If I could give them zero Stars I…

If I could give them zero Stars I would. I have emailed them over and over again for the last several months to cancel my subscription and nobody ever gets back to me. They keep sending me product and keep charging my card. I looked at other people's reviews and complaints and they say the same thing

Misleading offer for Vue tickets and zero goodwill

I purchased a “2 tickets for £8” offer via Octopus Energy, which very clearly implies general cinema admission. Only after completing the purchase did I discover the tickets could not be used for the newly released film I had specifically bought them for.
I contacted Vue within an hour of purchase, before the codes were used, yet was refused a refund at every stage.
I dealt with Kelly initially, who repeatedly hid behind vague references to terms and conditions rather than addressing the core issue: the key exclusion (Big Screen Events) was not made clear or prominent at the point of purchase. Saying something is “in the terms” is not the same as being transparent when advertising an offer.

The complaint was then escalated to Donna in Executive Relations, who took the same rigid stance. Despite acknowledging that I raised the issue immediately and that the vouchers remain unused, she refused any goodwill refund for £8 and again relied on buried wording rather than fair customer treatment.
What’s most disappointing is the complete lack of discretion. This was not about trying to bend rules after using the product — it was about a misleading headline offer and a prompt request to cancel when it became clear the tickets were unsuitable.
After this experience, I checked reviews and was unsurprised to see many similar one-star complaints about unclear exclusions and refusal to refund unused vouchers.

I’ll now be pursuing this with my card provider on the basis of misrepresentation at point of sale.

Very poor transparency, awful customer service, and no goodwill whatsoever.

Could be considered a scam

I purchased VuePass cinema tickets through Ello Media but never received the codes. I checked my inbox, spam, and junk folders multiple times—nothing arrived. This left me stuck at the cinema with two upset children, having to buy full-price tickets at the box office, meaning I paid twice for the same trip.

Ello Media's customer service was completely unhelpful. Despite explaining the situation, they rigidly stuck to their terms and conditions, refusing to issue a refund or even acknowledge their system failure. Their dismissive attitude has completely undermined my trust—not just in them, but also in Vue and O2, who are associated with this service.

A company that claims to "build lasting relationships between brands and consumers" has done the exact opposite. Avoid them if you expect fair treatment and good customer service.

Avoid at all costs!

Avoid at all costs!!

I have been using this company to purchase cinema tickets for some time and have generally been happy. However after recently purchasing the incorrect tickets via their website due to the fact that their website is not set up for mobile devices, they were less than helpful. Rude and patronising response from their customer service and refused to acknowledge the fact that I had attempted to call before purchase but, despite it being during advertised opening hours, I continually got an automated message to say they were closed. No acknowledgement on their part that this would have been avoided had they been available for contact and no apology for the fact that their website is misleading and not set up for purchase from a mobile device…
