Excellent from start to finish! They were our solicitors for the sale and purchase of our properties and the whole experience couldn't have gone any better. Any queries or issues were discussed and sorted (if possible) on the same day. Big thanks to Lisa (Chesterfield Branch) for all her work and help throughout, during what is normally a stressful time, was made easy with her work and support.

We have just moved into our new home after a very stressful 5 months. We cannot praise Annie Hobson enough. She was extremely friendly, efficient and professional. It is often difficult to find a good solicitor but Annie was exceptional. We would also like to thank her assistant Kelly for working hard behind the scenes. Pauline and Chris Watkins.

I had a disappointing experience when instructing Elliot Mather for the sale of my property but am not commenting on their ability to perform the legal work for a property sale to a decent standard.
Prior to instruction, I discussed my requirement to be protected from legal costs in the case that the buyer withdrew from the sale and left me liable to pay hundreds of pounds in fees. I was assured that I could buy an insurance policy to pay the Elliot Mather fees in the event that the sale collapsed.
I instructed them and received details of the proposed insurance policy, which would have left me liable to pay potentially hefty fees if the buyer pulled out of their purchase. I don't see why changing the names of a buyer(s) can cost hundreds of pounds as I was happy to continue with Elliot Mather if the sale collapsed and so they would ultimately get their full fee.
Have now gone elsewhere and got a 'no sale no fee' agreement with a firm that are moving things very quickly at the moment.
Clarification: further to your response to my review, I was given a quote whilst on the phone to your employee and was told that a policy for £66 would fully meet my needs. Your email follow up quoted £80 for a policy that did not meet my needs. I advise you to be honest and transparent in your response to reviews!

Very professional and competent company, they replied to emails and got back to us in a timely manner. Offered brilliant advice during our sale/purchase. Special thanks to Jasdeep and Corah @ chesterfield office. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

I used elliot mathers some time ago and they were supposed to provide free in duty service. I never signed a contract as they were in duty on the day yet they pursued me for 3 years without any contract or proof of an agreement and took me back to court for £500. Pure extortionists. I wouldn't recommend approaching or ever using their services
