My helper

My helper, Sami Atta, was incredibly patient and took me through every step of a complex process, which ended up taking about 30 minutes. Not once did he show any signs of impatience and just kept on encouraging me to take my time, so to avoid making any mistakes. An absolutely wonderful customer experience, thank you Sami.

We booked two flights through eDreams…



We booked two flights through eDreams for two passengers: Eduardo Valech and Josefina Melero, each with their correct personal details and dates of birth. However, eDreams issued the tickets incorrectly: instead of registering both passengers separately, the system assigned Josefina Melero's date of birth to the name "Eduardo Valech Jr.", creating a non-existent passenger. There is no logical explanation for this other than a system error on eDreams' part — no customer would deliberately book two tickets on the same flight under the same name.
As a result, we were stopped at the airport and forced to pay a name correction fee to Ryanair before being allowed to board. Airport staff confirmed to us that this type of issue is common among eDreams customers, which strongly suggests a recurring and known problem with their platform.
To make matters worse, we are active eDreams Prime members. We expected this membership to guarantee a higher standard of customer service and support. It has been of absolutely no help in resolving this situation — a complete waste of money on top of everything else.
When we contacted eDreams to request reimbursement, they refused to take responsibility and — incredibly — asked us to provide screenshots of the booking process as proof. No reasonable company asks customers to document every step of an online purchase in real time. This felt like a deliberate strategy to exhaust us into dropping the complaint rather than a genuine attempt to resolve it.
We have submitted a formal complaint with full supporting evidence and will be escalating this to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Dublin and the European Online Dispute Resolution platform if the matter is not resolved.
Avoid eDreams at all costs — and think twice before paying for their Prime membership. Their customer service is designed to protect the company, not the customer.

Prime membership

Decided to cancel this membership as I would not be able to fully utilise. The agent, Sudipto, explained options to try to encourage me to stay. Although I did not take him up on the offers he was very helpful, very polite and not pushy and I really appreciated his help. 10 out of 10 for customer service.
