We went to India on a bespoke Quilting and Textile holiday. ECT did a fantastic job organising a wonderful itinerary that included separate excursions for our husbands when my friend and I were out sewing.
The hotels and local arrangements were excellent and we had some of the best guides we have ever had on holiday.
Keukenhof Tour – April 2025
The highlights of this tour for us were the visit to Keukenhof itself, the Bollenstreek Flower Parade and the Amsterdam canal cruise, all amazing experiences and much enjoyed and well organized by ECT.
The downside of the tour was the hotel. According to the tour information sheet, the hotel apparently boasts “fantastic views” across the Hague. Not for our group, however. We were all in standard rooms and would have had to pay for an upgrade to enjoy this fantastic scenic view, a choice of which we were not informed and which was not offered. Our room on the 17th floor was gloomy and looked on to the concrete building next door. The room was “tired” although the bedding and towels were fresh and clean and the beds were comfortable.
The tour cost included an evening meal in the in-house restaurant on our first day and breakfast on days two, three and four. The evening meal was good, as was the buffet breakfast on day two. On days three and four we effectively had no breakfast. Too many guests descended on the restaurant at the same time; it was total chaos with everyone fighting for a table and for food. What a shambles! Surely breakfast time slots could have been enforced!
