Elopment heaven

The team made the process of eloping super easy and relaxed, we wanted the least stress possible, and they delivered just that. The location was absolutely breath-taking, and our photographer was awesome captured some amazing shots. Grateful to be finally married to my best friend.

Queenstown elopement

Kyla was absolutely amazing in helping plan our elopement. Eloping Weddings had thought of everything and gave us so many options even when we continued to change our idea of how we wanted our day to look. Kyla was always prompt at getting back to us and took the stress out of planning a wedding.
Our day was better than we could have ever imagined and we would not have changed a single thing.

Kyla is the sweetest

Kyla made our experience fantastic. All the vendors made contact with me within the first 48 hours to ask for my guides etc to make the day special. My make up was fantastic, and Kyla went above and beyond to ensure our day was extra special by including loved ones who couldn’t be there with us. She made special requests to have my bouquet exactly how I wanted it, and I can’t thank her enough for her kindness, generosity, and personal touches for us. Here’s to being married and making it a seamless process 🥂

The team were absolutely amazing. Great communication and I felt like they kept me in the loop well and took care of all the details.
The vendors they use were also lovely and really made the day special.

If you are ever considering elopment, please do it. We remember every detail and had such a special day together ❤️

An unforgettable, stress-free elopement in New Zealand

As an older couple who have both been married before, we didn't want the fuss or pressure of a "big deal" wedding. We decided to travel from Australia to New Zealand to elope, and we are so glad we chose Eloping Weddings to handle everything for us. They truly made our day incredibly memorable and special.
The entire process was seamless—it only took a few emails back and forth to organize, and every single request we made was fulfilled perfectly. They took care of everything: hair and makeup, professional photography and videography, a lovely celebrant, and even a guitarist who played beautiful songs for us.
From the moment we arrived at our destination, we were looked after so well. The team’s attention to detail ensured our day absolutely exceeded our expectations. On top of the wonderful service, the pricing was extremely reasonable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a stress-free, beautiful wedding day.

Would highly recommend Eloping Weddings!

Would highly recommend Eloping Weddings! We had a great experience even though we were booking last minute.

Kyla was very helpful along the way with all the decisions that needed to be made and even though we had to reschedule our heli flight due to bad weather, she even sourced us a second photographer (as the original photographer couldn't do the additional rescheduled time).

My husband and I had a very memorable experience and the photos were incredible. If you're thinking about it—I'd honestly bite the bullet and go ahead with it!!

Lots of Hidden Fees, stressful and not very organize wedding planning, traumatic wedding experience with Aaron and Kyla

Please be cautious when considering Eloping Weddings and Nuance Photography (based in New Zealand). My wife and I had a very disappointing experience with them, and we feel compelled to share our story to help others avoid the same.

Despite their promises, we were charged several unexpected and unagreed extra fees. Their planning and photography services were highly disorganized, and communication with Aaron and Kyla was extremely difficult—especially when issues arose.

We believed that hotel accommodation, as advertised in the package we paid for, had been prearranged. However, upon arrival, we discovered it hadn’t been paid for and had to cover it ourselves on the spot.

On the day of the wedding, my wife was forced to walk more than 10 minutes from our accommodation just to get her makeup done—there was no in-room service, adding unnecessary stress to what should’ve been a calm and joyful morning.

They claimed a team of photographers and videographers would be present, but only one person showed up to do both jobs. The quality of both the photos and videos was extremely poor and certainly did not match the high price we paid.

Sadly, a close friend of ours had a similarly traumatic experience with this company. What was meant to be a blissful, unforgettable day turned into a lasting source of stress and disappointment—largely due to the service provided by ElopingWeddings.com (Aaron and Kyla).

We’re sharing this to warn others who might be considering them for their wedding or elopement. Please think carefully and explore more reliable alternatives before making a decision. Don’t let your special day be overshadowed by avoidable frustrations.

We take all reviews seriously and have thoroughly searched our records going back to 2019 and we have no booking, correspondence, or record of any couple matching this review. We would genuinely welcome the reviewer to contact us directly with their booking details so that we can investigate and respond more fully. Without any verifiable information, we are limited in what we can address.

We do note that this review appeared very shortly after another recent review on this platform, and that the reviewer references "a close friend" who had a similarly negative experience. We will leave others to draw their own conclusions from that timing.

That said, we are happy to address the general claims made.

On accommodation: when we make agent bookings on behalf of couples, we provide credit card details at the time of booking for charges to be applied. If an issue arose on arrival, this would be something we would work urgently to resolve. Without booking details we cannot speak to the specifics here, but this does not reflect our standard process.

On pricing: our packages are competitively and comparably priced relative to other wedding vendors in New Zealand, and we are transparent about costs from the outset. Any additional charges would only ever be applied where agreed upon in the contract and initial price list.

