–2 months each time. Realistically, since purchase I’ve only had a working robot for a fraction of the time.

While it works, it does a good job. But a robot vacuum is supposed to make life easier, not cause constant frustration and downtime. For me, this has proven to be a faulty product from the beginning, and despite repeated contact with support, I’ve had no lasting solution.

I cannot recommend this product.

I purchased a brand new Ecovacs Deebot…

I purchased a brand new Ecovacs Deebot Omni X5 from The Good Guys about 7 months ago. Unfortunately, the unit developed a fault and I had to send it to Ecovacs warranty repair. My parcel was delivered to their service centre on 4th August.

Since then, it has been nearly two months with no clear repair date. Ecovacs has told me they cannot source the required part, but instead of offering a timely solution, they have refused to provide a refund or a replacement unit.

This has left me without the product I paid for, despite it being under warranty. The lack of transparency, communication, and refusal to provide a fair remedy is unacceptable.

Under Australian Consumer Law, customers are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund within a reasonable timeframe. Ecovacs has failed to honour this. I strongly caution others about relying on their warranty service.
