Excellent traditional retail experience. A few weeks ago we bought a mattress from the bed department at Elphicks.

It was a genuinely good experience. Prior to this we bought some new pillows from Malcolm. Having had attentive, considerate, non-pushy help with the pillows (I've usually just bought pillows without thinking much) we returned to try mattresses. Again, an excellent experience with no pressure to buy, and lots of time to test mattresses out in the store. There was enough choice but it was not overwhelming and all products were high quality. Timelines on product prices (we liked a sale item) and delivery were clearly communicated. Product knowledge was excellent. When buying a mattress which you are going to live with for a long time and spend a lot of money on, it was reassuring to work with someone who knew their products and was confident enough to give honest advice. A skilled in-person experience to buy a good quality British-made product rather than a weird memory foam mattress bought from an online store is infinitely better! After making a decision about a week or so later, I ordered the mattress by phone with the same member of staff. Delivery this morning was excellent too, with good communication and hassle-free disposal of the old mattress.

My son bought me a jacket from Charles Tyrwhitt online as a present. The jacket was a size too small and my son had destroyed the packaging/returns documents! I went to CT in Elphicks, Farnham. George Murray of CT handled my return really well. He went the extra mile to source a bigger jacket and even had it delivered from Guilford to Farnham for me. Great service from George and CT in Elphicks.

Firstly I’d like to say what a pleasure it is visiting a store like Elphicks. The staff and atmosphere is a delight. It’s like stepping back in time when shopping was an enjoyable experience. Staff that want to engage with customers. I’d particularly like to acknowledge what a wonderful member of its staff they have in Malcolm, from the bedding department. He seems to have it totally under control and makes the visit a pleasure. It’s a personal touch that I’m sure my wife and I are not alone in appreciating.
