This was one of the most frustrating car rental experiences we have ever had.

We made our booking online, and at no point during the booking process was it clearly explained that the reservation had to be made in the name of the main driver. My husband was always intended to be the driver, and we both arrived at the desk with all required documentation, including his valid international driver’s licence.

Despite this, the staff refused to amend the booking name or assist us with a simple administrative change. Instead, we were told to contact customer support ourselves. As international travellers without phone access, we explained that we only had mobile data and were directed to use live chat.

The live chat team repeatedly attempted to contact the airport desk, but the staff claimed they were not receiving any calls. We were left stuck between the desk and customer support, with neither side resolving the issue.

The most disappointing part was the attitude of the staff, particularly Isabella and her colleague. They were dismissive, unhelpful, and showed no willingness to find a solution. We were so distressed by the situation that I ended up in tears, yet they still refused to offer even basic assistance, including allowing us to briefly use a phone to contact support.

Thankfully, an employee from another rental company witnessed what was happening and kindly allowed us to use their phone. Without their help, we would have had no way of resolving the situation. We ultimately rented from that company instead because they demonstrated the professionalism and customer service we expected.

To make matters worse, we were charged a cancellation fee despite the fact that we never wanted to cancel — we simply needed assistance correcting the booking details.

This experience could have been resolved within minutes with reasonable customer service. Instead, we were left feeling completely unsupported and treated unfairly.

We strongly recommend reviewing your airport staff training and your booking process, as customers should not be penalised for a requirement that is not clearly communicated and then receive no assistance when trying to resolve it.

Good and new car, nice staff at car drop off. Only disappointment was the fact that we were informed about the missing childseat (as reserved) half an hour before we left for the airport back home.
We did manage to arrange something else, but it was stressfull.

All went quick and with no problems. Car was fine. I recommend Ecovia!!! Thanks.

Clean and new car, everything went great from checking the car until returning

Rented an SUV. Car was almost brand new. Drove great. The only slight annoyance was that the pickup point (after attending the desk in the terminal) was quite hard to find. But everything else about the booking and car was brilliant!

Everything was ok except that i booked a fiat 500 which was very important for me and i got another car.
For a roadtrip in Italy with pictures this is not acceptable

Easy fulfilment - fair price - friendly staff ... gladly again

Front desk very easy to locate upon landing and easy to reach drop off location.
I did not appreciate it took 10 days to get my 500 euros back, only after contacting Ecovia via email.
Also, though I purchased online a full insurance, at the desk I was told that is not valid and they proposed I should get one for over 300 Euros.

Everything was superlative, starting with the pick-up of the car, which lasted a maximum of 5' and ending with the handover. Although I had opted for a small car with manual transmission, I received a car with automatic transmission, brand new and much larger. Definitely in the future it will be my company no. 1.

Nice vehicle, almost new. Fast check in and check out at return. Location very difficult to find as there are no signs or indications of the name Autovia or Ecovia. We had to ask other competitors how to get there.