If this reviewer is genuine in their experience, we sincerely encourage them to reach out to us directly with their booking information. We are committed to resolving any legitimate concerns and would welcome the opportunity to do so.

Terrible Experience

We regret entrusting Eloping Weddings Ltd (run by Kyla and Aaron) with our wedding in Queenstown, NZ. What should have been a joyful, stress-free experience turned into months of frustration, confusion, and emotional strain.

The most distressing issue was being misled about our celebrant. We were told a Catholic wedding would be arranged, only to discover — after personal investigation — that the celebrant they booked was not authorised by the Catholic Church. We had to urgently source a priest ourselves, with no meaningful support from the company despite the added stress and cost so close to our wedding day.

Beyond that, the service we received was disorganised and lacked basic professionalism. We ended up making many of our own arrangements, including crucial logistics they were contracted to handle. A clear example: they failed to inform the make-up artist of our hotel address — she was about to go to the wedding venue instead, which would have created chaos on the day. This was just one of many things that were left to us to chase down and fix.

Communication was consistently poor. We were given no reminders, no check-ins, and no updates leading up to the wedding. Each piece of clarity we received came only after repeatedly following up ourselves. Their responses were often delayed and defensive, and cost breakdowns remained vague and inconsistent — even when challenged directly.

When we asked to move the champagne celebration from the mountain (after the helicopter ride) to the venue immediately after the ceremony, we were refused. Their response was simply that the champagne was “paid for in the heli,” as if a simple and reasonable change of location was too much to accommodate. This level of rigidity, especially in a premium service, was baffling.

Just thinking about the endless chain of emails and follow-ups makes us feel nauseous. What should have been a beautiful, supported experience felt more like project managing a disorganised vendor than planning a wedding with a professional.

We truly wish we could be writing a positive review, but feel a responsibility to warn others: be prepared to do everything yourself. You may still have a wonderful day, but it will likely be in spite of this company — not because of them.
Do yourself a favour and book things yourself, it will save you stress, time and money.

We feel it is important to address several inaccuracies in this review, particularly noting that it was posted four days before the wedding even took place and therefore cannot provide a well-rounded or accurate account of the full experience. The positive messages we received from Nino and Nara the day after their wedding, and in the weeks that followed do tell a very different story.

Nino and Nara's booking began as a standard elopement for two and expanded into a full wedding with 13 guests. We absorbed the additional complexity without charging extra, going well beyond the scope of the original package to support their day. That package included venue hire at Stoneridge Estate, a helicopter flight, hair and makeup, one bouquet, two buttonholes, one corsage, two bottles of bubbles, and 2.5 hours of photography and videography with all edits (raw photos, colour edits, highlights reel and ceremony video) for $7,270 NZD. If you know weddings and what they cost, you will recognise this as exceptional value that would be very difficult to find elsewhere. Expectations must match budget, and while Nino's review references a premium experience, this is not a premium price point for everything that was included. Throughout the planning process, additional services and products were frequently requested but met with reluctance to cover the associated costs.

On the celebrant: before the booking was even confirmed, we addressed this directly in our very first follow-up email stating "I know you requested a Catholic priest. That would be outside of the quoted price. Were you happy to just use our regular celebrant and have some religious wording included?" They confirmed they were happy to proceed. It is also worth noting that there are no female Catholic priests in New Zealand, so the nature of our celebrant was never ambiguous. The celebrant we arranged is a warm and respected member of the local Catholic community and the best possible fit we could find for this couple. When they later requested a priest, we supported that change and offered additional shoot time at half price as a gesture of goodwill. We would note, however, that had this been a firm requirement from the outset, we would not have been able to take the booking as sourcing a priest willing to travel and officiate outside of their own church is extraordinarily difficult to arrange.

The champagne at the mountain peak was a deliberate decision outlined in the original quote, structured specifically to avoid Stoneridge's corkage fees and keep costs down for the couple as they were on a budget. When the request came to move it to the venue six days before the wedding, we were actually able to accommodate this, and they did enjoy their bubbles at Stoneridge after all.

Regarding the claim about the hair and makeup artist: the MUA was provided with the couple's accommodation details, room number, and contact numbers prior to the wedding day. We have text message records confirming this communication took place. Any confusion on the day was not a result of information being withheld by us.

The day after the wedding we received this message: "Caleb and Amanda were awesome. We were also blessed with gorgeous weather." Weeks later, further warm feedback arrived about their photos: "Lovely photos — we appreciate the edits, but if possible we would like the raw photos as well, as the day was so beautiful and we would like to keep all."

We also feel it is relevant to note that a review of Nino's Trustpilot profile shows 13 negative reviews across multiple different companies. We will be sharing wedding photos, text message records, and email correspondence so that anyone reading this can see the full picture and draw their own conclusions.
