Ellis Bass provide a first class optical service. When not living in Essex I have travelled back specifically for an appointment with them as I trust their experience and how thorough they are. I also don’t feel pressurised to purchase new spectacles when not needed which I appreciate but am happy in the knowledge that I will be given every assistance when I do. I trust their services which is something I would never do with a large chain of opticians.
Due to family history I don’t want to take any chances and having annual examinations with Ellis Bass makes me secure in the knowledge that I am in the hands of the very best

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to take a moment to share my feedback regarding my recent visit to your practice.

Over the past few years, I have sought assistance from various opticians due to persistent issues with double vision, but unfortunately, I did not receive satisfactory answers. My journey began at BOOTS, followed by another local store two years later. After experiencing continued difficulties, I decided to pursue private consultation, where I was finally informed of a significant issue—a bleed in the back of my eye—after undergoing treatment at a major hospital in London for a torn retina. As time went on, I faced additional challenges, including blurred and double vision.

During my private consultation, I received valuable advice and was referred to your practice, which I greatly appreciated. Upon my arrival for the appointment, I was warmly welcomed by a friendly staff member at the front desk, who promptly informed me that the optician would be with me shortly. I was then introduced to a knowledgeable and approachable optician, who took the time to review the detailed information I had compiled from previous consultations, totaling seven pages.

I was impressed by his thoroughness and the insightful questions he posed regarding my medical history. His expertise and attention to detail provided me with first-class treatment, and he recommended a new prescription that he believed would enhance my vision.

Following the consultation, I felt confident in selecting my frames with the assistance of another staff member who guided me through the various options available. When I returned a week later to collect my new glasses, I was astounded by the improvement in my vision—both for reading and for driving. The clarity I experienced while watching television, particularly with the rolling news at the bottom of the screen, was remarkable.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff for their exceptional service. I am especially thankful to the optician who provided me with invaluable advice and support throughout my visit.
