Unfortunately very poor all round

I was hoping that when my pieces arrived I'd love them so much that the long wait and poor communication would be a distant memory, but unfortunately not.
I waited over 2 years to receive the flowers from my wedding; well beyond the time originally quoted. The pieces are really lacking. I provided a large selection of flowers yet my (small) piece is sparse, with poorly colour corrected flowers and some flowers facing the opposite way. I was given an extra piece to compensate for the delay, but this was badly finished with a cloudy resin.
I know Lorna has had several health issues, and I really sympathise with her, but this was so far below a professional standard and nothing like the pieces advertised. It was a bitter disappointment after looking forward to this for so long.

Will I ever see my flowers again?

Unfortunately I have been waiting nearly 2 years for the return of my wedding flowers. I understand Lorna has had health complications and has subsequently closed down the business to new orders, but whenever I email Lorna (once every couple of months) for an update on my order I never get a response. I’m a very understanding person and I do feel very aware of and upset for the personal problems Lorna is going through which have caused the closure of the business, but I don’t feel this excuses a lack of response to customers by email. I wonder whether I will ever get my flowers back and at this point, if I don’t get them back or a response, how I get the large amount of money back that I paid in 2023?

Update: it has now been 2 years since my wedding. While I am understanding, I finally had a response from Lorna in August 2025 that my order was ready to be sent but she was waiting for a delivery of packing materials. It has been a further month since Lorna advised that she was waiting for the packing material and I have not received an update. I sent an email chaser a week ago but still haven’t a response. I really recognise Lorna has experienced health problems which has significantly affected her capacity to complete orders at the rate she would have wanted, and for the business to be closed down. However, I find it unacceptable to not update customers on orders. We spent a considerable amount of money on this preservation and at this point I feel genuinely concerned that we have lost this money and will never get the flowers back. It is all a very sad ending to my wedding which was a lovely day.

Update 2: My flowers finally arrived after receiving tracking that didn’t update for a few days. The new admin that Lorna has put in place was much better as the email I sent asking whether they could help identify where the parcel was was responded to within 48 hours which I really appreciated. The final piece with my flowers in is absolutely beautiful and I am really pleased with it after such a long time. They look so perfect and just how I remembered the flowers from my day - thanks so much for that Lorna, I will treasure it. However, I do think that the admin side of the business has been really poor. All I would have appreciated is regular updates and responses to emails as it was worrying given we had paid nearly £400 upfront for the item and then left wondering whether we’d ever see it again. I hope that whatever Lorna ends up doing after this business is successful as she is clearly a talented craftsman with a kind heart, and I also hope the ramifications of this resin pouring aren’t of a long term impact to her health.

Fantastic job!

Lorna did such a fantastic job of preserving my wedding flowers! Each piece has been well made and they are now well-loved. :) I had my wedding bouquet preserved, as well as other wedding flowers that were made into coasters to give as gifts.
The wait time was longer than initially expected, but I didn't mind as I would rather have it done properly than rushed. I appreciated the monthly updates in the newsletter, which explained the stage my flowers were at, so I didn't feel in the dark about the delay. The whole process was very easy and any correspondence was replied to promptly.

Do not entrust your flowers with this…

Do not entrust your flowers with this company/person.

My tea light holder for my flowers from May 2023 was supposedly being sent week 26th May 2025. It's now the end of June and complete radio silence despite chasers. It's extremely upsetting especially as my mother in law has passed away from cancer in the meantime and never got to see them

22 month wait

I sent my flowers to Lorna in August 2023 and only just received my finished product last week despite paying in full in 2024. An incredibly long wait with minimal communication and reliance on the monthly newsletters for any updates which seemed to stop last winter. There were several excuses made along the way and at one stage I doubted I would ever see my flowers again. The final product I received is unfortunately disappointing; the coasters are gigantic and sparse with few flowers in them and the finish on some of the pieces is not perfect. I would not recommend Elderflower and Fern.

