Excellent service

Excellent service – finally feel safe at home again

Electronic Alarms recently came out to sort my CCTV and home security, and I’m seriously impressed with the service. They were professional, efficient, and genuinely focused on helping me feel safe — not just ticking boxes or pushing sales.

The engineer quickly diagnosed the issues, made the right upgrades, and took time to explain how everything works in simple terms. Since then, the system’s been rock solid, and I finally feel like my home is properly protected.

It’s rare to find a company that combines great technical knowledge with genuine care for their customers. Massive thanks to the team – I’d 100% recommend Electronic Alarms to anyone looking for reliable security support and peace of mind

My alarm has been with electronic alarms for years and they have always provided the best customer service. Anytime i ring them sometimes super early in the morning when im closing my shop and there is a fault on the alarm they always answer. Would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable firm.

Unfair mid-contract charges and unprofessional service

We’ve had a very disappointing experience with Electronic Alarms. We paid our annual monitoring fee upfront, expecting the service to be provided through to the end of our contract in November 2025. However, we were later informed that due to Redcare ceasing operations, we now need to pay an additional £77 + VAT to upgrade our system — or else the monitoring service would stop.

This upgrade requirement was never mentioned at the time of renewal, and we strongly feel it is unreasonable for customers to be forced to pay extra just to maintain a service they’ve already paid for.

When we raised this issue, we received unhelpful and dismissive responses, with no transparency about the total potential costs (initially failing to mention additional labour or cable fees), and a complete refusal to offer any pro-rata refund for the period during which they will no longer be delivering the service.

We requested to terminate the contract early and be refunded for the unused period — but were told that no refunds are possible, and they see their position as reasonable. We disagree completely. This has been handled with a lack of professionalism and concern for fairness.

If you're considering Electronic Alarms, beware that your contract may not mean what you think it does, and you could be hit with unexpected charges and poor customer support.

Thanks for leaving your feedback.

We're really sorry to hear you've not had a good experience with us, and we completely get why you would be frustrated - especially with the redcare situation.

Just to be clear, the changes were out of our hands - BT made the decision to shut down redcare services across the country, and like many in the industry, we had to act quickly to keep customers protected. The £77 + VAT fee you mentioned was purely to cover the upgrade needed to keep your system running safely, not a hidden or surprise charge. This charge is also set by dual com , not electronic alarms.

As for the refund, our terms do state that prepaid services are non refundable. But we do try and be fair so if you would like to discuss this issue further , please reach out to our complaints team at info@electronicalarms.co.uk or call us on 0161 223 5559.

We're a local, family run firm and we genuinely care about doing right by our customers. Thanks again for the feedback.