18 months, very poor quality

After 18 months, I have finally received my items and I am very disappointed. The quality of product is very poor and is far from the professional standards expected for the price. The flowers which still have petals on them have been 'colour corrected' with zero skill or attention to detail. The top coat on two items is hazy so it's hard to see the flowers inside. The other resin which is clear has fingerprints and hairs imbedded in it. This is after 18 months of being continually lied to about timeframes, when I would receive my designs, when they would be completed etc. I did not receive designs for my items until 14 months after my wedding (it does not take 14 months to dry flowers). Do not trust this company with your wedding flowers, its not worth the heartbreak.

Beautiful preservations

I’ve just received my preserved wedding bouquet and I am thrilled at the result. The preservations have turned out beautifully and you can see how much effort and care Lorna puts into each individual piece. It is definitely worth the wait, especially as we now have a physical piece of our wedding flowers to keep forever!

I also appreciated the regular updates provided throughout the whole process, it is a nice touch.

Brilliant experience

I could not be happier with Lorna’s work on preserving my wedding flowers. From the minute I ordered/sent off my flowers to her, the experience has been wonderful with regular monthly updates and clear messaging on where my flowers were at in the process of being preserved. The final product is everything I could have hoped for and more, and I couldn’t be more grateful to Lorna for her work and effort in creating them. I will be recommending to friends of mine getting married in future and would highly recommend to anyone else looking to get their wedding flowers preserved! A massive thank you to Lorna for everything!

Elderflower & Fern is the BEST

Lorna,is a brilliant craftswoman. What she does with such important and delicate flowers is no short of remarkable. We were so happy with the end result. We always felt that our flowers were safe from the day they arrived at Elderflower & Fern.
Thank you so much,definitely will recommend and if we ever want to save other flowers there is only one business we will trust.

Lovely product but took 15 months!!

Lovely product of high quality and very happy with what I’ve received but the star rating review is down to the wait time and customer service. Waiting 15 months for an order is simply unacceptable! When I booked and paid the money up front I was told this would be 6 months max which I thought was a while but didn’t mind waiting, but in the end i didn’t even get this back for my first wedding anniversary. Not sure if Lorna has taken too many orders on but she should make sure she could turn these around in the times promised before taking on other orders as I wouldn’t have gone ahead if I’d have known. Like I said the work she does is lovely and simply can’t fault that but I think the turnaround time needs attention as I can imagine there will be other unhappy and annoyed customers like myself in the future and it makes the business look unprofessional.

Life saver

An absolute life saver; they were able to take our flowers 2 days after our wedding despite no reservation from ourselves prior. Really responsive and looking forward to the end result!

Wedding flowers

I sent my wedding flowers to be preserved, and the end products are simply stunning! Lorna was responsive and lovely from the first email. The website and the Instagram page were great sources of inspiration, so picking the forms I wanted was nice and easy. I ended up choosing a hexagon, heart, and ring holder. They all turned out gorgeous! Lorna was great at keeping me posted via her monthly customer newsletters which went into details of which month she is working on. I must note that flower preservation is a long process due to the drying, colour correction, actual resin pouring and probably a billion other time-consuming things which need to be done so you get the best product. However, if you want to have it done by someone talanted who cares endlessly to do a good job for you - reach out to Lorna!

Took over a YEAR for the order to…

Took over a YEAR for the order to arrive! I chased repeatedly as my frustration increased, and was told I needed to read the lengthy emails to work out when she would be getting around to working on my order! No straight answers throughout. The order was only for 2 tealight holders containing funeral flowers. Over a year later the moment to gift these as a comfort whilst grieving has been lost. When they eventually arrived they are awful - petals folded over, dead looking grey roses etc. Nothing at all like the beautiful images portrayed at all. These flowers were very precious and this whole process has been very upsetting. I know there is no point in complaining because of the dreadful communication throughout.
